The Art of Switching Up
()
About this ebook
After ‘facing your books’ for those long years, enduring those boring lectures and Lecturers and finally ‘making Daddy proud’, it is assumed that you have paid your dues and should not find it difficult to forge ahead with the next phase of life, after all, success in the current class means automatic progress to the next class. Sadly, this is not always true outside the school system; but why? Why doesn’t a good degree automatically translate to a good career, a good business or a good life? The student in us finds this difficult to understand.
We were raised to believe that academic performance was the master key to success in life, in fact, songs have been sung long before I was born to suggest to every child that the protocol to success in life was to ‘face your books’ and every other thing will just work out perfectly. This will make good advice for a Fifth Grader, but for a person studying for a degree and on the verge of connecting with the real world, it could be counterproductive, because what is notably missing on that golden rule was the disclaimer that there was a huge chance we could obey the rule of being the best student we could be and still turn out stranded in life, long after doing so.
In a series of ‘Switching-Off’ and ‘Switching-On’, this book takes you through a proven method by which every ‘School Leaver’ and ‘Certificate Holder’ can attain a profitable integration into the interesting yet strange new world that awaits upon graduation, without any unpleasant surprises.

What They Say
You can lead in the classroom and not be listed in the boardroom; leaders in class are mostly not leaders in life. I present to you a book that will reposition your mind for a successful life whether you are in or out of school.
Ibilola Olowookere (Mrs.), Founder, Signature Woman
This is a book that touched my feelings and brought back memories of past. I was able to rediscover my past, both in terms of mistakes and achievements. This book is a must read for both Graduates and Undergraduates. Parents and Guardians also need this book to guide their wards right. The author has done a good work putting this together. Congratulations Mayowa!!!!
Dr. Godwin Emmanuel Oyedokun, Faculty of Administration, Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

What can make happy a book lover more than to read a new book before everybody? This book is for all of us in fact. The reader profile is very extensive; I would love to kindly suggest all teenagers, teachers and adults to read this book to design their lives in every area.
Nesly-Neslihan Girgin, Servant Leader, Design Thinker, who lives in Istanbul, believe to rise together for humanity
Many youths need to answer the question
why am I here? much earlier on than later. Knowing why we are here will help narrow in and not miss the mark once ‘diagnosed’. With regards to mastering the art of switching up, which this book so aptly captures in the simplest terms,
it's not the hood that makes the monk. In other words, it's not school academic performance that determines performance in the in life. We must perfect the skills to continually learn, unlearn, relearn and repeat as well as acknowledge our limits as humans and why to achieve all our goals we must stay connected with our Maker at all times to ensure we excel. This book has done a tremendous job of ex-raying how we can ease into a consistent mindset of excellence by using our past, life's situations and our hopes and dreams for the future. It is really never too late to switch it up and take charge of your life. Well done Mayowa!
Eno Martins Bakare (Mrs.), Founder, Girls-On-Wheels NG
As a behavior change agent and trained mental health/life coach, this is a very simplified book.

Why This Book?
It is no news that a good number of the ‘Most Likely to Succeed’ from our school years seldom achieve as much as expected a few years after leaving school, even though they had been earlier tipped for success after school. You wonder why. Could this be because most of those predictions on who held the most prospects in life were predicated on academic performance only? After all, success cannot be a factor of your ability to make good grades
