About this ebook
Everyone loves dogs. Except Sierra. So how did she even find herself in this predicament?
A simple request had been made from her sister Elissa who had gone out of town: watch Foofoo for a single night. Reluctantly, Sierra acquiesced. She took the yappy dog for the night and took every precaution to keep the Yorkie safe. But Foofoo had other plans.
The worst of the worse had happened. Foofoo was gone. Now it’s up to Sierra and her three sisters to find Foofoo.
Wrap all of this around chasing down frappes, buying a new home, looking for the perfect home insurance, consoling weepy neighbours, and getting along with her sisters, means that Sierra is in for an amusing summer.

Who is Angela White?I published my first book in elementary school--Mystery of the Missing Tabby. The school library still has it, as far as I know. That was my first real work, where writing became solace for me.In Jr. High, a teacher told our class none of us could match the classic authors we would be studying; we weren’t good enough. I took that to heart and turned in an A- paper with a rookie mistake that prevented me from getting the respect I wanted from that lady. I hated it that she was right. I still do.I also adore her for waking my brain to the possibility that someday I might be as good as one of the iconic writers who frame the world of literature. I’ll never know if she did it intentionally, but it worked for me. I’ve never wanted to do anything else. Thanks to that drive, the fire she finished waking, I live off my writing and run my own publishing company. I have twenty novels out, and thousands of fans. It's a long way to go before children study my work in schools, but I’m still just as hot for it now as I was in that musty classroom in 7th grade. So, that’s who I am. I am building, and living, the American dream.Who are you and what have you done? That’s a hard question to answer if you’re still trying to get there. I understand. Here’s some free advice: Follow your dreams, even when the world says it’s crazy. Sometimes, you’ll find a life that satisfies you more than you ever thought was possible. Chase that, starting right now, and the next time someone asks who you are, tell them you’re an immovable force, a wild dreamer, a hopeful comet shooting toward the goals that orbit your existence. And then lift your chin. There aren’t many of us left who want to be good at what we do. Everyone else just seems to want that green shit.I now write full time and live on a small ranch with my family and our clowder of barn cats. You haven’t laughed until you’ve seen newborn kittens playing in the weeds. It’s an amazing way to begin the day. Thank you to everyone who gave me a try. I wouldn’t have this life if not for all of you. Self-sufficiency is an indescribable gift, especially when you grow up poor. May someone help each of you the way you’ve helped me.Contact Angela WhiteFacebook:https://www.facebook.com/authorangelawhiteEmail:cloudninepublications@yahoo.com

This isn’t the stuff books are made of. Maybe Hallmark movies, but not poignant classic novels that stand the test of time. That’s what Sierra would really like to be part of. Something bigger than herself. Something dramatic. Something unique. Epic.
But instead, she found herself chasing down a Peppermint Mocha Frappe because her favourite coffee shop, Bean Time, was unexpectedly closing at an irregular time.
What’s your name for the cup, please?
Sierra.
Beep.
Did it go through?
Yup.
Great.
Pause. Oh, and can I grab a mug of hot water, please?
Oh, I’m sorry but we’re closing in 5 minutes. I can put it in a cup.
What? Why? It’s only 2:30?
Something blah blah blah.
Ok well I intended to stay here, so I guess I’ll get a refund then.
She pointed down at the debit terminal, as if that helped her make her point; as if that would change the store’s mind to stay open; as if it would do anything at all.
Oh. Ok. You just need to sign here.
Ok.
She overheard the chatter between the barista and the manager, Isn’t there a sign on the front door?
Nope! Sierra thought loudly.
The manager replied, The sign will go up when we close in 5 minutes.
Interesting logic.
And with these opinions she quickly left. Well, I didn’t really want the banana loaf anyways. So I guess this is a sign to stop and pick up a strawberry passionfruit scone at Bread, Buns, and Bagels while they’re in season. And may as well throw in a pizza roll while we’re at it.
She drove around the corner to the next Bean Time in the grocery store. After circling the lot for 5 minutes she parked and ran up to the door. On the door in simple Calibri font, it read: All Bean Times will be closed at 2:30pm June II…
blah blah blah
Why didn’t she tell me ALL Bean Times would be closed?! This must be in response to the security breach that happened last week. She looked around thinking about where the nearest Jimmy’s would be. Jimmy’s was her other favourite coffee place.
And then she saw it. Her last hope: Bean Time in the mall. Surely they would be operating under a different jurisdiction. I mean, they didn’t even get the app scanners until last week.
Sure enough, the bright light of Bean Time was on and she (nearly) sprinted to order her desired Peppermint Mocha Frappe.
Sigh of relief.
And so she spent the afternoon sipping her Frappe, lost in thought on how to change the world and how to make it a better place. Truly the thoughts of stuff that really mattered.
The truth is, she was blessed with availability, and most of it was spent by herself thinking. What conclusions could Sierra come to today?
She plopped herself down in the mall food court. It wasn’t buzzing with people like she might have seen on a weekend; mostly it was young mothers pushing strollers around, window shopping, killing time, putting in some steps to counter the weight gained in a recent pregnancy. There were a couple of babies crying, but their moans were almost overpowered by the scraping of bowls and the humming of pop machines. Chinese food scented the air and every so often a light waft of cinnamon could be detected from the shop at the far corner of the food court.
Sierra pushed back her chin-length undecidedly wavy-straight hair and tugged her jacket tighter to her average frame as she sat next to the large windows overlooking a small parkway in front of the mall. She let the sun heat her cheeks as she sat in her typical zoned-out stance, with eyes burrowing a hole into a nearby wall with an undetectable force pulling slightly down on the left side of her lip leaving a look that resembled a frown, or what some might call a resting face of disapproval. But the disapproval was targeting the bigger picture of the world and its problems. In fact, that’s exactly how her thoughts started tumbling around.
What’s the world’s biggest problem? People. People are always the problem. Except when it’s a hurricane. And then the hurricane is the problem.
But really, all of the different kinds of exploitation are a result of people hurting other people. Lying. Stealing. Murder. Human trafficking. The Sex trade. Abuse. Organ harvesting. Prostitution. How do these things happen?
