    THE MISSING SISTER

She is Miss Isha Singh, not the missing sister, Praneeta of my story. But she is a successful young woman on her own right. I used her photograph on the cover-page and I am using her photograph in the middle of the book so that readers can download her photo along with the book.

    Preface

Recently on a visit to a large city, I met a classmate who is also from my own service told me that, ‘Mr. so and so (a common known senior officer from the most elite service of India) read at least 80% of your books.’ I was elated to hear that. Any writer would have been happy to know that 80% of his 142 books have been read by a very senior person. But my friend’s another sentence puzzled me. ‘But so and so also commented that you might be a dis-contended person in love / sex starved person.’ I replied his googly thinking for a moment, ‘He might be correct in his assessment But if you ask my opinion on that I shall say, I am not a dis-contended person in love / sex starved person but always hungry for more for that.’ I do not know whether the senior officer’s assessment is correct or my explanation. But in India, most of us are actually dis-contended person in love / sex starved. In any case, I am extremely thankful to him for reading 80% of my books which exceeds more than 100 books in total. I am sure none of my colleagues, friends and relatives can claim that any of them exceed the senior officer so far reading of my books. Once again, I submit my unconditional gratitude to him.

This fictitious story originates from a news item about a murder of a girl by her estranged lover after a trivial argument between the two after a break-up. But in my book, neither she is the protagonist of this story nor any mention of physical violence. The protagonist of the story is the middle sister expected to marry a colleague whereas her elder sister eloped with an unemployed boy. The only brother of the three sisters also became a blood sucker of the middle sister as he grew. The whole story revolves around Dr. Praneeta Hazarika, the middle daughter of Tilak Hazarika and Pubali Hazarika.

I am thankful to Miss Isha Singh, for giving her photograph for using as cover page of the book.

Thanks to my readers and friends and above all my family members for their constant support to write something usual
