SHE MOVED THE LIPSTICK over her lips, and smacked them together. Looking from side to side, she was done with her final walk-on in the Rick Bravo Magic show and getting ready for her meetup tonight with new boyfriend, Dex Luxom. It had been a month now since she had finally started to live her dream of being able to perform on a Vegas stage. Her grandmother, a former Las Vegas showgirl, had been right. All the lessons she had taken as a girl were paying off. There was no feeling like it.

Well, except when she was with Dex Luxom, the owner of the hotel she worked in and the reason she was on the stage. She had it partially thanks to him too. And that is why she couldn’t wait for him to show up after her last appearance for their nightcap. It was their new ritual when he got back into town.

She touched up some of her eyeshadow thinking how it all started. It was like something out of a fairy tale. She had been a maid in the hotel, and he had discovered her crying in her cart after cleaning one of the rooms.
