Walk On Fire - Tariro E. Masocha

    ahead.

    Chapter One

    Unconscious Dominant Thought Patterns

I am willing to change. I am willing to release my old patterns and negative beliefs. The power that ¹created me has given me the power to create my new life. I chose positive, fulfilling new thoughts, and begin anew, right here, right now.

    - Louise Hay

I would just like to congratulate you for seeking change in your current thought pattern or life situation, as you are in this present moment and making the choice to take some steps of change towards your path to greatness. As you turn each page going forward, I will reveal to you some of the ideas, tools, and techniques that can be applied to your life. Some may have an immediate influence on changing your view or assumptions of the world. Others will take a bit of effort from you, requiring that you either act on the advice provided habitually or to personally review your old lies, digging deep to find those truths that can help you grow muscles for new thoughts, and reset the internal assumptions that you have been replaying in your mind. These may be from either a past experience or through consequences of witnessing something that had a longterm effect on the way you interpret and understand information you process in your mind. I would also like to describe to you how my relationship with fire has changed from when I was a child.

If you have not put this book down by now, I would like to extend an invitation to you, right now, to walk with me and discover my views of the world, and how this changed when a life-changing experience rerouted the course of my life forever. Just so you know, I was not always as aware of my thoughts as I am now.

There are so many situations of uncertainty that you might be able to relate to, that have sparked this negative emotion of self-doubt in life, which I would like to share with you. Walking on your fire is a metaphor I have chosen to describe these, and I will illustrate more of these situations so you can get more clarity. What is your personal fire? I will expand on this further on in the book, so enjoy taking this journey with me.

I would also like to say to you, from now on, every time the emotion of self-doubt is felt and comes across your mind, just remember this phrase: that doubt is a way of defining that you believe in your transformation to progress. I know that you have experienced several challenges in the course of your life so far, and I am proud to say, with a fresh perspective, you will appreciate some of these a bit more, and not see them as a tragedy, as we proceed to the next chapters of the book.

In all honesty, like any negative emotion, self-doubt will always be there. Self-doubt can also be good, which totally contradicts this publication; however, these are some of the key elements you need to understand, which build the function of helping you to overcome it conscientiously. It helps you recognise where some changes need to be made, to be open to outside ideas, and if asked, you have an insight into your own shortcomings.

However, there are always ways for something to be put in place when it leads to unproductive behavioural patterns. Most of the time, when you are in a doubtful situation, it is because you are personally thinking of too many possibilities, or all the negative consequences occurring, if you make a decision that you are not familiar with or where you lack knowledge due to no prior experience from the past. This is really feeling unconfident about your abilities, causing a deliberate delay in taking action.

I would like to quote the words of John McGrath: But the greatest competitor you will ever come against is self-doubt. I personally believe that discipline is the bridge between achieving your goals and accomplishing them. Even Lewis Hamilton, the Formula 1 driver, has put brakes on personal doubts by seeing the result as achievable, blocking out the whispers of doubt, and not listening to what he described as the mini-me on your shoulder talking crap. As you read these words, you are probably considering making a decision to reprogram some habits that the mind has been following as part of your self
