    What Is Hell?

    The Myths of Hell

T HERE HAS BEEN a struggle among humanity to identify the place and existence of hell. While some Considers it a wired issue to attempt to resolve this mystic, it remains a mystery to be resolved with those who care to know the truth of the Word of God. These age-old teaching and doctrines of the church concerning hell is not all based on a revelation from God and the infallible scriptures. This teaching has passed through many decades, centuries of civilizations and state religions, whose bases were not of the enlightening of men of like mind, but the enslavement of the same to a system of darkness that uses the tools of fear rather than truth to command the loyalty of unsuspecting men and women that are hungry for the knowledge of the Word of God.

Though the law of retributive justice is accorded to all race, people, tongues, and nations, and it is our common legacy from the fall in the Garden of Eden to uphold all such levels of justice regardless of the state of mind. When man fell, he was exposed to sin in such a fashion that eluded him of his encounter with God even as it is with us until this day.

Apostle Paul states how it is a fearful thing to fall in the hand of the living God. (Hebrews 10:41). Fleeing from the presence of an angry God and not knowing where nor how vengeance would strike, man has lived in fear of eternal judgment from ages past till this day. Adam’s statement in the Garden of Eden in reply to God’s question was I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself ((Genesis 3:10). Man is still in search of some refuge in heaven or in the kingdom to be established in order to avoid the barrage of the so-claimed hell.

The idea of an ever-burning hell has frightened countless millions of people! Moreover, the question of what really happens to the wicked after death has become the unavoidable question that troubles the souls of innumerable multitude who seeks to know. Are we all doomed to hell, where the human soul roast in torment forever? These are questions that many have never stop asking in search for an answer, many have resolved to reasoning some unanswered questions asking if hell exists, and the wicked go there, where is it, and what is it like? And if so, when do they go? What about the resurrection of the dead? And the parable of Lazarus and the rich man? There are many popular beliefs and claims about the fate of unrepentant sinners. With all these unanswered questions, one may wonder why such confusion? What are the Bible answers for these questions? With no further delay, here is the truth about hell. I would hope you are ready to explore the truth of the age-long mystery.

Many have always looked upon religion to be very primitive and fundamental. So they spent most of their lifetime seeking its source and origin. They sort for a point of reconciliation. They sort the path to find God and to make peace with Him in order to evade his wrath. It was clear that man could not live by himself without God, in the process, man need not only to have peace with God, but also to have peace with himself. This reality unfortunately was unavoidably impossible because without the quickening power and the favor of God upon mankind man remains in the state of being dead or being under the death penalty incured by Adam our federal Head. And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2:1), intently defining that no Adamic offspring with the death penalty can assist in his own resurrection. Every dead man needs an outside source in reference to life in order to facilitate their resurrection because, no dead man can assist in his own resurrection. This has been man’s fascination in seeking his origin and the resolution to finding a lasting solution to the impending judgment.

So man took his first faltering, non fearful steps toward God in an attempt to recover himself and his progeny. Just as Abel offered a lamb, while Cain brought the firstfruits of the soil. But God accepted the sacrifice of Abel, and that of Cain, he was denied. Clearly showing that humanity needed someone who could stand between the gap. As a student of religion needed a priest—one who could teach, instruct, and intercede on his or her behalf. This intermediary, Cain forcefully took away by slaying him though he was his brother, leaving God no choice but to set in place the judgment of retribution—the judgment that warrants the marks of grace.

So since then, man has based his system of belief on this act of carnage, thereby causing many to live in fear rather than with faith in the living God who leadeth all and preserveth all with His mercy and compassion for all. Man has magnified the judgment of God rather than the mercy of his grace to the detriment of man’s soul and his existence as human.

As the scripture says, For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath showed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment (James 2:13). From thence, men lived in fear of the unknown, and in fear of uncertainty. However, in all this, God never left us without a witness and a Comforter. The Bible says, The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death. The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust into the LORD shall be safe (Proverbs 14:27).

Man’s fear of the wrath of God and his dread of divine retribution played right into the hands of the priest of the world’s early religionist. These high Priest recognized at once the power it offered to those who were wise enough to exploit it to their own gain. They used this fear factor to manipulate unsuspecting faithfuls and unstable souls.

So out of man’s need for peace with his God and because of his inherited fear, the priest of the world’s false religions took advantage of the people to the point where even the soul of a man was rarely his own. Fear has become a vital tool placed in the hands of the priests and spiritual leaders who have the power to harass and intimidate man even at death. This element of fear that God has not given to any of his creation becomes a plague to the church where life should have been graced with abundance, beginning at birth, and extending into eternity. Man ever since has never been free.

The first principle of the doctrine of eternal damnation and everlasting punishment was brought to earth and put into the doctrine of organized state religion by greedy priests and unscrupulous theologians for the purpose of holding the masses in spiritual slavery. Thus, man was bound in terror and strict obedience to the black magic of the state-dominated religions. And so began a travesty that will be revealed in the judgment day as one of the world’s greatest spiritual tragedies.

It will be important to see what various religions hold as a fact to the proof of this doctrine that many has labeled hell. The Latin world and the papal system of religion beginning around the fourth century AD sought to combine these earlier beliefs of various hells. Showing how we arrived at the dogma of hell of the Western world—which is considered as a place of eternal fire, sulfur, and smoke. This they claim is where the soul of the dead is judged permanently throughout eternity and without a means of escape—ever. This is quite sad. Only if the truth were told, there would have been hope for those who tried salvation and failed. They would probably have tried again and again till they become perfected and not give up at the brink of hope. Many would have lived after the similitude of Abraham their father, who against hope believed in hope that they would make it Romans 4:18.

May I state that the religion of Islam also developed their views of hell, portraying the picture of it as we should expect a desert of people to imagine hell to be in their religious mind. They sculptured hell as a place was where anyone found short of
