About this ebook

The Restored Name of Jesus Christ pivots on the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and His holy name. Have you ever wondered why there are so many gods throughout spiritual and religious people among the world? Are each of them gods of power, rank, and authority? If not which god or gods are deserving of religious worship? This book begins with the confusing world with which we are surrounded to the many gods found in the world and even within Christianity. It continues to present the significance and authority found in the name of Jesus Christ. It manifests powerful lifechanging doctrines uttered by the mouth of Jehovah Himself. He who reveals Himself in a variety of ways. He who is and was and forever shall be did not seal his mouth with a finality of biblical texts. Great truths are unraveled and mysteries explored beginning with the glorious first vision revealed to a boy prophet Joseph Smith as a beginning to the restoration of the saving grace that comes through the name of Christ. Additional witnesses to Him and His name are introduced powerfully declaring Him as God. After which the importance of restored authority, temple ordinances, exaltation, grace, spiritual gifts, and ultimately, the magnificent witnesses of Christ that have been had in our day are delved upon with spiritual prowess and sacred reverence.

    About the Author

In a world full of pride and slothfulness, riches, and hate, there are but a few humble seekers of truth. The world seems to increasingly fill with a flood of false accusations and incorrect publications. As the flood of filth rises and seemingly the voice of prophet's echo in the distant past: Repent ye, repent ye for the kingdom of God is at hand. All the while the kingdom of God is nearly impossible to find with the many churches built up to get gain, each crying out, Lo, here is Christ and others, Lo, there is Christ (Matthew 24:23). Each church declaring that they have the path toward salvation, while others contradictingly proclaim a different path of salvation. Immorality runs rampant as the laws of freedom decline and stoop to the lawless and sinful world. Drugs and alcohol, sex, money, and power flow in every type of media and entertainment as these devilish appetites blur into the reason for existence itself. Seemingly pious hypocrites and Sunday believers flow out of their great and luxurious churches, only to rush back into the slimy clubs and bars where they stench their breath and lives with immoral conduct.

Politics has become the new religion. No longer do people praise the God who gave them life but rather they glorify and worship the political nominee of the day. People are now more frequently attending caucus meetings and campaigning parties, following the latest political scandal, as they are quickly replacing and forgetting to kneel and talk to their maker.

Religion has become less and less about learning while rock bands and concerts take the place of deep ponderous study and emulation of the Lord Jesus Christ. No longer does the general population of churchgoers even know what they believe. Houses and homes are adorned with bibles that have no more purpose than that of a placeholder and a dust collector. Pastors and preachers have shifted and become social geniuses, working not for the glory of their God whom they ignorantly worship (Acts 17:23) but to fill chapels with people to get gain for themselves. No longer is church, religion, and the Word of God used to help bring God's children closer to their Father, even unto the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, but to fill their pockets with filthy lucre. Church, religion, and God has become a social doing while the doctrines and beliefs have no pertinence to the religion that once was defined by them.

    Introduction

There is a purpose in life. Our existence has meaning. We exist, and we are that we might have joy. The only true joy is the same eternal felicity which God himself experiences. That joy is eternal. We navigate the world that is crowded with information, opinions, and facts portrayed as absolute truth. Many seek truth, not just in a specific field or study, but the truth as a complete whole. We see in the world many gods and much confusion, even among Christianity. Jesus is the Christ, even the eternal God. Only by and through his holy name may we be saved.

Jesus and his saving name have been preached since the first two people walked the earth until Jehovah himself took upon himself flesh and shall be preached until He reigns in glory. He was born a humble birth and died a perfect sacrifice in alignment to the will of his Father. He did this that all mankind may not just live again, but that we may also obtain and retain a forgiveness of our sins. Truly it is by his grace that we are saved.

After Christ was resurrected, he left his ministry and earthly kingdom in the hands of his apostles. They spread his name for a short period of time until revolt, sedition, and rebellion eventuated into a complete apostasy of the truth. Ordinances were changed, sweet truths were distorted, and the same gospel, which was accompanied and authorized by the name of salvation was no longer found upon the earth.

Over a thousand years later, the gospel was restored through a young boy who sought the truth and salvation named Joseph Smith. Once again, the glorious truths of salvation were restored to the earth through revelation. Men once again are able to stand as witnesses of Jesus Christ just as the apostles of old. Writings comparable to the epistles of the apostles have been delivered by the hand of angels. Truths regarding eternal matters have been restored, and Jesus Christ has established his church on the earth one last time in preparation for his second coming. Where he will not come from a lowly manger but shall descend from heaven and commence his Messianic reign as King of kings and Lord of lords with great power and glory.

I write these things to speak plainly, not to bring offense to any individual or group. Rather, I write in this fashion for the need of truth. For this matter is a pressing matter, even a saving matter, that has been talked around and avoided for far too long. If there is a being that can save us it is God, and it is him that I seek to present before you today.

Therefore I implore that you do not take these words merely as diversion literature or simply an interesting topic that is only worth a glance or two, but as a sincere desire to uncover and present God who has revealed Himself anew. Nevertheless, I am a carnal man, and am not perfect and so is this record, but

Whoso receiveth this record, and shall not condemn it because of the imperfections which are in it, the same shall know of greater things than these… And if there be faults they be the faults of a man. But behold, we know no fault; nevertheless, God knoweth all things; therefore, he that condemneth, let him be aware lest he shall be in danger of hell fire. (Mormon 8:12, 17)

I take full responsibility for what is hence written. If there be any fault, it is my own.

Among the topics addressed and discussed interwoven throughout the text is the principle of revelation. It is upon this rock which all readers should build. For religion built upon the sandy shores of tradition and culture will not stand against the rain and floods which shall rail against it. Each man and women can and should seek for knowledge from the Creator himself as to know with a conviction beyond that found in the world of that which is true. As it was said of Paul, The things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God (1 Corinthians 2:11). Yea, I shall declare furthermore that there is no true faith that can produce saving power and force save it come from the fruits of revelation.

    Note from the Author

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As such, I am devoted to my personal Redeemer and Savior Jesus Christ. Being a Christian and a believer in modern prophets and revelation I firmly believe that what I write is true. Truth being a knowledge of things as they are, as they were, and as they are to come (Doctrine and Covenants 93:24). Now, as all who espouse belief in God and Christ and even those who have no such affiliations, I present my views and my beliefs concerning Jesus Christ. I invite all who may read this to ponder the message and spirit within. though at times I may be deemed too bold and contentious, I state my view in hopes it may help you with yours. The main focus and reason of this writing is to bring all men unto God, to talk of Christ, to rejoice in Christ, to preach of Christ, to prophesy of Christ, and to write according to the prophecies and the spirit, that all mankind may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins (2 Nephi 25:26).

The reason for this is to help awaken the souls of those who sleep in an eternal slumber. These writings are for those who know not their purpose in life. For those who work long arduous hours, draining their life, sweat, and blood into some overarching goal, to something greater than themselves yet lack an eternal perspective. For those who have fallen into the trap of skepticism and doubt, losing belief and hope in all things. These writings are for all those who need truth, and for those who diligently seek it yet know not where to find it.

The greatest beauty that can be found within all that I shall attempt to present is the grand truth that one may know for himself of its authenticity. The most miraculous thing that one can know is that Jesus is the Christ, the anointed of God. The Redeemer and Advocate of all mankind and rewarder of those who diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6). May each person that comes across this writing cry unto the Lord with all his might that the truth and veracity of this great news may be made manifest unto him independent of any study and revealed by the spirit of the Lord. That no longer may belief be the cause of their faith, but an actual knowledge until they come to know with a perfect and certain knowledge which cannot be shaken that Jesus is the Christ and has established His church upon the earth along with all that is necessary for man to become like unto Him inheriting jointly the blessings of the firstborn of God the Father.

The Eternal Law and Continuation of Life

Brethren and sisters, those who accompany me in our mortal journey, I ask you why? Why are we here? Why is life as it is? Why are there so many trials and difficulties? Are we in that hell that is so often spoken of? Is this it? Is life just a quick breath of existence meant to be enjoyed for a few brief moments in the great never-ending eternities? An existence that is to be forgotten not just by our predecessors but also by us. Are we to graduate from this hellish sphere only to become a nonexistent nothingness, to leave only to forget that we ever were? Or does this life have meaning? Is there some significance and importance to this life that we live and the people that we become? When we die do we actually proceed to some existence beyond that of our own? Is there life after death? If so, what does that mean and why would any of these soul and thought-provoking questions matter to us?

These questions have tremendous eternal importance, because if this life has a purpose, if there is a life after death, if we die in a sort of graduation, some sort of progression to something beyond us and all comprehension we as mortals may have, we might attain and work to receive the best possible outcome.

The idea that there is life after this time of mortality gives purpose to life. If there is another sphere that we may inhabit after this life, it is essential and critical to know. If this life of mortality is not the end, the next life is perhaps of greater importance than this life.

The potential possibility of a continuation of life beyond the grave not only brings purpose but also hope.

If there was no life or existence beyond this life, this life would be of no value whatsoever. We would cease to exist and forget we ever did exist. All that we attained in this life would have no value whatsoever! All the cars, mansions, gold and silver, any amounts of charity, love, joy, intelligence, or power would be attained only to be brought to an eternal extinction. All would be for nothing, and nothing would be all.

We will die. Our monetary items, our powerful influences, our friends, and family, any and all we ever achieved will amount to nothing. That is, if this life is all. If there is no continuation of our existence.

I proclaim that there is more to this matter. There is a purpose, there is reason for our trials and afflictions, and most importantly, there is a life after death. There is a heaven and there is a hell.

In reality, there is little known about such things by the world at large. We each find ourselves in an existence that is clouded with doubt, cynicism, and bolstering opinion. Some follow after deities while others cry deception. The battle of scientific sceptics and blind believers continues through the ages. While there is not much certainty upon much of anything with the tentative nature of science and its foundations found upon theory supported by evidence. There is little that brings calm assurance. While on the other hand there are raved believers in a frenzied mind proclaiming that their religion is heaven sent as they listen to their preacher who is authorized by the local collegiate divinity school. Amongst the concourses of opinions, we do know what we know and what we know in reality is very little.

We may ponder upon the various workings of the heavens and earth. See the conclaves of clouds that fill the blue sky. We may feel the individual blades of grass in our hands and hear the chirping of the critters and fowls in the air. Contemplation may be done on the passing of time. As seconds turn to minutes into hours, days, months, and years. As the sun in the sky rises and falls ever so gradually being replaced by the light of stars and the moon. Observation on the seasons come and pass while the bright leaves wither and fall before the cold seasons. The birds follow their migration toward the south. And slowly and surely, we see the laws of nature, gravity, principles of lift and drag, and aerodynamics. As theories are created and laws observed from the variety found in our existence we begin to touch upon laws of eternity.

There are some theories that have become so accepted by the scientific community as to explain the phenomenon's we are surrounded with by scientific laws and theories. Both of which stand in a tentative nature wherein they can be instantly disproved and dismissed when new information or knowledge is presented. Such was the case in the geocentric theory.

There is spectacular number of things which we observe through various senses and new instruments which expand our capabilities of observance. Through it all there is an order of things which nature is organized. The planets circumnavigate their proper spheres, and ecosystems transfer energy through various hierarchies. From the smallest molecules which are able to be seen through the inventive machinery of our day to the vast cosmos of the universe that consumes hundreds of billions of galaxies.

Within it all, there seems to be laws by which every molecule and creature abides by. As observers and subjects in the vast play of life we are not told the laws of eternity. But are able through experimentation, theory, and experience to begin to grasp them.

Likewise, as a human species conglomerated in our tribes, cultures, and nations we have adapted to the implementation of various laws of governance. These laws are often implemented by corrupt regimes grasping for greater power and influence among their fellow comrades. While others have established laws with a purpose of freedom from such tyrannical control.

The foundational bricks upon which the United States of America is founded is life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Checks and balances have been implemented to attempt to prevent the abuse of power from the government upon its people. It is an idea, a dream that certain freedoms and rights belong to the people without being infringed upon by anyone. Such is the role of the government to protect these rights.

Infringement upon the rights of another are subject to punishment. For example, if one violates another's right to life, he is to be judged and punished. A delicate balance must be met so that the laws prohibiting one to threaten another's life do not interfere with his right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Just as we are judged, or examined in school, in work or in politics, or religion, or just about anything else in life based off our performance and intent, the same is upheld in the lives we live. We are judged and are to be judged. We are judged based on certain eternal laws.

In life we have a law that we must abide to remain free and maintain and enjoy our rights and freedoms, so it is in the greater scheme of things. If we run a Stop sign or drive recklessly endangering the lives of others, we may receive certain consequences. Even up to the revocation of our right to drive.

Abiding the law is not a restriction but rather freedom. If many of the laws of the land were not in place deterring those from harmfully affecting others there would be chaos. A great state of confusion would dwell among the whole earth, bandits, thieves, robbers, murderers, and rapists would run rampant. The lack of law or even the lack of the enforcement of the law would cause great disorder. Contrarily, obeying the law brings peace and order. The speed regulations, Stop signs, and traffic lights help guide, protect, and organize those who travel the path of life.

Now there are some who are disobedient to these laws, whether it be done purposefully or not. The disobedience of law may affect those who were completely obedient to the law. Just as if someone ran a red light and crashed into the now moving traffic.

The law for each area, from motor vehicles and safety to burglary and theft, has been written. Often some of these laws are not found out until they are broken just as a child may not find out the consequence of a hot stove until he touches the heated red coil. If we go around carelessly, and kill, rape, rob, and plunder, affecting and bringing disorder to the lives of others we are subject to certain consequences.

We may consider the great importance for many of the laws created, established, and upheld and their importance. For if we go around carelessly, and kill, rape, rob, and plunder, affecting and bringing disorder to the lives of others without any consequence, the rights of life and true liberty would be but a dystopian tale. Gangs and mobs would rule with anarchy. No man would easily lay claim to property for the constant looting and murder for gain would pollute the corners of the earth. The imagination of such a society is not unimaginable. And through such a world we come to realize the great importance of law.

However, if there is a life after this, some sort of continuation of existence beyond this state of being, the eternal blessings predicated upon those everlasting laws may exceed the critical nature of all laws found in mortality.

Peradventure these laws exist as declared by the various sects of the religious world.

What is of greater importance than to learn and live-in accordance with this law! It is an eternal law. A law that is not bound by the chains of death or freed by the liberty of life. A law that has always been and will always be.

What could be considered more influential and beneficial than the law that enables mankind to obtain the often-desired salvation? Nothing. For if there is an eternity which we are to experience, our brief mortal flicker will dwindle in comparison to such brilliance of eternal splendor.

Who Is God? Which God Is God? (The Great Question)

The laws of eternity stem from and are irreversibly connected to the personage of a god. He who creates, upholds, and enacts these eternal laws.

The question must be asked if there is such a being who has enacted these eternal laws who is he? And how might we come to know him? Such is the great question of life. While many fret over politics, celebrities, and any other variety of topics, there are no greater questions than the following:

    Is there a God?

    Who is God?

How may I have a knowledge that my life is in accordance with the divine will and thus merit eternal reward?

Often the vain declarations are used, "we all worship the same god or there is only one god." Or some other modification with the same meaning designed to be shared. Such statements have come up and will continue to flood the earth with evil venom and incorrect propriety time and time again. These statements are almost always brought up immediately upon commencing a discussion of religion. Any person to be so diluted in the basic process of critical thinking, so dulled by the heretical doctrines that are entailed within such false and evil statements should ponder the following. What is the verity of these statements? Is there any truth in them at all?

Some reasons these phrases are used is because many people desire to avoid conflict while some may use it as a defense mechanism, and others who are doctrinally illiterate may simply believe it.

Though the intentions that most people have in stating, or believing such things are generally good, the belief must be cautiously avoided.

Prior to developing this thought further, it is important to state that it is the best practice that one holds to truth. If that truth is the existence of a false God yet truth dictates there is in actuality a God. Let that agnostic belief grow, no more in a false deity or deities, but continue a belief in a higher power leaving his false beliefs in powerless beings in accordance to truth. And so, let him continue line upon line and precept upon precept until he graduates through diligence, faith, and revelation to a perfect knowledge of all things.

Thus, I wish to express a gesture of good faith and will that through a softened heart we may not attack others blatantly but rather as should be proposed unify upon truth. As unity for unity's sake is but a worthless pursuit and a mistaken idea and principle. If all the world is unified upon everything their foundation is in reality nothing at all. If all mankind unified not upon the rock of truth and revelation but upon the sandy beaches of the philosophies of men and the traditions of our fathers, the human race would be damned because they were too complacent and afraid to do as Paul invites to prove all things and hold fast to that which is good (1 Thessalonians 5:21).

Now in returning to the premise presumed by many that we all worship the same god. Simply observing the many gods that are found in the world, the gods of small tribes in the jungle of the Amazon, the gods of monks who spend their days in silent meditation sitting upon a mountain top dedicating themselves to that god. The gods of the Egyptians, Nordics, and Greeks. The gods of neighbors and friends though it may share the same name often are conceived of having a wide variety of characteristics and attributes. Even gods that are contrastingly different within the perception of those of the same congregations.

In simply opening our eyes, we see that there are many different perceptions of the great creator and upholder of the universe. Some of a polytheistic nature, and others declaring that the same god that created the world is he that upholds it. While others believe nature to be the creator and the mother of all living. Somehow believing that deity is that which he has created. Is Jehovah the same as Poseidon, Zeus the same as Ra? Are there any distinctions necessary to be made between Allah and the God of Christendom?

It does not take much reasoning at all to realize there is an enormous variety of deities that are worshiped. Each deity with its own characteristics, attributes, and perfections. All of which have a broad array of powers, knowledge, dominion, desires, and the goals they strive to achieve. Even the relationship between the deities and those that worship them differ in a broad spectrum.

As we see this great number of deities, the question of the greatest importance is this; which God is the God that created and maintains the universe?

Is God Buddha? Or Allah? Or Jehovah? Is he one of many gods? Or one multigendered being that is both male and female? Is God as many Christians suppose nothing more than a spirit essence that is in and through all things, not to have any body, parts, or form?

Now with all the gods that are worshiped how may we KNOW, which is the god or gods of power? A being or entity that is much more that a simple fizzled idea. A true God that is as real as the stories that accompany them. The Almighty who created us. Who grants us our daily breath? The being by which we can continue in immortality and inherit eternal lives. There is truly no greater question. There is no matter of greater or more pressing value and eternal worth than that of who is God?

Gods are generally known by one of three ways:

The evidence of history and tradition.

The evidence furnished by the exercise of human reason.

The conclusive evidence of direct revelation from God. (Talmage, Articles of Faith, 1990)

The Evidence of History and Tradition

This is certainly one of the most common ways people ascribe to their deities.

Tradition dominates religious views and proceeds from generation to generation. Many devout and even non-devout but believing families have proud family heritage that extends multiple generations. Some Catholics, Muslims, atheists, agnostics, evangelicals, Protestants and more have continued the tradition of their fathers. Simply following tradition does not prove authenticity or efficacy. Just as a belief in Christ as the Son of God could be just as fallacious a belief as any other deity. And so, it is with each deity presented throughout the world. Knowledge and belief of those gods who rule the sun and the sea, life and death, happiness and misery are always derived from claims of direct establishment under said gods or by the unauthoritative whims of men. After such beliefs are established, whether true and efficacious or not, they are then continued through tradition.

One of the sad realities of worship throughout all of history is the complacency that many people have in their religion. Often those raised in Catholicism remain Catholic; those who are raised Muslim continue in due course. This is without any regard to truth, but often the results of the traditions passed down from generation to generation and the social acceptance of the area and time.

The histories of each religious sect are often recorded and transcribed to be passed on to the next generation. It is the continuation of these histories that many religions find their foundation or standard. The difficulty within this particular branch of coming to know God is that which stems from the fact that many historical records and their interpretations vary. In briefly mentioning the plurality of the scriptural accounts of the belief espoused to certain religious groups. Christians with their belief in the Old Testament, Jews with a belief of the Pentateuch, and Muslims with their belief in the Quran. Each sect accepts that which they deem to be true. Each of these three sects worship the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Israel). And thus, we see that even with similar records without modern and direct guidance immense amount of disagreement and diversity can persist.

By tradition and history alone, it has been and will continue to be asked who is to say that the Bible is true, and the Quran is false? By what logic? By what authority?

Does mankind devote his life to the god Allah because of the archaeological evidence found? Is the book from which Muhammad read the Quran presented to him by the angel Gabriel available for the world to see? Or the tablets from which Moses scribed the great Ten Commandments? Does true belief sprout from the histories? Can a man be saved solely by reading the experiences of others?

Though useful when approved by a living deity history and tradition are deadened without the authoritative seal of God. It is only by revelation that we can come unto any actual knowledge of these things. Without such spiritual enlightenment, one will persist in the dark. Stories will remain stories, and history will stay where it was written.

It is through personal experience of revelation that we may know for ourselves what is true.

The Evidence Furnished by the Exercise of Human Reason

This could be concluded as a more scientific and observational way of discovering God. One may view the great anomaly of all that is from the clouds in the sky to the waters of the sea. How perfectly the earth orbits the sun, how the moon orbits the earth. The miracles of life and the ponderings of death. The likelihood that all that exists is simply by chance without a higher power. As man studies and examines the many proofs that hold the world together from the smallest particles of atoms to the greatest solar systems. Yet as one may ponder and dwell upon the great intricacies of all that is, we must remember, To admit the existence of a designer in the evidence of design (Talmage, Articles of Faith, 1990).

In the universe, we see a great amount of order. There is an innumerable number of planets and galaxies that are found continuously. Among all the space that surrounds our small planet we see planets flowing like the great waters in the sea.

Pondering on the simple facts of the sun rising and setting each day, as the clouds float through the skies. Tectonic plates as they shift ever so slowly under our feet, moving by the millimeter. Trees that grow
