Mary's Poems

About this ebook
I started writing them, I really enjoyed it. I get
inspiration about everything in life.
I love to visit the beach, just sit there, and relax,
and a poem would start to develop in my mind.
I always take a book and pen with me wherever I go.
If something inspires me, I write it down.
I love life, and I have also written poems about my
three children; even my little dogs, Sooty and Baily, give me
inspiration.
Some of the poems I have written are about all walks of life, from
happy times to sad.
I hope you will enjoy reading my poems as much as I enjoyed writing them.
Mary Fields
I entered the world on 10 December 1954, one of the ten children in our home of fi ve girls and fi ve boys. I have lived in Belfast all my life, getting married to my lovely Eddie in August 1974. We have three children, two boys and a girl. I love them all dearly; my daughter has married a lovely boy called Stephen, and I am now waiting on my fi rst grandchild coming along in July. I get a lot of support from my family; my young niece, Niamh, and nephew, Tiernan, love me to write poems for them. I also have to mention three other nieces, Eileen, Jennifen, and Jolene, who helped me get everything sorted for my book. I have been so lucky with such a great family and a special and dear friend Michael, who had such faith in me, I can’t thank him enough.

Day and Night
A new dawn breaking
from a night of dreams.
A brightness chasing stars
is all that it seems.
The sky turning blue
that is welcomed so much.
Dreamers just awakening
from pillows they touched.
A dawn chorus begins
little birds having lots to say.
Kettles that are whistling
with breakfast on its way.
Such is life!
Busy days into night.
When houses close down
everything is all right.
