    PREFACE

This book is designed to reveal the answers to many modern-day illnesses that the medical profession has not, as yet, been able to solve. It combines spirituality with science and is directed at both the medical profession and the general public in the hope that it will lead to the eradication of these illnesses. It also delves into many present-day misconceptions within the society. It explores other angles with the aim to remove many prejudices and false fears that have unfortunately developed over the ages.

Please refer to the Contents for the list of illnesses and issues that are broached in this book.

I wish you an enjoyable and enlightened read.

    WHAT IS REIKI?

    A SCIENTIFIC EXPLANATION

Six years ago, a girlfriend took me along to a gathering of women who were studying holistic healing at a college in the city of Melbourne. We were sitting around, chatting amongst ourselves, when the lady I was talking to altered dramatically—her voice had altered, her persona had changed, and in some ways, she had actually looked different. I can honestly say I put my brave hat on. It was quite freaky; she proceeded to take us all on a journey with chakra healing including quite a detailed trip through the planetary system. When she had finished, the group returned to chatting. They were used to this type of experience and referred to it as channelling. Their opinion was that Saint Germain had been speaking to us through this lady. I had always been a cynic up until this moment, but it had been an experience far too powerful to ignore.

A couple of weeks later, this same girlfriend suggested we have a massage, which sounded like a fabulous idea, so off we went. My massage lasted for three hours and blew me down. This lady was also a channeller; she channelled the deceased. I was speaking to my dead brother Peter; the experience was astonishing. Towards the end of the session, my late brother suggested that I would probably like reiki. I had never heard of it nor had the medium giving me the massage. She asked me to swap positions with my girlfriend and then to place my hands six inches above my girlfriend’s body and to move them in a swirling motion. I immediately felt a cold spot, rather like a hailstone. I left my hands on this spot until the cold spot had disappeared. The masseuse then informed me that although she did not know the name or exact address of the place where I should study reiki, she had been told by my brother that it was at Springvale Road, just over Canterbury Road. I jumped in the car the following morning and located it. It was named the College of Therapeutic Resources. I booked in for first-degree reiki, and my journey began. Eighteen months later, I had finished my master’s degree and had never looked back. I studied many healing modalities at this college, including aromatherapy, crystal healing, past-life healing, spiritual development, psychic healing, colour therapy, and counselling, to name but a few.
