CHAPTER 1

PRINCESS WILLOW

Once there lived a girl—not any girl. She was a fairy and her name was Fairy Princess Willow. Her father was the King of the Goblins and the underworld. Her brothers were Henry, the zombie, and Frank, the Frankenstein. Her mother was a fairy but her mother decided not to live with her husband and she left Fairy Princess Willow with her father and went to live in the underworld in Greece. Each Halloween, by midnight, her father would send out minions. One day, Fairy Princess Willow told her father that she was going for a walk to go and see her grandmothers.

Her grandmothers were three witches, and they were the only witches in the Halloween spirit. She went to her grandmothers’ cottage and asked for a potion that would change her disguise to that of a human for an hour, and so it was. She just did what she was destined to do.

Fairy Princess Willow travelled to Greece, where her mother lived. Now that she had finished the entire potion that her grandmothers gave her, she was back to being a fairy. She went to the forbidden land and found the stone which had her mother’s face on it and said her name:

‘Queen Hollow, who is married to the Goblin King!’

A coffin-shaped lift came up. She went inside and demanded to see her mother at once. At that time, Fairy Princess Willow’s father was looking for her. Her father was getting furious and demanded all his minions to go all around the world’s underworlds at once.

When the Goblin King sent out his minions, Fairy Princess Willow did not know that her father had sent out his minions to look for her. Fairy Princess Willow was then spending time with her mother, Queen Hollow. She told her mother that she missed her terribly and wished for her to come back to the Halloween spirit. Her mother told her that she could but she had to discuss it with her father. Fairy Princess Willow was getting worried because she went there without her father’s permission.

In the meantime, Fairy Princess Willow’s father was coming to the Greece underworld and went to forbidden land and said the password:

‘Queen Hollow, who is married to the Goblin King!’

A coffin-shaped lift came up and took the Goblin King down to the underworld. The Goblin King found Fairy Princess Willow and her mother and came straight up to them and looked furious. Her mother talked to her father, and her father agreed that her mother could stay in the Halloween spirit again. The Goblin King and his wife said to Willow,

‘Why didn’t you tell your father?!’

‘I have to ground her for a year,’ her father said. ‘Fairy Princess Willow, you are grounded for a year!’

Fairy Princess Willow and her father and mother returned to the Halloween spirit. They went to her grandmothers’ cottage for supper. Her grandmothers were upset with Fairy Princess Willow for they had wasted their time making that potion, which took a lot of time to make and also needed a lot of ingredients too. They went back to the house. When the clock struck twelve, the Goblin King summoned all of his minions to come to the Halloween spirit and said:

‘Minions, return to the Halloween spirit at once!’

Fairy Princess Willow lit her light in her bedroom and sat with her pet, sulking and wishing that she was not grounded. Her parents said her friends could still come to play in the castle. She agreed. She normally did not go to school because there was no such thing like that in the Halloween spirit yet.

The Goblin King decided that Fairy Princess Willow should have a Halloween party. Fairy Princess Willow came out and found a huge surprise Halloween party for her. Her friends were there. Even her grandmothers were there. She really loved it. She said that she was never ever going into the real world again. She was going to stay in the Halloween spirits forever.

The wolf howled at midnight. Then the party was over and everyone went home. Fairy Princess Willow went back to her room and was very happy and enjoyed herself at the party. She said to her mother that she wanted another pet. Her parents said she could have a wolf and she agreed.

CHAPTER 2

THE AFTER PARTY

After the Halloween party, she went to open her presents. She had to have her parents’ permission to open the presents, so she went to her and asked, ‘Daddy, can I open my presents, please? Today is my birthday. Please, can I open my presents?’

‘All right, it is your birthday, so you can open them.’

So she went to open her presents and got a death daisy mix potion from her grandmothers, blue pixie dust, and moon oil to mix from her vampire aunt and uncle, a new pair of wings from her friend Sally, the pixie, and the last present, which was from her father, was a baby Norwegian dragonfly, which was very rare. They had the power to destroy a 4,000,000-pound giant. Many people and creatures would like to get their hands on it—even mortals who did magic tricks. Her parents said that they found one in the botanical graveyard. After that, she decided to show her cousins the rare dragonfly, which had a rare diamond stone that would cause the world of magic to face its doom if it fell into the wrong hands. The diamond was very powerful, so it had to stay on the dragonfly.

After the party, her parents took her to the graveyard with her dragonfly and made her sit in the deadly graveyard as her punishment for being grounded. She sat with her dragonfly and started to sing,

‘Shiny diamond stone, your light is so bright. Reveal your mystical power.’

After she sang the song, the diamond stone started to light up and gave the dragonfly power, and any living creature who chanted the song would be given power. Her brothers were hiding behind the tree and saw what happened when their sister sang the song and realized that if they had the dragonfly and the diamond stone, they would rule the world. So they left to go home and told nobody about the dragonfly, the diamond stone, or the song. They kept it a secret. Her brothers went to the diamond mine to get the right diamond to replace the diamond stone with a fake diamond and take the real one instead.

They found the exact same diamond shape and size, but how would they get the dragonfly and the stone when it was kept with their parents? It was tough for them but not for Willow.

They could not just take the stone without doing some research. Otherwise, who knows what might happen to them? So they went to Skeleton’s Public Library to do research on the stone. They couldn’t find the book they needed, so they went to the reception and asked,

‘Mr. Bubble Bum, we can’t find the book we want.’

‘What book are you looking for?’

‘The Rare Diamond Stone.’

‘Well, no one in history has ever asked me for that book. The last time anyone asked me for that book was in, like, never!’ He handed the boys the book.

So they took the book home and hid it to their room and opened the book and found out that not only could they have power, but they could rule all the underworlds, all the spirit worlds, and everything in the world, but the only thing to get the power was on Halloween night.

They needed a golden scepter to place the stone in and the following ingredients:

2   lizard tails

A pinch of golden shavings from the gold mine

3   trolls’ eyes

The dragonfly.

They had to mix it all in a witch’s cauldron and sing the song of the receiver’s voice,

‘Shiny diamond stone, your light is so bright. Reveal your mystical power.’

‘Now, what do we do?’ asked Henry.

‘Well, we have to wait till next year for Halloween time,
