Author Background

INTRODUCTION

I was motivated to write this book by the suggestion made to me by Mrs. Clara Macareo de Camejo of Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela. While attending a Bible study I was teaching at the house of one of my nephews in the city of Caracas, she suggested that I share messages about the family and what the Word of God has to say about this important topic. I received this suggestion as coming from God, so I told her I would do so. This conversation ignited in my heart a desire to share the way the Holy Spirit guided me to achieve and maintain my home.

I enjoy sharing what the Lord has taught me about the family unit: how important it is to the heart of God, and to society in general. It is indeed the cornerstone of civilization. We are all grieved over the vicious demonic attacks that the family is currently experiencing.

I write this book to help couples preparing for marriage; to give them information to guide them in making godly decisions; to help them establish a happy, godly family; and to enjoy a good life. My intention is that this book will give husbands and wives encouragement from the Bible on how to enrich their marriages.

CHAPTER 1

MAN AND WOMAN CREATED BY GOD

T he Bible teaches us that God created man and gave him a spirit similar to His in order to give man life. The Bible further teaches us that God formed man from earth, breathed His breath of life into man giving him a spirit, then man became a living being. This spirit is the true person that lives in the physical body that we can see, feel, and touch in the natural world.

Then The Lord God took dust from the ground and formed a man from it. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nose, and the man became a living person. Genesis 2:7

You will turn back into the dust of the earth again, but your spirit will return to God who gave it.

The Bible also teaches that we are a unique creation by Jesus and for Jesus. This means we belong to Him.

No one can see God, but Jesus Christ is exactly like Him. He ranks higher than everything that has been made. Through His power all things were made – things in heaven and on earth, things seen and unseen, all powers, authorities, lords, and rulers. All things were made through Christ and for Christ. Colossians 1:15 and 16

God said it is not good for man to be alone. For this reason, He created a helper for him; the woman. The family united with the man’s abilities complemented by the abilities of the woman in keeping and teaching their children to have the house clean and orderly will allow them to have a life in harmony and be able to achieve all the necessary spiritual and natural blessings for the family to have their home and live in complete satisfaction. Lazy parents and children will never have a home. God will not be present in a house without order and cleanliness.

Then the Lord God said, It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who
