About this ebook
The author hopes that the content of this book will open up a conversation, be it with a stranger, a friend, or a relative. This book will have readers laughing at, The Internet crying at The Flowers That Didnt Bloom, wanting to become like; His Name was Job, looking at the mentally challenged in a different way as one reads: They Say Im Mad. Having pity on those we call bosses when we read Sour Power and for women to reach out and demand the respect they deserve and to applaud the men who do give this respect after reading The Antique Man and those who have never had a Flat Bridge experience, desiring to do so. For the precious moments spent in childhood innocence with a friend who you chose to Remember in a most special way. The collection of literary pieces the author hopes will be widely appreciated by all. She hopes that her writing will be a voice to the voiceless.

Verona Cooper hails from the extraordinary island of Jamaica. She is originally from the parish of St. Elizabeth on the island; however, she now resides in another Parish, St. Ann, with her son. Verona Cooper began writing from she was ten years old and has been writing since. She finds writing as a form of therapy as well as an outlet or an overflow of words that allows for the provocation or stimulation of the mind. Life has been the inspiration/motivation for her work. People, their experiences when put to words show the intricacies that life holds, when one enters this planet. Verona Cooper is a Christian whose mantra is taken from Romans 8: 28 “All things work together for good for those who trust the Lord and are called according to his purpose.” She strongly believes that the experiences of life be they good or bad can make you either a winner or a whiner. However, one must first acknowledge that the one we choose to trust will certainly determine the outcome of the experience. She enjoys reading, travelling and learning about people and their culture. She also favours moment of solitude where most times give birth to her writings. The secret of life is really hidden in a book she exclaimed and that book is right there or here. She hopes that after reading her book persons will be able to identify with some of those emotions though so rawly expressed in time will begin to heal. She holds a B.Sc. in Secondary Education and has worked for the past fourteen years with a statutory body calls the, Jamaica National Heritage Trust, where she serves in the Heritage Education Department. She is also a cultural ambassador for Jamaica Tourist Board: “Meet The People Program.” For over ten years. Verona Cooper loves the delights of nature: birds, flowers, the wind, cries of insects, running water (stream, river) rainbow, and the seasons. Her second anthology is already prepared for publication. She hopes that her other books will also be read and appreciated.

Let me use this forum to acknowledge and say: Thank you
to God for bestowing upon me this gift of writing. Let me extend sincere gratitude to my best friend of twenty four years, Paulette, who took time out to inquire of a Publisher for my book, Stacy who became my critic after the final drafts of some of my work and who helped me in choosing the title for my book. My profound appreciation to my church family who has been my consistent audience, Carole (in the USA) who, while reading to her the content of: "The Flower that Didn’t Bloom." cried throughout. Andy (USA) my best friend’s brother who is always a willing audience in listening to my poems. Thanks to my son who
