About this ebook

This book is dedicated to the Garden, which is a part of the 7 Bridges to Recovery ministry. A portion of the proceeds of this book will go to that ministry.

This book is written with much prayer that the reader will be inspired to get closer to God and become more like His Son. That is a personal goal of the author. As she was inspired to write each poem, she did it in hopes that it would reach othersgiving them words of encouragement to love, live, and grow more like the Master.

    This book is lovingly dedicated to:

    My daughter Lara and her children Michaella, Josiah, and Noah and to The Garden, a place that God has prepared for people who are hurt, broken, addicted, abused and homeless. This is a place where they are loved and repaired from their brokenness. Then they are prepared to return to society, strong and ready to share the precious, saving Jesus story. That will give the Father glory and others real hope.

    For Encouragement Drink This

    This book is written to encourage my brothers and sisters in the Lord. We all need to be encouraged. I pray that it inspires you to get closer to the God who made you and loves you with an unfathomable love. His love is so great that we cannot comprehend such a love. I pray that as you learn and grow in Christ, your heart will bubble over with the miracles that He will do in you. Perhaps this book will even inspire you to ask God to give you a burning desire to go out and find those who need a drink such as this and share it with them. There are many places in God’s Word that refer to His truth as something to hunger and thirst for and to eat or taste. Here are a couple of my favorites to share with you. I hope that they encourage you as they encourage me.

    Jeremiah 15;16 – Thy words were found and I did eat them and they were unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart; for I am called by Thy name, O Lord, God of hosts.

    Psalm 34:8 – O taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man that trusteth Him.

    Do these verses help you to better understand the title of this book? I want you to ingest the words that God gave me to encourage you in your daily walk with the Father and His awesome Son, Jesus.

    Read now and be inspired. Share this with your friends and family. Use the contents of this book as a weekly devotional. I have designed this book to be used in an office or group setting. I recommend that you open the book to the first poem and devotional page and let it remain there in some prominent place for everyone to share and be encouraged. After a week, simply turn the page to the next two pages. I hope that if you work in an office, or similar work place, that each poem and devotional page will help all who see it to be refreshed and spiritually provoked to dive into God’s word and will.

    My prayer is that each person who reads these pages will learn more about God’s love and character. He wants to use these words to bless you. May He shower your life and lives around you with a multitude of blessings!

    Note: Toward the back are holiday based devotionals.

    All of Me

    Arise, O King, Master and Ruler of all,

    In whose kingdom nothing can fall.

    In Thy hand is love, mercy and grace

    And Thou hast given all so freely to the whole human race.

    Thou art the One absolute authority;

    To You I submit all of me.

    My life no longer is my own;

    I lay it down before Thy throne.

    Please help me do Thy Holy will;

    My whole heart let Thy Spirit fill.

    Take my eyes and let them see

    Thy world as Thou wouldst have it be.

    Take my ears and let them hear

    Thy precious Word that You hold dear.

    Take my feet and let them go,

    Into the world, Thy love to show.

    Take my hands and help them do

    Only what brings glory to You.

    Take my heart, and in it place

    That same mercy, love and grace.

    Let my every action be

    That it would bring others to Thee.

    I ask Thee, Father, as I bow,

    Make me wholly Thine right now!

    Scripture: (KJV)

    Psalm 40:8 – I delight to do Thy will, my God; yea, Thy law is within my heart.

    James 4:7 -8a - Submit yourselves therefore unto God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. (8) Draw nigh to god and He will draw nigh unto you.

    Devotion:

    Each of us should begin this very moment to give our whole selves to God to use for His own glory. Even though you may have given your heart to Jesus many years ago, releasing the spirit of ‘me’ is a daily exercise of faith. The desire to be used by God is an ever increasing desire as we grow in the Holy Spirit within us. The more we know the character of God and His unfathomable love for us, the more we long to serve in His kingdom. Open your heart to God’s Spirit by diving into His Word. Eat the delicious scriptures and be filled with immeasurable treasures from His kingdom. Those gifts far surpass any material thing that you might acquire by earning money and buying any earthly treasure. Get busy today serving and growing in what is really important in life.

    Prayer:

    In the name of the Holy Lamb,

    I ask You to take out any thoughts I have now or may have during the day that are self-centered. I pray that I focus my heart on bringing glory to you and Your kingdom. Let me lift up my brothers and sisters in Christ by edifying words and actions. Let me seek opportunities to find the lost and hurting souls that need Your comfort and give them Your amazing love. Thank You for using me. Allow me to stay humble as You use me for Your glory.

    Amen

    Him in Me

    With a humble heart I bow at the holy Throne of Grace.

    In awe and adoration I continually seek Thy face.

    Open my spiritual ears so that I can hear Thy voice.

    I know that when I hear Thee, my heart will always rejoice.

    Open my spiritual eyes, Thy own ways to see;

    Let Thy Holy Spirit do a mighty work in me.

    Let me see Thy people through Thy eyes and with Thy love;

    Use me to give them kingdom treasures from above.

    I know by Thy word that Thy righteousness is mine;

    Because I made the choice to say that my life is
