    Discovering God's Truth - Joan Gilligan

    A Prayer of Faith

    I plead the blood of Jesus,

    Over your heart, mind, and soul,

    Asking the Lord to make you whole.

    Now and forever to walk with Him,

    And to repent of all known sin,

    To be a vessel filled with grace,

    Always wanting to seek His face.

    Protect my loved ones, Lord, today;

    Guard what they do, and what they say,

    And let nothing hurt them in any way.

    Into Your hands, I place them all,

    Believing they will hear Your call,

    Following You wherever You lead;

    For only, then, will they truly succeed.

    Do what only You can do, Lord,

    As I walk by faith, and hold up my sword;

    And pour out Your Spirit upon all men,

    For without You, there is no hope within;

    But with You, blessings will follow us,

    As we take Your hand and always trust.

    Choosing God’s Will

    Lord, I am totally Yours.

    For You, alone, keep my heart pure.

    You hold the keys of life and death,

    And You open, and close doors for me.

    All demons flee when they hear Your name,

    For no power is as great as Yours.

    You, alone, created us all,

    And before You all knees will fall.

    You provide food for man and beast.

    All blessings flow from Your throne above,

    And only You have perfect love.

    You, alone, know what no one else does.

    You keep the sun and moon in place,

    And pour upon all men mercy and grace.

    No one, but You, deserves man’s praise;

    Only to You should our hands be raised.

    Keep my feet on Your narrow way,

    And remind me, Lord, to pray each day,

    And to choose Your will above my own.

    Eyes On The Lord

    When I’m choosing what I will do,

    May I always keep my eyes on You;

    For then I know I will do what’s right,

    And what is pleasing in Your sight.

    For other voices are out there,

    But they will fill my life with needless care.

    So, help me to simplify my life,

    And rid my mind of stress and strife.

    For I want to choose what is most wise,

    And to live, knowing Christ is my prize.

    Anoint my ears to hear You speak,

    And to ask for strength when I am weak.

    I know my life is safest in Your hands,

    And where You lead is my promised land.

    So, with each step I’ll trust and obey,

    And depend on You for wisdom today.

    So hear my prayer, dear Lord, I pray,

    And keep me safe wherever I go.

    May Your will be what I know,

    Now and forever without end.

    God Knows All

    I am thankful for Your blessings, Lord,

    And all the things Your grace affords;

    For You fill my cup with good things,

    And You make me feel like I have wings.

    That is why I will always sing to You,

    And praise You for the things You do;

    For it is You who blesses me so much,

    Because in You I have put my trust.

    I will follow You anywhere,

    For Your will keeps me free of care.

    So, sanctify my mind and heart,

    And give me Your thoughts from the day’s start.

    I am determined to praise You,

    And to do what You ask me to do.

    Help me to live in victory,

    Knowing one day, Your glory I will see.

    No one understands me like You do,

    For You knew me in my mother’s womb.

    You know exactly what day I will die,

    For You have my whole life planned for me.

    Overcoming Temptation

    Help me to overcome temptation,

    And live life like a celebration.

    I want to live on a higher plane,

    Than living in sorrow and pain.

    For I know You want to give me joy,

    And bless me in an abundant way.

    So, I will let go of my past hurts,

    And forgive, as you have forgiven me.

    Your comfort, Lord, is what gives me peace,

    And your grace is always within reach.

    So, clothe me with Your righteousness,

    And fill me with Your purity.

    I only want to please You more,

    With each and every passing day.

    For I know that is the godly way,

    To follow my Shepherd, and not stray.

    So, guide my feet, so I won’t slip,

    And fall into a pit of sin.

    Guide me by Your Spirit, Lord,

    And keep me with You, in one accord.

    Loved and Forgiven

    Lord, thank You for always loving me,

    And forgiving me when I do wrong.

    That You redeemed me is the song,

    That I never will stop singing;

    For You helped me, when no one else would.

    Over and over, You rescued me,

    And set my feet on solid ground.

    You pointed out my faulty thinking,

    And gave me goals and thoughts that were sound.

    I could never thank You enough,

    If I did nothing else all day.

    And that You hear me when I pray,

    Amazes me every hour.

    I know Your power is great, indeed,

    And Your grace will help me to succeed.

    Be with me, Lord, as I go about,

    And keep me focused on Your plan,

    As on Your Word, I faithfully stand.

    God’s Plan For All

    God sits upon His throne in heaven,

    Ruling over all that He has made.

    Nothing escapes His all-seeing eye;

    He even hears when a baby cries.

    And He sees that lonely, homeless man,

    The one who doesn’t yet know His plan.

    For God has a plan for one and all,

    Whether we are old or very small.

    His call to us is all the same,

    We need to repent and praise His name.

    When we do, we are born again,

    With God’s Spirit living within.

    And we don’t have to fear anything,

    For God controls everything.

    We are always on His mind;

    No greater love could we ever find.

    For God spared not His beloved Son;

    By His blood, our salvation was won,

    And all our sins are forever gone.

    When God Is Ignored

    Salvation is a wonderful gift,

    That, sadly, is ignored by some.

    Many who are rich are busy,

    Enjoying all their money can buy.

    And some are deceived by religion,

    When God is after repentant hearts.

    Many are in bondage to sin,

    Making excuses for how they live.

    Their focus is on earthly things,

    With little thought of pleasing, or praising God.

    Maybe they go to church, now and then,

    But they still are not born again.
