About this ebook

We can all learn from the humble lotus flower. It grows in mud and yet never lets this humble origin keep it from enjoying the full radiance of the sun. It never lets anything get in the way of its potential or its true beauty. For this reason, the lotus is a symbol of enlightenment. Like the lotus, we all have within ourselves the power to make the most of each moment. We begin to realize our true potential in the moment we choose to break free of the mud that would keep us trapped and limited. When we embrace our sheer potential, we stand grounded to the earth, deep in mud, ever looking to the sky.

In this guide, yoga teacher Enza DeLuca shares her inspiring approach to lifes challenges and opportunities. She believes that we each have unlimited potential beauty within us and that our radiance is blocked only by our own limiting thoughts, beliefs, words, and actions. She seeks to inspire readers to love the body they have. By harnessing the power of the Law of Attraction, you can manifest the body that your heart desires.

There are many paths on the journey to realising your inner beauty. Everyone has an individual path on this planet. Each journey begins with a single powerful moment of intent, and Enza invites you on the journey of a lifetime. Let your individual beauty shine.

    There’s magic in this world

If you know where to look

    It underlies ordinary lives

If you have eyes that see

    The magic of your focus

    Of your creative will

    Your thoughts are the tool

That shapes the clay of life

    Can you feel your power

    To place your attention on

The bliss of what you desire

Or lack of what you want

    Can you tell the difference

    One feels delicious and open

    And will attract only good

But wanting can only call more lack.

    Luckily your feelings will

    Help you sort your thoughts

    Feelings never lie to you

They are your Soul’s own voice.

    Introduction

All that we are is the result of all that we have thought – Buddha

I t’s difficult to argue against the benefits of taking control of your thinking, to let go of fear and pessimism and become more positive and optimistic. This book outlines how to become more positive about body image and consequently find greater health and happiness, using the power of positive thinking blended with yogic techniques and the principles of the Law of Attraction. The aim is to help you to love the body you have right now, thereby opening your mind to new possibilities and enabling you to create the body you want to have.

My own journey to know and love myself and my yoga and meditation practice were the inspirations for this book and also taught me that the quest to know your own soul is the greatest adventure that can be undertaken. Once started, the exploration of your inner being will continue for the whole of your lifetime and perhaps beyond. It has no end because we are by our creative nature, eternal, and infinite beings, and our potential to expand in consciousness is intrinsically linked with the ever-expanding universe we inhabit.

Like many others, I’ve found that the core teachings of the Law of Attraction ring true within me at a very deep level. As one of my favourite proponents of Law of Attraction, Esther Hicks has said (channelling ‘Abraham’); "once you understand Law of Attraction you will find nothing in your experience that contradicts this law, it simply is, and it’s working even without your understanding of the law".

One thing I find particularly intriguing is the relationship between the Law of Attraction and body weight. I’ve long felt that in the quest for a happy, healthy body weight, there seems to be a missing link. Why is it that some people seem to be naturally thin despite eating whatever they like and leading an inactive lifestyle?

In my extensive travels I’ve observed that in many cultures men seem to be naturally thin and women, particularly as they age, are the ones gaining weight. The contrast has always seemed too great to simply attribute this to differences between the natural body-fat levels in the male and female human body. It also doesn’t make sense in terms of energy expenditure, as in most cultures, even though men do a lot of the physical work, women often seem active for longer periods as they busy themselves doing household chores.

Being a health nut I initially wondered whether the diet food industry was responsible for this phenomenon. By our own experience and in line with latest diet research, most people eating low fat food products and artificial sugars quite often put on weight, rather than lose it. This would explain the male/female anomaly of weight gain in western cultures, as it’s more likely that women would have easy access to ‘diet’ foods. However, this doesn’t explain why the same is happening in cultures like Bolivia and Peru, where diets are more natural.

Looking at the problem from a Law of Attraction viewpoint, the answer could simply be that women tend to worry about their body shape more than men do, and are more likely to hold negative self-images. This may sound too simple, but of course all truth is simple.

While studying the Law of Attraction I’ve noticed the things in my life I don’t worry about at all, including parts of my own body, seem to go along perfectly, while the things I worry about continue to challenge me. Perhaps it’s simply that, as Abraham (channelled by Esther Hicks) has said, worrying is using your imagination to create something you do not want. So by worrying, we antagonise and bring our perceived physical shortcomings to life.

But here’s the problem: how do you stop worrying about your body shape?

I’ve studied the ‘naturally thin’ people in my life. There are quite a few – and I’m talking about being a healthy body weight and feeling easy and comfortable with it, as opposed to being stick-thin and unhealthy. This includes people with a very healthy diet as well as those with an unhealthy diet, and those who exercise regularly as well as those who don’t. What most of these people have in common is that they expect to be thin and don’t worry about their weight.

So what are the habitual thoughts such people have in regard to their own body, what do they expect of their body? Or more simply when they think about their body weight do they feel good or do they feel bad?

Many of us were naturally thin in our early life before we started worrying about our bodies. Anyone who says that this doesn’t count, that everyone is thin when they’re young, should reconsider. It seems to me the ever-growing numbers of obese children are the result of our projecting our body image worries onto our children, and when I say ‘our worries’ I also include the media and our society’s obsession with diet and with unrealistic body images.

Of course, naturally thin adults may have other body and health issues unrelated to body weight, and most of them probably do, and – you guessed it – the issues they do have will be related to the things they worry about.

Worry about incontinence and you’ll suffer from incontinence.

Worry about bad breath and you’ll suffer from bad breath.

Worry about your knees and you’ll have knee problems.

Worry about your weight and you’ll have weight problems

Worry about having the hiccups and they don’t seem to go away.

The sceptics out there will say well, people only worry about these problems because they have them. But this is exactly how the Law of Attraction works: you observe something in yourself or in someone else and as you continually focus your attention on that subject, thinking about it, and worrying about it, and finally believing in it is what ultimately creates it.

For just a moment, even just a few minutes, open your mind to the possibility that this could be the answer. Why not give it a try? I’m not talking about taking any strange drugs, eating expensive foods, doing impossible exercise regimes, I’m just advocating making a small effort, as little as fifteen minutes a day, to change your thoughts and beliefs with regard to your body weight. With the simple goal of learning to love the body you have right now and to literally love yourself thinner. The only thing you have to lose is your low self-esteem and hopefully some kilos.

    CHAPTER 1

    The Law of Attraction

Karma is Newton’s third law. Buddha got

enlightened with Newton’s third law. Every action has a reaction, equal and opposite – Yogi Bhajan

T he underlying concepts of positive thinking and the Law of Attraction have been taught by many enlightened beings in the past and present. The ‘new thought movement’ as it was known, started in the early 1900s, so it’s by no means ‘new’ today. Author and philosopher, James Allen, wrote several books and articles on the subject including his most famous work, As a Man Thinketh , published in 1902.

The premise of like-attracts-like, however, can be traced back to the earliest religions and philosophies. In eastern cultures we know it as the Law of Karma and in Christianity, the Golden Rule (for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap Galatians 6:7, and do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Luke 6:31).

Like many others I’ve been fascinated with the idea of the Law of Attraction since I first encountered it. Of course the study of how the universe works has been going on long before any of us were alive, and I believe humanity is continually growing in understanding of this vibrational reality we call life. I believe the wealth of literature available on the subject is a result of our common thirst to understand more about the universe we inhabit. Our combined understanding is growing steadily and since we are an ever-expanding consciousness, it will continue to grow.

The Law of Attraction, as I understand it, is as follows:

    • We are all creators. Our physical bodies are individual
