About this ebook

Many stories are told about the afterlife and what one might find there. But what about pre-life? What might we have done before we became the tiny baby letting out that first cry? If we are souls that have no end as we move into the afterlife, might we have been souls before we were born as well?

This is a story about one such soul as he prepares for his life on Earth.

    Preface

The souls who are speaking cannot be considered male or female. They are souls of the heavenly realm. They encompass all aspects of good, though on earth some are considered as female traits, others as male. Without bodies, there are no physical differences to characterize them as men or women. It seems unkind to refer to a soul as ‘it,’ thus another pronoun would be needed as a reference. Je, in the Slovene language, refers to all: he/she/it. To conform to English, the possessive would be jes (pronounced ‘yes’).

    The Heavenly

AH, I SEE YOU ARE GETTING RESTLESS. YOU HAVE BEEN speaking of the condition of life that is happening on earth right now. Though you have not been there before, it makes me think you would like to go there now.

Yes, the soul said softly. There is trouble there. I may, though perhaps in some small way, ease this trouble.

The souls who were speaking were Esse and Eimi. Esse had been pondering the souls on earth and had begun to feel many of the souls there were troubled.

They appeared to be in a white room. Its whiteness was so brilliant that it was difficult to see where the floor met the wall or the wall met the ceiling. Being souls that had not yet acquired a body, there was no need to place their feet on solid ground. There were, as yet, no feet.

In heaven, the souls are neither male nor female. Each soul is referred to as je rather than he or she, with no regard for the earth-bound distinctions describing male or female characteristics.

There is no will, free or otherwise. Within the Pure Spirit, all are one, and the One is pure goodness. It never occurs to the One to act contrary to this goodness.

There is no time in eternity. On earth, people are born, have lives, and die. In eternity, the being born, the living, and the dying are happening at once.

    Love

WHY DID THE SPIRIT CREATE EARTH? ASKED ESSE.

Eimi responded, "The earth is a beautiful place. Mountains, plains, oceans, meadows with streams flowing through them. The earth is another aspect of heaven, a place meant to nourish souls with its glory. It was also desired that it would be a
