Over the past decade, Michelle has been passionately providing mental health and co-occurring treatment for youth and adult programs. She has been recognized as a leading visionary within her community and a dynamic practitioner of the healing arts. Now her focus is on helping therapists and healers enhance their intuition and therapeutic skills through supervision, workshops and the Systems of Ease program.
Michelles educational background includes evidence-based research in mental health and chemical dependency. She has special training and experience in the following areas of psychology: energy, spiritual, community, positive, and motivational. Michelle is an active board member of the National Association of Poetry Therapy (NAPT). She is also an active member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) and serves as Chair of the Los Angeles CAMFT Expressive Arts Committee. Michelle has been published in the Museletter, the official NAPT newsletter, and the Los Angeles CAMFT newsletter supporting expressive arts in therapy.
Michelle has been a presenter at the Los Angeles Expressive Arts Summit and the Finding Strengths in Differences Conference. She currently practices in the Los Angeles area, providing therapy, coaching, and group classes on poetry, mindfulness, movement, and other empowering modalities. The focus of her practice is to create space for transformational expansion. She also offers programs and courses for therapists looking to develop Systems of Ease within their practice.
In Searching for SHE, Michelle shares her personal walk as a multi-ethnic female. She states, Poetry was my gateway into personal exploration and healing. Many of my poems express my journey through the lens of my ethnicity and gender. Being a multi-ethnic female has been a cornerstone of my life lessons. It has taught me that accepting who you are is about acknowledging and accepting all of your parts, including the heartaches and despair, to become a whole person.
