ABOUT THE AUTHOR
DEDICATION
This book is dedicated to both my mothers. The loss of them was almost too great to bear. But I am very sure our paths will cross again in the great and beautiful beyond in the not so distant future.
I love you both very much and look forward to kissing and holding you soon.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
I never dreamed of writing a book about the ghosts in our home. I was encouraged to do so from family members, friends and associates. I believe after many years dealing with ghosts and spirits on a daily basis that their activity and interaction with our lives is not to be feared but faced. I will mention though, it has not been a pleasant undertaking and one that I have not wanted at all! My family definitely has been pushed to the limit of our compassion, understanding and ability to cope with what we have living with us. I can tell you it has been a trying journey and my family and I are still trying to find final resolution and an end to the situation at hand.
I want to first thank God for everything he has given me, including this trial, for by trial we learn and grow. Secondly I acknowledge my family for their love, compassion and openness. Our unique experiences have paved ways for new ideas while re-solidifying my personal Christian beliefs. I have read countless books about spiritualism, death, afterlife, and continue to study and read the Bible, in an attempt to understand what is happening to me and my family. During this research process, my family opened up and shared our thoughts and questions which drew us closer. We also became further rooted in God. This lesson has also allowed me the opportunity to delve into the subject of death in a different way and I truly believe it helped my mother and late mother-in-law cross over to the other side.
Tremendous thanks goes to my husband, KJ
, for every comment, thought and experience he has shared with me. Also, to my sister-in-law (who I refer to in the book as my sister) Pam
for living with us - without you I probably would have been committed to an institution - but I know I’m sane because we share many of the same experiences. Thank you kids and grandkids, you were a great help to me because you were open enough to share your experiences and have not labeled me nuts
.
I also wish to thank the all the very special people who have listened to our stories and tried to help and formulate new ideas for us to try. Their insights were invaluable to us and we continue to try suggestions made by many of them.
FOREWORD
Why am I writing this book? To clarify and share what I have seen, felt and heard with my own ears and eyes. Documenting what has happened to my family and I, allows me the opportunity to share with others real and true accounts of ghosts and the spirit world and their interaction with my family and I. Furthermore, it is a written testament of my path to God and how God’s teachings, through His word, have helped me to understand what is in my home, and I have come to realize (the hard way) that prayer and God’s protection is the only way to change it.
Paranormal activity in one’s home is not fun, nor is it to be looked at lightly. Sometimes I am so frustrated with the situation. Other than the two paranormal teams that came out to our house, we basically have been on our own, try to grasp what to do with it – why it was here. Anyone experiencing the same phenomena has to be experiencing similar feelings. So, writing the book also allows me to explain in detail what has transpired in my life and home so others with similar situations may benefit from my experiences. This is also a good way to for me to lovingly warn thrill seekers who seek the paranormal world – what you seek you may get. Ignorance is not reason enough to keep you safe from what could lead you into potentially serious harm that can seduce you away from the true meaning of life, God. Because as I stated. This is very real and a world we humans will never truly comprehend. You’ll understand what I mean as you read the book.
Ghosts are such a hot topic today! In the earlier days, people were labeled as witches
and those that could see and hear spirits were either crazy
or demonic
. Now it seems like our society has returned to spiritualism so popular in the 1930’s and we are free again to discuss this topic without fear of punishment by death or ostracizing from society. Each individual has their own belief system and I’m sure some, after reading my story will label me crazy
or touched
. It’s okay - all I know is what I have personally experienced and it is up to the individual reader to decide whether to believe or not to believe – it’s the reader’s personal choice.
I have been dealing with spirits and ghosts on a daily basis in our current home for ten years now. At first my entire family was in complete disbelief and slowly came to the realization that we had long staying guests in the home other than ourselves. Several of my family members choose to tune out
and remove themselves from the situation. It’s all about how we deal with what we get. I have chosen to learn from it and believe somehow God wants me to have this in my life. I choose to run toward it instead of running from it. Is this right or wrong? I really don’t know. I just continue to pray for guidance, understanding and protection from God whom I love so much.
I ponder these words often from Deuteronomy 18:9 (KJV):
(9) When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. (10) There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. (11) Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer (the practice of conjuring up spirits – considered as
Black Magic). (12) For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them from before thee.
How does this message affect my life?
I am not afraid because I have put my entire faith and trust in God and believe he will solve it.
I ask myself Am I a consulter with familiar spirits?
Yes, I suppose so. In the beginning I would try to ask them questions and find out why they were here. Sometimes I can hear them speak and I can see them. Now I am writing a book about my experiences with them. But in writing this book, please know it is not to glorify the ghosts in anyway. My reason is to let others know how to avoid the same pitfalls that I have incurred throughout this whole ordeal. The last thing I want is God’s punishment.
I do not believe I have conjured up the spirits in my house – they were already here. However my initial questions were What do I do with them?
Where can I find help and aid in dealing with them?
Why are they here?
Should I talk to them?
My answer lies in becoming a prayer warrior.
I also meditate for peace and protection from both God and my angels. When I am in dark places, I seek Jesus and have felt his powerful love and intervention.
Why do I talk about this?
Because what we have in our home is not living. It is clearly spirits of those who either by choice, or misfortune, did not make the journey home to God. They are dead. The Bible tells me the dead are dead – they have turned away from His light. We are either of God or in hell. Is this their hell? Do they care? Did they make this choice? Did God abandon them (I can’t believe He would do this)? Is it the Devil slowly creeping into our lives? These are very hard questions to ponder.
I ask myself what does that have to do with me?
The only answer I can find is that I feel God has put me in this position to either test my strength and belief in Him (which has not changed – He is and will always remain first in my life) or they are here for me to help them go to the light of God.
As I said before, what we each believe is a personal choice. This book is not intended to convert any individual into my way of thinking – it is a vehicle to share my experiences. I did not pick this path. This is not something I woke up one morning saying let’s go see what happens after you die
. I literally was thrust into this journey, and after many hours of prayer and thought, I have come to the conclusion that this must be God’s plan for me and so I must deal with it.
One other thing… I personally don’t like using the word haunt
because it sounds so negative. Instead I rather use visited
. Once you read this book you’ll understand why and why we call our space Ghost Sanctuary…
