About this ebook
Denys Cook

He was also boxing light heavyweight and lifeguarding for the Guards. Denys was then captured by the Germans for nearly 5 years at the beginning of WWII. He taught himself German, transcribed in shorthand a secret radio transmission to keep up the morale of his fellow prisoners and was released weighing only 98 lbs. (he was a 180 lb. light heavyweight boxer prior to the war).
