About this ebook

The Spirit of the Heart is a collection of poems with most written during late 2012 through mid-2013. Each of them resulted from personal thoughts and experiences and from studying Gods Word. Before writing down these words I processed them through my heart to be blessed by the Holy Spirit. With the Holy Spirit dwelling in the human heart, the heart opens up to the Truth of being. It takes practice, patience and faith to hear and understand as the Holy Spirit responds, conveys and directs the Truth through the magic of the heart. My hope is that each reader will use these poems as a guide and a catalyst to gain insight into the power and love of the Holy Spirit, who was sent as a Comforter by the love and grace of Jesus Christ.

    About The Author

    Introduction

In this, my third book of poetry, I want to explain why I have written many poems over the past thirty-five years. It all began when I was awakened in a dream one night and, having programed my subconscious mind to wake up when completing my dreams, I rose from my bed and wrote down what I had experienced. Over time, the more I followed this procedure, the more frequently it occurred. In most instances my dreams did not seem to be uniquely my own but rather had a divine origin. Like all developed talents and achievements, practice produces improved results. After programing my subconscious mind to awaken after dreaming, I subsequently learned to return to my subconscious mind most anytime I desired.

The poems I have written in many respects result from my life’s experiences and from the many self-improvement and success books I have studied as well as the Holy Bible. As more and more dreams and ideas flood my mind, the words and meanings flash forward and I document them through the poetic form. The truth of being speaks to show me who God is so I can emulate Him as fully as His will directs and allows. To fully understand the depth and workings of the mind of the Almighty is not something any of us are destined to accomplish. We can however, as faithful servants and believers, ask for His guidance and follow through on those tasks He has assigned to us so we can complete our part of His plan and will. Our assignment requires us to listen when He speaks and act in accordance with His instructions. Through His grace of forgiveness of our sins through the blood of His son Jesus Christ, He sent us His risen son as the Holy Spirit to dwell within us as a guide and comforter. Knowing this truth and experiencing His Spirit at work in us is what our life is all about. To experience the glory and the majesty of Almighty God is to accept the greatest gift He has freely given to each believer which is His love, both now and forever more. Since our time on earth is limited it is essential that the acceptance of Jesus Christ and the opening of our hearts and minds to His truth be accomplished as early as possible. This statement is true as you will discover when you allow His Spirit to dwell within you and His love to flood into your life. To grow and to prosper requires us to dream (not conform), to create (not compete), to aim high (not low), to attract (not pursue), and to love (not hate). We must learn to develop our own unique skills and we must work faithfully on ourselves. When we do this we get to glimpse at the Truth of who we are and move forward into the loving arms of our Father, Almighty God.
