About this ebook

Gods Children Are Crying

I pray, but nothing changes. I read my bible, but I am not comforted. If God is real, why do I feel so empty inside? And, if God loves me, why do I feel so alone?

These are the silent cries of Gods children. Many leave church in the same condition in which they came: broken, weary, lonely, and blind to their purpose for living. They come seeking relief from their spiritual ailments. They dont understand that the solutions they seek require their personal and active participation.

God still answers sincere prayer, heals the wounded, and puts lives back together. Things change, people change, but the Word of God remains sound and unchangeable in its instruction for everyday Christian living. It is we who forget that God is a Holy God who commands His children, and those who seek Him, to develop Christ-like character, behavior and standards of living. Holy is as Holy does Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. [1 Peter 1:16]

Forget the old clichs: Come as you are; God knows my heart; Nobodys perfect. To experience the fullness of Christ working in our lives, we must renew our pursuit of child-like faith. We must surrender all and desperately say My Soul Cries Holy, Holy, Holy.

Wanda J. Myers

Wanda J. Myers, known to many as Ms. Wanda, writes with the kind of passion that entices readers to take an exhilarating literary journey toward discovering their true self. Her words encourage readers to ponder life choices. Readers will be swept away by her straightforward honesty, touching empathy and great compassion derived through personal experiences and strong faith. Ms. Wanda erects an emotional mirror into the heartbeat of daily living, persuading the reader to get up-close and personal with the condition of their heart in order to wholeheartedly pursue emotional and spiritual well-being through sincere self-examination. Her favorite pastime as a young, avid reader was to write poetry and short stories. Her faith convinces her that everyone was created by God for a purpose. She boldly moves toward that which she believes she was created for … to encourage, inspire and help others break the yokes of stagnation that hinder emotional and spiritual growth. In 2007, under the leadership of her father, Dr. Leroy Greene, Sr. of Greater Solid Rock MBC in Kansas City, MO, she accepted her call into the ministry and created her website, ‘Speak True Life Ministries.com,’ to minister words of inspiration to others. Raised in Kansas City, KS, Ms. Wanda accepted Christ at Pleasant Green Baptist Church in her youth. She is a wife, mother, grandmother and Missionary who serves Christ beside her husband, Minister Paul Myers. Ms. Wanda stepped into the public speaking arena in 2010 as a participating clinician at the Sound of Worship Ministries Conference 2010 in Kansas City, Kansas, and again at the Fellowship District Women’s Prayer Retreat at Camp Palestine in Chilhowee, Missouri. She is excited about what God is doing in her life and invites her readers to come along on the journey.

    Foreword

    My Soul Cries …

During a period of earnest prayer, I was crying out to God for answers to a hardship I was facing. God had been dealing with me on some issues in my life that required an inward change in me if I were to walk upright on this Christian journey. In a moment of child-like surrender, I heard God whisper, "Why do my children want the best of what I have to offer, but they refuse to make the sacrifices necessary to prosper in Me, so that I can direct their paths and provide them with the desires of their hearts?"

As I thought about that, I recognized the truth in His words. We will grudgingly, but faithfully, work toward the material and tangible things we want in life. But, ask us to reach down deep into our hearts and work toward improving the quality of our distinct personalities, behavior and appearance to represent Christ as head of our life, and progress comes to a screeching halt in one sense or another.

The thought of changing how we love and treat others or how we deal with disappointments and setbacks is scary enough? But expose our weaknesses to gain strength or exchange the drama in our life for peace makes us ask, God, are you serious? Does it take all of that to serve you?

When our spirit cries out for change and we refuse to acknowledge the need to grow and mature spiritually, emotionally and intellectually, we are actually choosing to die and rot inwardly … to become spiritually handicapped, crippled people. How, then, can we be Holy?

The desires of Christ should become the desires of those who believe in Christ. To bring God glory and to be made useable for service requires that we be tried in those areas in which God intends to use our testimony as a ministry to others. For this reason …

    Dedications

All that I am is because of God. All that I aspire to become is because of God. Everything that has happened in my life in times past and in the present is because God allowed it. I know that my future is an adventurous journey waiting to happen, and because God will orchestrate everything by divine order, I give Him the utmost praise for my life in its entirety. It is by His grace and mercy that I am allowed to breathe and to dream. In all things, I give honor to God, who created me and continues to shape me and mold me into the likeness of Him.

"In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall

    direct thy paths." ~ Proverbs 3:6 ~

    Acknowledgments

None of us truly walks alone. There are people whom God has placed in our lives either for a season or a lifetime, but always for a purpose and reason. They are those who help us along our journey through life in some special way. So it is with the publishing of My Soul Cries… Holy, Holy, Holy.

To those special people, my family, who set the stage from which I make my debut I say, "God bless you and I thank our God for You!" I especially give thanks to: Paul W.A. Myers, my husband and my rock; Patricia Greene, my mentoring mother, moral teacher and sweetheart forever; Gwen Murphy, my sister and best friend who inspires me; and Aaron and Na’Tasha Murry, the blessings of my womb whose innocent love pushed me to always strive for better.

Special Acknowledgments: "The LORD is my strength and my shield…and I am helped…" (Psalm 28:7). God fulfilled this promise by surrounding me with true friends, each of who has proven themselves to be invaluable to me. To each, I say ‘I Love You, Girl,’ for sharing your wealth of strength with me through encouragement, honesty and for unconditionally offering me listening ears and spiritual wisdom.

Phyllis Edwards, Beverly Pender and Brenda Harris, my aunts, who never ceased to pour their wisdom into me as they cared for me and protected me in my mother’s absence; Cheryl Herviey-Baston, my inspiring fellow writer and lover of reading; Debra Venerable, my sister of faith and personal accountability guide who teaches me strength, fiery determination and humble generosity; Jean Kelly, my sister-in-law, a survivor with a true servant’s heart; and Stephanie Smith, my personal promoter, and foot soldier for Christ.

A Very Special Thanks: To Michaela Hussey, who graciously and unselfishly aided me in perfecting the presentation of My Soul Cries by allowing me to place my granddaughter, Kymora Nicole Murry, on the cover as the epitome of what child-like faith should look like for all saints.
