    Preface

T his book is intended as an introductory text on marriage issues. It grew out of my interest and concern for Christian singles of different statuses. The book presents a unique perspective of holiness and addresses the many circumstances and views that people encounter as they navigate through life. In the appendix at the end of the book, there is a list of frequently asked questions, answered from the Pentecostal perspective and scripture.

The time has come to share my story about a young, saved lady who really loved the Lord more than anything. Her life was one of perseverance and resilience that came from Jesus. No matter what obstacles she encountered, she stayed with God and kept the joy of the Lord, who is our strength.

This book depicts situations that many folks encounter in life, and it is meant to encourage singles of any status, whatever issues they may be dealing with. It discusses trials that Christian women and men endure, including bad experiences with marriage, separation, and divorce, as well as the frustration that singles face in waiting for the right one.

When individuals encounter such dilemmas, they need to know that they can prevail, even if they have nobody to converse with. In this manuscript, I have compiled a wealth of information based on scripture and life experience. Christian singles especially will find this book helpful.

    Acknowledgments

I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge my incredible, beloved husband, in whom I’m well pleased and who has stood by me. He is the love of my life, and that has been amazing. When I went in for surgery to remove a large tumor, he prayed for me and said, You are going to be all right. Time after time, he has prayed for others, and they have come out of the hospital and off their sickbeds.

Pastor John Westley Jackson Sr., a true man of God, has the gift of intercession. He is a wonderful, humble pastor with a concern for people and all his parishioners. He loves the Lord and God’s people. He is a gospel preacher I met back in the day, and he lived a celibate lifestyle for eight years. He was a sold-out man of God for the gospel of Jesus Christ, and a caregiver for his late wife, in sickness and in heath.

Thank God for my Pastors that imparted wisdom over the pulpit down through the years.

Some women of God have taken care of God’s clergy and their spouses at home while they were ill. Others were caregivers for family members. We are to give honor where honor is due.

Missionary T. Holman, Evangelist S. Jordan, and Missionary D. Eldridge all did a phenomenal job, so please applaud them at your earliest convenience. They stood by their spouses in sickness and in health, even when they encountered severe health issues. They were there for those men of God and for some of their family members.

Mrs. Brenda Austin’s family, Ms. K. Austin and her girls, the Manningham nieces, Mrs. T. Austin-Hughes and family took care of the Manninghams’ grandmother while she was incapacitated and prior to her coming home from the hospital. They also did the yard work. Thanks for your multiple efforts, Ms. Patricia Kirksey and Mr. & Mrs. Rob Kirksey Jr. family. Kevin and Tiff Kirksey took care of their mother. God will bless you for your efforts. The entire Willie Davis family and Scott and Shavers’ nieces and nephews and family took good care of Grandma Willie, M. Davis, and their mom and dad. JonJon, Richie, Josh DeMarr, you are phenomenal, you helped grandma Davis when she was ill. Mr. Joe E. Turner stood by everyone until the end during their demise.

The Mother Rovenia Bryant family that was an awesome caregivers for their Mother, I commend you for your multiple efforts, and excellent care you gave her. Thank you Marilyn for times you encouraged Mother Davis as well.

Missionary Nancy Austin and the Shaw family took excellent care of Mom P. Shaw. I thank everyone for their compassion. Kudos to you all.
