I am blessed! Jesus Christ has given me the unique opportunity to experience, enjoy and live a wonderful and prosperous life. I've traveled abroad. I've been a radio news reporter, financial wire reporter, taught grades from kindergarten through twelve, and had the pleasure of teaching community college. I currently teach seventh-grade science. I also present at conferences various teaching styles and instruction. Here's the best part: I share the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am grateful for beautiful parents that taught me to love the Lord at an early age. These two beautiful people are with the Lord, singing "Glory, glory, hallelujah, our God reigns!". It is this love for our Lord, which led my walk to The Elijah Moment. I am married and live on a farm in Ohio. Every day is a miracle on Miracle Ranch, our farm!

The Elijah Moment - Veronica Merchant

    1 Kings 18:16 – 40

There is an Elijah in all of us.

We are ordinary people performing extraordinary work for our LORD. We encounter unique opportunities being who we are and doing for our God. During these times are when we are the most strongest and yet most vulnerable.

We can pray and move mountains, heal the sick, and miraculously call upon our God in Jesus name and receive and perform miracles. Yes, while the miracle is still in place and before we can exhale another breath; we come face to face with Jezebel.

Just like Elijah we run, we hide, and sometimes we wish that our gifts and talents were not ours. Please God call on someone else to complete this project.

Just like Elijah, we are Warriors for God. We are special ops for our LORD. We travel light, carrying only the Word of God, a small circle of intercessory warriors, God’s Holy angels as our six (the person protecting our back, the Holy Spirit as our guide, and praying with passion in the name of Jesus Christ.

We receive daily marching orders from God. Our goal is simple. Win souls for our LORD by daily living and praying and following God’s orders.

Journey with me and other as we do extraordinary work for our LORD; remember to put on your armor of God: Ephesians 6: 10 – 17 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

    Drafted – Holy Spiritual Armor

You are officially drafted into the God’s Prayer Warrior Army.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Put on the whole armor of God—AND STAND—helmet of salvation, cover your loins (nieces and nephews look this word up in the dictionary) with truth, breastplate of righteousness, feet covered with the gospel of peace, carrying the shield of faith, AND carry AND use the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God!

We do spiritual warfare by taking authority over the sicknesses of mind and body and spirit. We do spiritual warfare by coming against every mountain that hinders our progress in God!

We will not go quietly! I will stand in fight! WE will stand in fight! We will come against the giants (sickness and disease), the mountains (finances), the Jezebels (societal attacks), the hindering spirits (anything else not named) against God! We will stand in fight! WE are victorious in Jesus’ name!

Now go out and be a blessing!

Psalms 41:1a Blessed is he that considers the poor; the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.

Sometimes we think that trouble is bunches and munches of adversity—well trouble can be anything that takes our mind off our LORD. Let us during our distractions today (they can be many) lift up the poor, the missionary, and needy in prayer and therefore place our minds on the Lord Jesus!

Bless our comings and goings, heal our bodies, bless the families without heat this morning to find the resources or services to provide heat in Jesus’ name.

Now go out and (you are) be a blessing!

My prayer is that our God will prosper your soul as He prosper your health, spiritual growth, and finances—in Jesus’ name. Amen!

A habit is formed by performing an activity everyday for 21 days. I believe that this is the 8th day of our joy together. Imagine—if we would take 2 people to pray for daily, we will have a threesome in which the Holy Spirit is dwelling within. In Jesus’ name may we have more than enough for today—the more than enough are the things that God has given to us to perform for Him—His desires for His people. Praying for that man that cuts us off in traffic, a news story on TV sharing the sadness of a family –

More importantly praying for your needs, your desires, your wants—may our God bless us indeed, may He enlarge our borders, may He place His hands upon us to keep ALL evil away from us and give us peace, and on this date our God answered our prayers in Jesus’ name.

Now go out and (you are) be a blessing!

Psalm 103:2 Bless the Lord, O my soul and forget not all His benefits.

The glass is half full –contentment is truly a matter of attitude. Happiness is dependent on circumstances.

Science lesson 101 – contentment is an independent variable –many things may change in your life, however the variable remains simply as contentment. Contentment changes over time – great contentment / little contentment / however still contentment.

Happiness is a dependent variable – it truly depends on the circumstances and the perspective of the happiness for the individual.

Psalm 103:2 Bless the Lord, O my soul and forget not all His benefits.

Our glass is truly half full ALL the time AND full—running over with God’s blessing—shaken down, running over—truly running over—protection from our God—protection running over—health from our God—health running over. We thank you O God for your many blessings! Hallelujah you are our GOD!

We thank you dear Lord for a half full glass! We thank you for being God in our lives! We thank you for controlling every situation and every circumstance; and therefore we can say like the psalmist in

Psalm 103:2 Bless the Lord, O my soul and forget not all His benefits.

Now go out and (you are) be a blessing!

Whatever the prophets of Baal; health, finances, employment, unsaved individuals, or the rude salesperson or the driver that cuts you off and flips the bird at you, it does not matter. We will speak with authority. Remember, we do spiritual warfare by demon expulsion. Wherever we find evil forces at work, WE FIRMLY DEMAND THAT THEY LEAVE! Remember you have a job to do today.

    I Kings 18

On Mt. Carmel Elijah called the power of God to burn the altar. Like Elijah we recognize certain key points: 12 stones, 1 for each tribe of Israel or for your ministry, acknowledge who God is – praise God for the historical aspects of your life (saved family members present and past, previously won battles, waking up this morning the list goes on), and now grab that weapon of prayer!

PRAY WITH AUTHORITY! PRAY LIKE YOU MEAN IT! PRAY LIKE YOU NEED! I AM TOUCHING AND AGREEING WITH YOU FOR YOUR NEED(S) AS YOU ARE PRAYING AND TOUCHING AND AGREEING WITH ME FOR MY NEEDS!

Now go out and (you are) be a blessing!

Fireteam – small unit of soldiers

Rest – take a moment to observe animals in their habitat; when you do you will notice that there is always one in the pack or the herd that watches for danger/predator(s) while the others eat, rest, or nurse.

Today if you rest, remember to check with a member of the fireteam to keep watch for you. Don’t worry – I’ve got your back!

I am that member – my prayer for you that our Lord God prospers you and you be in good health, even as your soul prospers. I John 3:2. And the eyes of the Lord are over you, and his ears are open unto your prayers: but the face of the Lord is against then that do evil. I Peter 3:12. And the prayer of the faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise them up. James 5:15a.

Now go out and (you are) be a blessing!

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Submission – soldiers submit to the authority of their general, their commander in chief, and leaders above them in their command. We submit to the Lord Jesus! Hallelujah our God reign. Hallelujah, He is mighty! Hallelujah and Amen.

Now go out and (you are) be a blessing!

Phillippians 2:14 Do all things without murmurings and disputing (complaining):

Cleaning the latrine (bathroom) is not my favorite job. However if I clean the bathroom knowing that the Lord will use my latrine (bathroom) when it is finished; now that’s another story!

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men; Colossians 3:23

You are probably wondering what these verses have to do with The Elijah Moment – I am too! The Holy Spirit will reveal all when it is time.

Okay, soldiers – now go out and (you are) be a blessing!

    Never give up!

Sometimes the daily job of (the giant, opposition, burden, health, finances, the battle, the kids, the traffic, the commute) can be a challenge or frustrating, or difficult, or a dog gone dig in and fight every step of the way!

Remember what one warrior did and said in the face of his opposition. Nehemiah was building the wall –

Nehemiah 4:4 – He prayed to God, gave the situation to God, and then told the critics – he was too busy to come down off that ladder to deal with the petty.

Gear up soldier – laugh in their face (the joy of the Lord is our strength. Nehemiah 8:10) – let’s get the job done! Remember Warrior’s Cry V, we are doing this for the Lord!

Now go out and (you are) be a blessing!

Matthew 18:19—Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.

Gratitude – aren’t you grateful that I am not the general –intelligently giving orders; or the sergeant – barking out orders.

I’m in the trenches with you – praying with you –interceding with you – or interceding for you!

I thank God for you! You are my mission today. Pray your concern, the Holy Spirit will give it to my heart. I will intercede on your behalf.

Wait – in the name of Jesus give my fellow grunt wisdom, discernment, health—healing, prosperity in spirit of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Now go out and (you are) be a blessing!

Matthew 6:6 Jesus said, Here’s what I want you to do. Find a quiet secluded place so you won’t be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace.

Bless the soldiers, dear Lord, bless them to find the secluded place in their lives today, to be honest in their spiritual emotions and therefore begin to experience your grace. Please grow in the Elijah moment – we are under the Juniper tree waiting to be fed by the angel because the journey is too great for us to take without being fed by the Lord.

I don’t know where your journey is today, please comrade rest and be fed in Jesus’ name. Whatever the feeding is – wisdom, discernment, financial, health, spiritual, strength, joy, peace, overcoming the enemy,—enjoy the meal before the journey!

Now go out and (you are) be a blessing!

Ephesians 6:17 b – c the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God:

A powerful weapon – a weapon is only as powerful as the soldier wielding the weapon. You are resting under the Juniper tree being fed by the angel, preparing for the journey, and eventually a battle.
