About this ebook

Fadekes story in Little-by-Little is indeed an account of Gods miraculous healing power in a way that shows the sovereignty of God in the affairs of men. I have seen the power of God demonstrated amidst her challenges; I have witnessed firsthand her complete dependence on God and her courage in the face of daunting medical diagnoses. Her story confirms that medicine does not contradict faith, but rather that faith actually supports and enhances medical procedures. I have come to realise that the times when God brings gradual healing actually requires a strong stand of faith on His word over a period of time. Fadeke has clearly demonstrated that the issue of gradual healing is no less spectacular a miracle than instantaneous healing. Dr. Tony Rapu

This book is dedicated to my husband

    Adesola Adepetun

A man who has demonstrated integrity and love by sticking

to the vow he made several years ago:

‘To love and to cherish, in sickness and in health . . .’

I love you very much and words cannot express my appreciation for your love and support over the years especially during the times when I walked through the

valley of the shadow of death.

The victory is very much yours, as it is mine.

fIRST I GIVE ALL THANKS TO THE ALMIGHTY GOD WHO has kept me alive in divine health to write the story of my life, despite all the challenges that I have been through.

My sincere appreciation goes to one of my editors, Mrs Abiola Idowu-Ojo of Adepetun, Caxton-Martins, Agbor and Segun who managed to squeeze in some time within her busy schedule to edit the first draft of this book.

I acknowledge the sacrifices and anxieties of my two children, Reni and Tomiwa, who many times had to pray hard and trust God for His mercy and healing power upon their mother.

I owe a debt of gratitude to family members and friends for their prayers and support through each and every one of my challenges.

Finally, I cannot but fully express my gratitude to my husband Adesola, the most astonishingly supportive man I have ever known, who spent sleepless nights editing this book to ensure its perfection.

    Foreword

    separator.jpg

dURING THE YEARS I PRACTICED AS A MEDICAL DOCTOR in Lagos, Nigeria, I was privileged to see God work in many wonderful ways saving, healing, delivering and restoring many patients who came to the clinics where I worked.

I have seen people experience instantaneous healings and have seen others receive their healings gradually. I have often times been perplexed about my exact role with regards to faith and medicine. A doctor prescribes medication or an appropriate surgical procedure to bring about healing and restoration, but as a spirit-filled Christian and pastor, I also believe in supernatural healing. Over the years however, I have realised that the best physicians know in their hearts that their knowledge and skills must be enforced in collaboration with powers beyond their own.

Fadeke’s story in Little-by-Little is indeed an account of God’s miraculous healing power in a way that shows the sovereignty of God in the affairs of men. I have seen the power of God demonstrated amidst her challenges; I have witnessed firsthand her complete dependence on God and her courage in the face of daunting medical diagnoses. Her story confirms that medicine does not contradict faith but rather that faith actually supports and enhances medical procedures. I have come to realise that the times when God brings gradual healing actually requires a strong stand of faith on His word over a period of time. Fadeke has clearly demonstrated that the issue of gradual healing is no less spectacular a miracle than instantaneous healing.

Many people are misinformed about what the Bible teaches regarding faith and healing; many feel that by ignoring the problem they are demonstrating faith. According to this fallacy, if you confess what is wrong with you or admit that you have a problem, you are making a bad confession and therefore you are lacking in faith. When Jesus said ‘whosoever shall speak to this mountain . . .’, he first identified the presence of a mountain; an obstacle, a problem, a sickness or disease that is standing in your way and hindering your spiritual progress. According to Jesus, you are demonstrating your faith when you do something about your mountain. You are supposed to use the word of God and bring it under subjection.

What Fadeke has shown in this book is that the word of God acted on in faith has the power to change natural circumstances including sickness and disease.

    Introduction

i HAVE ALWAYS MENTIONED CASUALLY TO PEOPLE THAT I

could actually write a book on the numerous medical challenges that I went through over a period of nineteen years, even though in reality, I thought it would be an impossible feat for me to achieve since writing has never been one of my favourite past times. The statement, when made in the past, has therefore only been used to demonstrate the goodness and sovereign power of the Almighty God in my life.

Although I have given my testimony about God’s healing power in my life several times in the past and in different places, I have, on more than one occasion in recent years, had a leading to collate my story into a book; but then I had always pushed the thought away as definitely not being an instruction from God and I had numerous reasons to believe this, including the fact that (a) I do not have a flair
