About this ebook
Evan Mychal Smith
Evan Mychal Smith is a fearless, young voice in the literary world. He paints pictures of his past, present, and future in ways that are both convincingly vivid and relatable. To read Evan's work is to know him and understand him. He often colors outside the lines of traditional poetry and blurs the boundaries of poetry, prose, and music, but what always comes across clear and pure is genuine emotion and creativity. Reading his work is like taking a long, hard look at yourself.

It’s 3 a.m. and the world is mine.
I have confessed for the first time that this universe is mine and I control anything and everything that happens inside of it. I make my own rules and regulations and there is no such thing as an outside source. There is only one source . . . me. I will speak into existence all that I desire because my desires have been given to me by the Divine. My heart is pure and my intentions reflect that. This gift I was given is not to be wasted and I refuse to waste another drop of talent. I will take writing seriously for as long as writing exists. I will only accept love and happiness and forms of the sort in my life from here on out. Anything else is wholly and entirely unacceptable and will absolutely not be permitted. I will speak with conviction. My voice can reduce mountains to rubble and cast out opposing spirits with no more than a whisper. Any tongue that speaks out against me shall be tormented and twisted into its own trap. I am not at equal level with anyone. I stand alone at the highest level possible because I am the creator of the life I live and I have been given these powers by the Divine. My touch can heal sickness, mentally, physically, and spiritually. Each word that I write down possesses an equal portion of my soul which is in turn renewed by my art. Those who choose to read these words will have no choice but to feel the energy that is encased within.
I am born
