About this ebook

A stunningly honest testimony of a woman who survived a life-threatening illness and was saved eternally in the process.

Dr. Brian Campbell, Christian Psychologist
Author of Pearls: Scriptures to Live By; Godly Counsel: Scriptures for Todays World; Christlike: Walking the Walk

This uplifting memoir chronicles the journey of a remarkable woman who was able to overcome an unhappy childhood, failed marriages, and a serious brain injury through her faith, connection with the Holy Scriptures and a supportive family. Interlaced with relevant Scripture references, readers will find this book inspirational and encouraging for anyone who needs hope during difficult times.

Rev. Brinda LeBleu, Assistant Pastor of First United Methodist Church of Oviedo

This is a fast-paced and deceptively simple testimony of faith in Gods grace and forgiveness that is a must-read for anyone who thinks they are beyond the bounds of grace or who has difficulty in seeing Gods goodness in the midst of trouble. Reflecting back on her life, Michelle shares an intimate picture of her coming of age, teen-age marriage, abortions, remarriage, motherhood, divorce and the brain surgery that changed everything. With humor and unapologetic honesty the reader can easily see the hand of God at work, guiding, correcting, holding, His daughter as she travels from simple belief toward full surrender to Him. It is a story full of love for family and friends and an expression of joy and deep gratitude for the life she now lives in the Lord. What a good read. Let the journey continue!

Rev. Mary Isaacs Frost, Pastor, Shady Hills United Methodist Church

To my beloved sons, Erik and Christian, and to my dearest mom. I love you beyond anything words can express, and you are my gifts from God.

    Foreword

This book was written, with the Holy Spirit’s leading, to first and foremost glorify the Lord. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer (Psalm 19:14). I wish to give a testimony of how God’s grace has blessed me through my lifetime and brought me to Him. It’s my deepest hope in sharing my sinful past that others will know that no matter who they are, what they’ve done, or how they are feeling, they can turn to Jesus in prayer, confess their sins, and ask Him into their hearts as their Lord and Savior. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17). I also wish to give encouragement to anyone facing brain surgery, experiencing paralysis, or living with depression, anxiety, or a brain/head injury. I can do all things through Jesus Christ, who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).

    Acknowledgments

I praise God our heavenly Father, Jesus Christ His son, and the Holy Spirit, our guide and comforter. I give the Lord all the glory, honor, and praise.

My love and heartfelt thanks to Erik and Christian. I’m so very thankful that He chose you as my sons. You were and remain the motivation for my being victorious. A very special thank you, sons, for believing in me to accomplish what I felt compelled to write for God’s glory.

To my mom, Carole DiPinto: thank you for planting the seeds with the title for my book. To the memory of my dad, Louis DiPinto: I’m so grateful for your love and for training me up in the way I should go (Proverbs 22:6) all through my life. A special thank you, Mom, for pushing me beyond what I thought I could do—to the completion of my endeavor. To my biological father, Arthur Sinopoli: I’m so very grateful for you always being there for me and for your grandsons. And a special thank you for your encouragement throughout the writing of my manuscript.

Thank you to my sister Jill and to Jon, Dan, my sister Jackie and my brother-in-law Billy, to my brother Billy and sister-in-law Stephany, to my five nieces and six nephews, and to Becky, John, and Bonnie. Special thanks to my sisters for helping me to keep moving forward and to stay motivated with the dream of writing my book.

To the memory of my grandparents: Marguerite and William, Monroe, Diana and Alfonso, and Elena and Romolo. To my Uncle Dick and Aunt Carol, Aunt Edith, and Uncle Al. To all my cousins and to the memory of all my aunts and uncles who have gone on to be with the Lord. To the Freed family, and to the memory of Aunt Marjorie, Uncle Jack, and Grandma Marge. I am thankful for our extended family and my dearest friends: Jan and Mike, Donna and Sam, and Frankie and Wayne. Thank you also to my dear friends Fran, Georgette, and Sue. To Chris and Bob, as well as their family, and for the many other friendships that have touched my heart. I love you all, and I’m so grateful that we are all connected through Him as family, as extended family, and as friends. I’m also thankful for all our vacations spent with you at your homes, and I thank God for each of you being in my, Erik, Becky, and Christian’s lives.

I thank the Lord, and thank you so very much Donna, Frankie, Jan, Sue, Mary, and Jean for being my cheerleader girlfriends. I’m so grateful to you Jean, for helping me wrap up the loose ends of my manuscript with your fine tooth comb proof reading, and with the final edits. To my new friend
