About this ebook

Can we use words to make ourselves feel and actually be
better? Michael Morrison certainly thinks so, and in this
insightful guide he tells us about the transformational
power of language. In doing so, he delves into such
concepts as neuro-linguistic programming (NLP),
Lamarckian evolution theory, the Biology of Belief, Cell-
Level Healing, the power of prayer (in health as well as
sickness), the Gaia Hypothesis, and Earth Hour.
As current concerns move from the individual to the
global, our well-being is seen as holistic rather than
localised. Can we use positive thoughts and frame positive
words to change ourselvesand ultimately help our
world flourish? Read Prisoner of Words and discover a
new approach to old problems.

Michael E Morrison

For over a quarter century, Michael E Morrison was a robotic disciple of Western medicine, relying on the latest wonder drug to treat his cystic fibrosis. He reached his nadir with conventional medicine when the head consultant referred to him as “Twiggy,” and he realized that the treatments were often making him worse, not better. He began looking at alternative therapies, which understand the totality of illness. He embarked on a spiritual journey, learning techniques to unlock the physician within.

    INTRODUCTION

    This title has played in my head for the last year. We are living in a world of our own creation. Is it heaven or hell, life-denying or life-affirming, happy or sad? The choice is as simple as you choose. Abraham Lincoln once said that ‘people were just about as happy as they made up their minds to be’. If people only realised that we have the tools for a wonderful life, and that it can start right now by changing the record of repeated self-defeating negative messages we constantly feed our unconscious, a positive, self-affirming, utopian Garden of Eden would blossom, creating heaven on earth. Heaven is right here, right now and we can choose to live in this Dionysian dynasty of our own making or follow the path of penury, believing that our rewards will be in the next life. Which one do you choose?

    By ‘following your bliss’ and listening to your heart’s desire, you are entering the gates of heaven. For heaven is your heart’s desires being realised. In this jamboree of joy, we are being true to our hearts and ourselves, and that is when the dancer and the dance become one.

    CHAPTER ONE

    Prisoner of Words

    Your beliefs become your thoughts;

    Your thoughts become your words;

    Your words become your actions;

    Your actions become your habits;

    Your habits become your values;

    Your values become your destiny.

    Gandhi

    Reading the above quote from Gandhi teaches us the importance of tracking our thoughts. Eckhart Tolle refers to employing a ‘watchman’ in The Power of Now. By that he means being a guardian to our mind’s chatterbox and casting a watchful eye over our negative states. By employing the ‘watchman’, we welcome in only the good positive energies. We all have negative thoughts, but the important thing is not to let them
