Introduction
When I moved away from Oregon, I left many wonderful friends behind. With the guidance, dedication, and eagerness of Dr. Bonnie McDowell, I delved into the unknown. Together Bonnie and I began our journey into the world of healing on an energetic level. We both admitted we weren’t sure if we believed in this sort of thing, but we wanted to give it a try, so we went to Seattle for a weekend of training in Reiki, beginning my personal journey to self-healing and rebirth.
Bonnie is a chiropractor who has had training in acupuncture, so she is very knowledgeable about the energetic body. The idea that we can manipulate, fortify, and cleanse the body by using intention and meditation is where we both struggled. That was back in 2000. Today, just twelve years later, this idea has permeated every city, large and small, with thousands of studies to support it.
I have seen the most amazing miracles using the energy of the body. In places around the world, family members do regular energy treatments for each other. I believe America—where families are struggling and people are frustrated with the health-care system—can become a more content society by adopting these simple practices.
My intention here is to show readers that I am very much like them. I have my ups and downs and health challenges, each of which I have learned to use to develop a better relationship with myself and to see my weaknesses. By recognizing my weaknesses, I can change them to strengths.
I hope to encourage my readers to formulate a solid plan of service in their minds and hearts and then go with the flow without losing sight of their original goal. A plan to serve is important because that is the innate desire of the soul and that’s what gives our soul the most joy. Flowing with the ups and downs is important because when we rebel against the challenges of life, our body’s functionality suffers. I believe these challenges are put in our path specifically to give us something we came here to receive. Instead of being open to these divine signals we usually fight them kicking and screaming.
We hold on to our plans, thoughts, and beliefs so tightly that we block the energy flow along our meridians, or bio-electric channels. That doesn’t mean we cannot work toward making improvements. It means trusting and working with the plan of God and/or the intelligence of the universe. This trust is very hard for us to do. We have been disappointed too many times. By letting go of the idea that life is supposed to always be easy and accept the ups and downs, tension in our bodies melts away, our meridians open up, our ability to heal begins to restore, and we start living the life we came here to live.
The only doctors and scientists finding the causes of chronic disease are the ones willing to look at the energy of the body. Einstein told us a hundred years ago everything is energy. It is time we believe him.
I don’t want readers to take my word for anything. I want to inspire them to prove it to themselves. I encourage my readers to check into the most recent interviews by our greatest thinkers today: Dr. Deepak Chopra, Dr. Bruce Lipton, Dr. Norm Shealy, Donna Eden, Dr. Daniel Amen, Ilchi Lee, Gregg Braden, Stephen Hawking, Candice B Pert, and more. All of the ideas herein have come from people who are far greater than me and new evidence and discoveries are occurring regularly.
I see so much unnecessary suffering around me. I have gathered here information that has the ability to reveal the truth of God‘s extraordinary world, bring healing to those in pain, and bring families and couples closer together. I have gathered here many simple techniques and the evidence of their worth. It is up to the reader to implement them into everyday life. Healing occurs much faster when the healing pathways are kept open, or opened immediately after an injury. Instead, we usually choose to wait it out, slowing healing and perhaps even adding to the original injury significantly. These techniques can make the difference between healing quickly, healing slowly, and not healing at all.
The information I have gathered shows that life is so much bigger than what we have been taught. It also has the ability to revolutionize our health-care system. More importantly, it has the ability to clear away our fears and restore health, freedom, and wholeness.
Dear Bonnie
There is a lot to catch you up on about my life at the Lake of the Ozarks. With the following, I hope to show how I have learned to create the life of my dreams while helping others do the same. We think of living the life of our dreams as impossible because of the hand we have been dealt. I want to reveal the proof here that it is entirely possible. Its success depends on the degree to which we are willing to commit to making it happen.
We did not come here during these times of extraordinary change to live mediocre lives. We came to live life to its fullest! For most of us, that simply means getting out of our own way. Our bodies are designed to heal fully and completely and give us clues to our strengths and weaknesses. By learning to listen to what it has to say, we can learn to embrace our weaknesses so they no longer hold us back. That sounds risky, but it is actually empowering—again, to the degree to which we are willing to embrace it. The end result is a deeper relationship and love affair that allows pain to melt away from our body.
I want to show how an improved relationship with our physical self and learning to read the messages of our bodies open the door to unlimited possibilities and show an alternative to the drugs and surgeries that are so rampant here in the United States. To accomplish this goal, I have included many simple exercises and experiments. Their effectiveness will be difficult for even the biggest skeptics to dispute.
Some people will find it hard to believe even when they see it with their own eyes, but a willingness to try these self-administered tests will open up a whole new world of unlimited possibilities! Some of these experiments were difficult for me to believe myself; however, their ease in duplication makes them undeniable.
I have been blessed with opportunities to learn some very simple yet life-changing techniques. Each one of these techniques has been given credit for miraculous healings. I have seen healing happen overnight; however, it usually requires a commitment to making necessary changes. I hope to inspire in my readers a commitment to go for a life full of prosperity, health, and mutually beneficial and harmonious relationships.
Some of these techniques work on everyone. Others work great for one person but are useless for another, so I have included many different choices. It all begins with a willingness to learn and then to implement these learnings into everyday life.
We create our own lives. Many of us don’t want to believe that. If we create our own lives, that means we are also responsible for what doesn’t go well in them. We would much rather blame someone or something else. We want to believe it’s the government’s fault everything is falling apart or that heredity caused an illness or it was just bad luck. I want to encourage people to consider the possibility that we are the only ones who are responsible for who we are, including our health, our finances, and our relationships. Quantum physicists are proving this to be true and the evidence is summarized in the following chapters. Imagine the power that gives each one of us!
Our bodies feel everything: every thought, every hope, and every belief. As a result, they are always speaking to us. We listen when our body speaks with hunger pangs. With anything else, we fear something serious is wrong, and fear is seldom a good response to anything. It makes us bury the symptom deep inside rather than address it when it may be as simple as an emotion that needs to be processed instead of buried. At other times we simply don’t have time to deal with a new pain. We have too much to do and deadlines to meet, so we get a prescription that treats the symptom instead of discover the real problem.
Today neurotransmitters can measure every thought in our head and track them into the body. We know that our thoughts are formulated in the limbic system behind the forehead and then travel along our meridians to predictable places. The Chinese have always known this and assigned specific emotions to each meridian thousands of years ago. It is hard for us to imagine how the Chinese did this without modern technology; however, they simply had a much better relationship with their bodies.
I recently had the opportunity to experience this myself. I was getting extremely frustrated over computer problems when suddenly it felt like someone stabbed me on the side of my thigh with a knife. I realized it was exactly on an acupuncture point known as Gall Bladder 32. The ancient Chinese philosophy states frustration travels along the gall bladder meridian and a common point of accumulation is GB32! Therefore, I completely understand the possibility that our distant ancestors were so in touch with their bodies that they could feel every thought and emotion travel throughout every meridian.
Dr. Bradley Nelson’s book, The Emotion Code, discusses how these emotions often get stuck in the body and causes chronic pain and disease. If we think back throughout our lives, most of us can remember one or a thousand different times when our heart ached for one reason or another. Emotions like this get locked up within the heart, as well as other organs, if we don’t know what to do with them.
Through decades of research Dr. Bruce Lipton explains in his books The Biology of Belief and The Wisdom of Your Cells, that our emotions cause strokes, heart attacks, cancer, and more. He says that our mind is actually more powerful than the drugs we take. With this information we can move away from our feelings of victimhood, and move into empowerment.
Masaru Emoto has written at least two books about how our thoughts and beliefs change the physical characteristics of water, Love Thyself and The Hidden Messages in Water. Our bodies are made up of at least 70% water, so his work shows
