About this ebook
Navashia' Akins
My name is Navashia' Akins and I currently live in North Little Rock, Arkansas. I grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas with my single mom and my 3 younger siblings. I am also the daughter of a guy who always long to have a relationship with me, and the daddy that was placed in his place. I am a wife and a mother of two children. I love to express myself. Pray about it is my first collection of poems. I really was confused on how I wanted to get my poetry out into the world to see what type of response I will get from the things that are on my heart. I am a loving person and I hate not being able to help a person especially in need. I have grown up to believe that God wants us to pray about things and also share our burdens so we can be healed. I used to want to take my life because I felt condemned living and I will always hear people tell me to pray about it and sometimes I wish they would keep that phrase to themselves, because them saying that doesn’t help me. The things that are close to my heart is surrounded around the condition of humankind. My poems will be insight for the reader to be able to connect with my dream of becoming a writer to give a voice to the things that make us psychotic. I have grown up to believe that God wants us to pray about situations, and share our burdens and the burdens of others. I believe these things are necessary for healing and restoration. I searched for poetry that I could gain inspiration from, and spoke to me and my life situations but never found any. In my darkest days my search for that type of poetry ended when I looked within myself and realized God's light shining within me to write this type of poetry in the midst of my troubles. So this is for the individuals who felt alone like I have before. I hope through my poetry and life lessons you know that you are not alone. My prayers are that you receive strength and learn of God's love and truth in the midst of your situations. May you find freedom to live without denial and trusting in God for your future! God Bless!
