From an Officer's Wife
()
About this ebook
In this heartfelt book, she recounts the typical experiences of a police officer through her own eyes. She approaches the book with various elements, taking into account common reactions from citizens, officers, their families, and those who make the decisions as well. She also taps into her life with her former husband, as she opens up from a wife's perspective, reliving her fears, violent encounters, and the ruins that she and her family faced as a result of the experiences that he encountered on the job.
From an Officers Wife tackles a wide range of topics often left untouched or swept under the rug in the police community, soliciting a variety of emotions from pain, anger, happiness, fear, and sadness. This book will touch the hearts of many and has something for anyone who has ever had a personal relationship with a law enforcement officer.
Claudine Barbot
Claudine Barbot, a graduate of Bowie State University, has been writing for about 18 years. Although she holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Criminal Justice, writing has always been her number one passion. She loves to write all genres, most specifically romance, fantasy, and fiction. However, poetry is dearest to her heart. She began writing as a mere hobby, but somewhere along the way, it developed into an intense need and passion. In her very limited free time, she likes to mastermind works of art and finds herself always brainstorming her next project. She derives her inspiration from life in general, be it her children, nature, an emotional experience, or just every day occurrences. In light of this, she gives full credit to God. With Him all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). Currently, she has several completed manuscripts; one of which will be released later this year as well. When she is not writing, she is teaching full time. She has been in the field of education for seven years and has had the pleasure of working with children from pre-k to sixth grade. Outside of work and writing, she is a full time mother to three beautiful children. "From an Officer's Wife" will be her first release.

About the Author
This book was created based on actual situations that are encountered by police officers regularly.
I take into account my former husband’s experiences and relay them as though I were in his shoes. I also approach it from a wife’s perspective and recount personal experiences from my own life as the wife of a police officer.
I’d like to dedicate this book to the many brave men and women who protect our streets on a daily basis.
All prayer references are found in the book The Power Of A Praying Wife, by Stormie Omartian
I
In an Officer’s Words
On My Way to Work
On my way to work once more
I leave them with the fear
In my mind the thought is real
that tomorrow I may not be here
I ask the Lord to keep me
and walk with me every day
To help me in my judgment
and guide me on my way
I ask to see them all once more
the thought brings me to tears
I cannot imagine what their life would be
with mine cut short by so many years
On my way to work once more
I lend my life to You
Please shelter me from harm
today, and the whole way through
I also ask for protection
from having to cause pain
Although the issue may arise
I would much rather refrain
On my way to work once more
I kiss them all goodbye
And in my heart I wonder
will this be the last time?
With all my soul I trust You
what happens is my fate
But still I have to ask You Lord
to keep me… for their sake
On my way to work again
I count my many blessings
I anticipate what will occur
and hope to walk away with those lessons
As I face the streets unsheltered
from the dangers that it holds
My life, I place within Your hands
as I protect, serve, and patrol
A Word of Thanks
I don’t think I could have made it
without you by my side
When I needed you the most
You were always down to ride
Didn’t think it would be so hard
I thought I’d be alone
As the days turned to weeks
you continuously proved me wrong
Some offered me a shoulder
others a place to be
So that I wouldn’t be consumed
by the thoughts plaguing me
Whether in a phone call, or a visit
you were always there
Often taking on my problems
really showing that you
