    DEDICATION

I dedicate this book to my mother. I remember when I first told her that I was answering the call to the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She told me that she had prayed all through the years that her sons would be fishers of men. Her oldest son lost his life in combat in WWII . Her youngest son was retarded; so the mantle fell on me. I was the answer to her prayers.

I also want to dedicate this book to Eva, my companion for over sixty years, before the Lord called her home. The numbers of children she led to the Lord over the years of our ministry are recorded in heaven.

    PREFACE

When I was a child it was my belief that you only got saved in church. That was what I was observing. I knew that I needed to be saved. But I thought if I was to be saved it would have to be in the Big Meeting (revival). So I kept saying to myself, maybe I will get saved this year. But year after year went by and I was still lost .I was thirteen when I was saved in the big meeting.

I never heard any preacher preach abut being soul winners. Never did I hear of anyone joining the church that had been saved anywhere, except in church.

I observed the lost making their way to the front pew , called the mourners’ bench. There they were weeping and wailing, begging God to save them. Some called it praying through, as if God was saying. Now you have shed enough tears and begged long enough . I am going to forgive you and save you.

Now I am not against tears . But they are not necessarily a sign that a person has repented of their sins. I have lead many a soul to Christ. That did not weep, some rather laughed with joy or other reactions.

Just remember that God is more interested in saving sinners than the sinner is interested in being saved. God states in His word not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

    INTRODUCTION

Jesus called humble fishermen saying, come follow me and I will make you to become fishers of men. They forsook their nets and followed Him, even though we see them later back at their occupation.

I believe every born again Christian desires to see others come to Christ. That is the first thing I believe that the Holy Spirit imparts in the heart of the new believer. I remember the night that Eva, my wife was saved. We started home and she said, we can’t go home right now. When I asked her why, she told me that we had to stop at our neighbor’s home and find out if they were saved. Her witness led to their salvation a few days later. The nurses in the hospital, and in the rest home shared with me that she had witnessed to them before the Lord called her home.

One of the short comings of our churches today is the failure of equipping the saints with instructions on how to become soul winners.

I realize that very few are interested. If we only train a few , it will be better than what most churches are doing. It is my prayer that this book with some practical instruction will be used of the Lord in seeing souls saved. What I am sharing with the reader is what I have used as a fisher of men, women, youth, and children.

    LET’S GO SOUL WINNING

Before I share with you instructions which will equip you with what you can use to bring the lost to Christ. I would like to share a few experiences. Ones that I have had in my life since I led my first soul to Christ as a one on one experience. I started going visiting with my pastor and observed his witnessing. But the first person that I personally led to Christ was in jail, a black man, which I shared the gospel with through the bars. I don’t remember who the next person was that I led to Christ on a one on one experience.

Here are a few that I do remember that I hope will inspire you to want to become a soul winner. These are not in chronological order. Just some that stand out in my memory. Some I like to think about.

I remember Willard. We were having one of the greatest revivals in the history of the church where I was the pastor. It was in a Saturday night service. The church was packed, the balcony full and chairs up and down the isles. Dozens were being
