This book is about life, the transitions, and the many struggles that the ordinary woman encounters in a life time. It’s about fundamental issues that frame who we are. It’s about relationships, health, living, poor choices, and consequences. It’s about mothers and daughters. And finally it’s all about understanding the power of forgiveness, the transformation that repositioning creates, being resilient and learning that restoration comes in the form of living. This book is about you and me; the women who redefine success, over challenges, and learn to live life on our own terms.
I was able to compile the stories of women counseled; women who attended focus groups and weave them with my own story. This work has been in the making for many years. It is presented to you, so that you may begin the transformation and the healing.
This book gives voice to the women who suffer in silence wondering if they will get through. I want you to know that you can.
Yes you can.
Acknowledgements
I would like to thank my family for allowing me to publish this work. I especially give thanks and honor to my priest, my husband, for being my rock, my champion and my best friend. It is because of his strength that I am able to be strong and do the work that I am commissioned to do. My children are incredible, resilient and phenomenal in all aspects of their being. I honor them with this work because they are living the life as they continue to grow with me and as they stretch themselves. They too have stories of triumph that weave themselves through this life they are present with and the lives of others. My hope for them is that one day they allow for their stories to be a platform for the healing journey of others.
Author Notes
I pray this work resonates with the core of your being. It is my gift to your health and your journey to wholeness. For me it was difficult yet liberating to write this and to allow God to use me. I feel naked and a bit exposed; I have had to go back and edit because some things were difficult to share. However I feel that I have given of myself in such a way that it allows others to understand that secrets have no power when they are exposed -that truth is healing and forgiveness is essential. Faith is everlasting.
