The Secrets of Prevailing in Prayer Warfare is one in several series of Prayer Manuals that God had laid in my heart to write. It is written to encourage the believer to hold out with God in the place of prayer and prevail. Victory in prayer warfare is a possibility if one can be persistent. One of the key factors in prevailing prayer is hearing God speak. Hearing him helps us to wait till our change comes. Hence, the reason the chapter on having a relationship with the Holy Spirit is included. There is a need for the saints to have a vibrant relationship with the Holy Spirit, have him guide us as we persistently engage the kingdom of darkness in prevailing warfare prayers.

Taiwo Olusegun Ayeni

Pastor Taiye Ayeni, as he is fondly called, met with the Lord in his final year at the University of Lagos, Akoka, where he graduated with a bachelor’s of science combined honors degree in mass communication, sociology, and psychology. Since knowing the Lord in 1983, he has been privileged to serve Him in various capacities. He is the minister in charge of Rehoboth Bible Ministries Inc. based in Grand Prairie, Texas, USA, and a senior lecturer at the Gethsemane Prayer Ministries International’ Prayer School, with its headquarters in Ibadan, Nigeria. He serves as a minister at the Household of Faith, of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Arlington, Texas, USA, where he and his family worship. He is in the United States of America on mission for Christ, a trained chaplain and graduate of Advance Leadership and Pastoral School of Christ for the Nations Institute (CFNI) Dallas and Long Ridge Writers Group, in Connecticut. He is widely traveled on speaking engagements within and outside the country in the course of ministry work. He lives with his wife Abidemi, Rereloluwa (son), and Oreoluwa (daughter) in Grand Prairie, Texas.

I have learnt through the helping hand of God (and watching others pray) how to prevail in prayer. God helped me early in my Christian race by bringing me across men and women who laid a solid foundation for me in the area of spiritual warfare prayer. Men who have used prayer power as a formidable weapon to topple satanic strongholds in the lives of men. These men have learnt and taught others how to stand their grounds against Satan, even when the prevailing situation is contrary to their desire in prayer.

These men have ‘hazarded’ their lives for the kingdom, in order that those under satanic bondage can be set free. They are those one can truly call the disciples of Christ who do not love their lives unto death. They were willing to die for the cause of the kingdom. Having traveled the length and breadth of the nation with them as a disciple and learning under them, I have come to understand, through their teachings that ‘Men ought always to pray, and not to faint’ (Luke 18:1)

The place of dream in guidance or direction is also considered. Three kinds of dreams are highlighted to guide the reader to understand interpretation of dreams. Eating in the dream for example is demonic, but it is not all eating in the dream that is bad. For example, if a man desperately desired Chinese Cuisine during the day but could not afford it, it is highly possible that he would find himself eating it in his dream. In effect, it is multitude of business and hence not demonic.

While I conclude on the importance of striving to prevail in prayer, it is equally necessary to work at hearing him speak to one. Prayer without hearing God’s voice is nothing but monologue. Prayer is a two-way communication. You talk to God and he talks back to you. It is assuring to know that his desire for us is to be the head and not the tail. This is only achievable when you know how to claim your rights on your knees in prayer. Therefore ‘Watch and Pray’

God loves to hide so that you can search for him. Someone said that coincidence is God acting anonymously. Victory in warfare cannot be left to coincidence that is why we must seek Him to prevail. Discovering God is like searching out a hidden treasure. Prayer itself is a means of discovering God. Victory is certain when God is discovered, for it is written, they that know their God shall be strong and do exploits. Daniel 11:32b

This book sets forth a practical guide into the secrets of prevailing in prayer warfare in an easy to follow manner which ensures intimacy with God. The book untwines a closely knit thread that amplifies dependence and intimacy with God as key to successful prayer warfare.

This is a book that will take the praying Christian into a deeper communion with God. The intensity of emphasis is in knowing God. This knowledge not only broadens the scope of prayer, it oils the tenacity of prayer.

Prayer success is not in how well you could talk or sweat or in the verse of scripture that you know but rather it is a factor of your intimacy with God. Of the nine chapters in the book, seven is dedicated to advancing the prayer warrior’s intimacy with God.

Men have always prayed all through the ages with varying degrees of effectiveness. In this book, the author uncovers the inner sanctuary of prevailing prayers with a cutting edge - draw nigh unto God and He will draw nigh unto you James 4:8. That is the secret of prevailing in prayer warfare!
