About this ebook
Who am I? How did I get here? I am an ordinary person. Ive spent my life making decisions and laying out plans. It took many years for me to find out that the plans were already laid out. All I had to do was decide to follow the plans. The plans god had for me. This journey is a struggle every day. But its worth every step when you see whats at the journeys end.
Live for Christ, he died for you.

My Journey in the Son - Pat Covington
A FRIEND
GOD SENT YOU TO ME
AND I LET YOU WALK AWAY.
HAD I BEEN THE FRIEND I SHOULD HAVE BEEN,
YOU’D BE STANDING HERE TODAY.
HE GIVES US TREASURES
TO DO WITH WHAT WE WILL,
YET WHEN WE’RE FACE TO FACE,
I KNOW NOT THAT YOU’RE A TREASURE STILL.
THE THINGS WE WANT AND ASK FOR,
WE THINK WILL MAKE OUR LIVES SO GRAND.
WE DON’T REALIZE THAT WHAT WE NEED,
SOMETIMES IN FRONT OF US THEY STAND.
I PRAY THAT GOD WILL OPEN OUR EYES
AND THE TREASURES HE SENDS, WE WILL SEE.
THIS TIME I’LL TRY HARDER
TO SHOW THEM WHAT A FRIEND I CAN BE.

I FORGOT
I CAME TO YOU
AND YOU MADE LIFE GOOD.
YOU KEPT YOUR PROMISE
LIKE YOU SAID YOU WOULD.
ALL WENT WELL FOR A WHILE,
I KEPT MY PROMISE TOO.
I CHANGED MY LIFE
AND EACH DAY, GAVE THANKS TO YOU.
THEN ONE DAY I FORGOT.
WE DIDN’T TALK THAT DAY.
THEN SLOWLY I BEGAN
TO SLIP AWAY.
I FORGOT THE BLESSINGS
FOR ME, YOU DID BESTOW.
I HAD STARTED
TO SLOWLY LET GO.
THEN ONE DAY I THOUGHT,
SOMETHING ISN’T RIGHT.
I FEEL UNEASY
WHEN I LAY DOWN AT NIGHT.
OH LORD, WHAT HAVE I DONE?
HOW COULD I FORGET THE PROMISE WITH YOU?
YOU KEPT YOURS, CAN WE START OVER,
SO I CAN KEEP MY PROMISE TOO?

IF FEATHERS WERE SINS
IF FEATHERS WERE SINS AND MY WINGS,
I HAD FEATHERED WITH ALL I’VE DONE WRONG,
I’D HAVE A PAIR OF WINGS
A HUNDRED MILES LONG.
BUT BY GRACE I WAS SAVED
AND MY FEATHERS ARE PURE.
THE FIT WILL BE PERFECT.
OF THIS I AM SURE.
I COUNT MY BLESSINGS
DAY AFTER DAY.
MY FEATHERS WERE CLEANSED
AND I’LL FLY AWAY.
UNTIL THAT DAY,
I’LL KEEP MY FEATHERS CLEAN.
FOR NOW I KNOW
WHAT GRACE AND FORGIVENESS TRULY MEAN.

I BUILT A BRIDGE
I WALKED UPON THE SEA.
I GAVE SIGHT TO THE BLIND.
I BUILT A BRIDGE
SO NO ONE WAS LEFT BEHIND.
MY LOVE I SHARED.
I SPREAD GOD’S WORD.
AND FOR SO MANY,
MY VOICE WAS HEARD.
BUT NOW I STAND
AND LOOK ABOUT.
WHY WOULD MY CHILDREN
TRY TO SCRATCH MY MEMORY OUT?
THE WORDS ARE THERE.
THEY STAND TRUE.
GOD IN HEAVEN
SET THEM IN STONE FOR YOU.
MY LOVE FOR YOU
WILL FOREVER STAND STRONG.
YOU STILL HAVE TIME
TO RIGHT THE WRONG.

LOST SHEEP
THE SHEPHERD SEARCHES,
HIS LOST SHEEP TO FIND.
THERE IS NOT ONE
HE WILL LEAVE BEHIND.
WHEN HE CALLS OUT TO THEM,
HIS VOICE THEY WILL KNOW.
IN GOD’S WORD IT IS WRITTEN,
AND I BELIEVE IT TO BE SO.
HE’LL GATHER THE FLOCK
AND BRING THEM BACK HOME.
THERE THEY WILL STAY,
NO LONGER TO ROAM.
IF YOU FEEL AT A
