About this ebook

Writing has always been an inseparable part of me. At first it didnt seem necessary or important to share with others. Then we bought our first PC and have been on the Internet about three years. Since then sharing has blossomed into unbelievable proportions. It is a thrill to be able to share with others. Hopes dreams and things we all wish for, such as acceptance by fellow writers. I can not think of one single thing that inspires me to write poetry. The entire spectrum of living is an inspiration. I feel extremely passionate about life with all its complexities. Ive always thrown myself head long into every project I tackle. Intensity serves me well by capturing the moment, fresh and captivating. The results get me into to trouble at times in that I loose all concept of time. Here I bow to my husband and his patience for many late dinners when in the middle of a writing frenzy. Endless miracles of love spur me on!

Unfortunately, in late 2001, ADA was diagnosed with stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. She indured five major operations, & 38 Kemos. On July 4, 2004 she passed away at our home in Banning Ca.

    Katy’s Unfinished Story Waiting For Christmas

     ~ Joy ~

    We’re a family renewed this Christmas,

    Once again, we await the Bethlehem star.

    Our joy is overflowing, and renewed in us.

    Pieces of our lives healed, and fit together.

    We, like the blind seeing for the first time.

    Deep inside the heart of our home,

    All our thread is new, woven in rhyme.

    As magic the tree is transformed.

    Our eyes reflect the candle glow,

    Peace descends, I wonder, is this heaven?

    Yet the tinseled boxes lay below.

    A spirit of well being, Christmas is more.

    Old grief laid down, still there is merit in contrast.

    As with clay, God shapes our hearts,

    Like an echo from the ancient past.

    Rewrite JOY, ADA 9-15-95, 1JOY

     ~ Our Christmas Joy ~

    Around our Christmas tree we rest,

    With candle glow to sparkle eyes.

    Of blessings, we have the best

    Hearts full of love, no room for cries.

    The peace of understanding, nothing buys.

    Our hearts know love is forever,

    Sent from above, gifts ending never.

    When was I born, where did it begin;

    With you my love, Forever my love.

    ©ADA 12-25-67, OUR CHRISTMAS JOY

     ~ Joy Of God ~

    The love of God is here to stay;

    His tender mercy, took my sins away.

    There is a light in it’s place,

    And a big smile on my face.

    Better than gold, or work of art,

    There’s a song of joy in my heart.

    He keeps me safe, I have no fear,

    I’m never lonely, God is near.

    Where ever I go , what ever I do,

    The joy of God is there too.

     ~ Our Friend Zola ~

    You give meaning to love each day anew;

    Celebrate life, share a laugh or two,

    You comfort your friends, too few of us do;

    Enriching our lives for knowing you.

    Gentle and giving, you’re one of a kind,

    Gifts such as these are hard to find.

    Zola, your love will never end.

    God bless you, our precious friend.

     ~ Gifts ~

    Consider the grass all green and wet,

    The sun reflects its rays in dew.

    Adorned in droplets, jeweled beauty set.

    Softness to feel, fodder to feed;

    A joyous greeting, I’m glad we’ve met.

    A miracle to see, life in a seed.

    Lifting slowly upward, to the sun.

    Gifts generous given, grateful received.

    ©ADA 3-14-84, 4GIFTS

     ~ The Lesson ~

    In wonder I look at the sky,

    Sorrow and pain sharpen the eye.

    Shaping and molding tools of might,

    Hunger impels its appetite.

    Beauty unfolds, I take a small bite,

    My spirit ingests the lesson just right.

    O humbling life of day and night

    No wound to the heart, no vision to be;

    For lessons of beauty and sorrow are free

    They hold hands like the sand and the sea.

    ©ADA 3-13-84, 5THELESSON

     ~ God’s Love ~

    What does he look like this God of ours?

    For those who believe, one day we’ll know.

    He has gentle hands, and infinite powers.

    This world was his perfect creation.

    The earth, and all that abide here.

    Plants, animals, and man, all passed his inspection.

    The angels above are his heavenly host.

    His majesty our king, and Holy Trinity.

    God our father, Jesus his son, and the Holy Ghost.

    Prayer is our direct line to God’s heart.

    His forgiveness and peace are forever nearby.

    In the silence he answers, we are never apart.

    Come walk with God, now is the hour.

    I see him now, he’s here in the garden,

    God’s love in the face of each flower.

    ©ADA 3-17-84,Rev. 2-3-96, 6GODSLOV

     ~ Zola’s Prayer ~

    When illness befalls your dearest friend,

    Your heart aches, in pain without end.

    My eyes search the heavens, it’s help that I seek.

    I’d remember to praise him whenever I speak,

    If God will but touch her, making her well.

    By chance I should meet, all the people I’d tell.

    Bless her dear Lord, please make her whole,

    I’m praying in earnest with all my soul.

    It’s all that I’m asking, I hope you’ll agree,

    My dearest friend is worthy you see.

    For answering prayer you hold the key;

    Thank you dear Lord for hearing me.

    ©ADA 3-21-84,Rev. 2-3-96- 7PRAYER

     ~ Ballet ~

    The wind blows, the ballet begins,

    The ballet of the new spring leaves.

    They dance, and take my breath away -

    Their sound echoes on the eaves.

    Beauty surrounding the glory of day,

    Freedoms dance, as the air they weave -

    I’m thankful for new life each spring,

    The earth renews what God conceives.

     ~ Sorrow ~

    This is a restless year;

    My heart shrinks in mounting fear.

    Foreboding sadness brings ever near,

    The falling of a fresh new tear.

    This battle with life is raging I’ve found.

    I the victim, fall on bloody ground.

    My soul rises and looks all around,

    Knowing that hope must abound.

    ©ADA 4-9-84, 9SORROW

     ~ Together ~

    Courage comes from the inner soul.

    Only God can make us whole;

    He knows our every valley, and hill,

    And exactly what each of us can bear.

    God lifts us up with loving care,

    And we grow stronger in spirit.

    Our courage, an example for others,

    We can help our sisters and brothers.

    A journey through life together;

    Time to change, and to learn,

    It is nothing that we can earn.

    A gift, we’ll grow strong and tall.

    As the oak endures and bends,

    We thank God, whose love never ends.

     ~ Beloved ~

    God’s greatest gift we were given,

    Two yearning hearts, lonely and waiting.

    Two lives one love, our souls haven.

    Love Loving and being loved, always enfolded;

    We love for yet untold reasons.

    Torched in a passion known only to a few,

    Our love takes flight in silent touching.

    I’ll be forever grateful, my beloved gift is you.

    In shared moments, and hours of fun.

    Outside for a walk beside you they run.

    Love and devotion dished out by the ton.

    A shadow that follows your every move,

    Our busy lives they comfort and soothe.

    Friendship so worthy, there’s none to compare,

    Loyal love given freely is very rare.

     ~ Thank You Friend ~

    I must be sentimental,

    Though it may not always show;

    And though its incidental,

    I just wanted you to know.

    I love the things you say, and do.

    You are extremely kind, and sweet;

    I wanted you to know it’s true.

    Long time friends are hard to beat;

    You’re multi-talented, from my view.

    Friend, you’re a blessing, a real treat.

    Your attributes, I’ve named just a few,

    Still close in thought, that’s quite a feat.

    Thank you friend,for just being you.

     ~ Missing My Friend ~

    I wish you’d come visit awhile,

    The sound of your voice makes me smile.

    Friends need the time to share,

    We need to build memories with care.

    Your friendship a gift, I’m thankful for you,

    Of true friends in a life time, there are few.

    I learn from your wisdom, admire your talent.

    Want you to know, you’re really quite valiant.

    You have a good heart, and I like your style;

    I really wish you’d come visit awhile.

     ~ In Praise Of Cats ~

    I just love cats, – don’t you?

    Fascinating creatures, with whiskers, and fur.

    They return affection, only if you’re worthy.

    If they’re very pleased, you’ll hear them purr.

    Sometimes they may seem a bit haughty,

    I know them quite well you see.

    At times, they are even a little naughty.

    A hunter, with quiet dignity and grace.

    With their nose held high in the air,

    They’re famous for their style of pace.

    To harm them, there is never cause.

    God loves them, He made them with care;

    Soft and warm, their pussy cat paws.

    When it comes to cats, there is no question,

    They stand out all alone, by themselves;

    Their charms are too numerous to mention.

     ~ Introduction ~

    I’ve a friend who’s nice, do you know who?

    She’d be very surprised if she knew.

    The truth sneaks out, it shines right through.

    Her kindness shows, she’s generous too.

    She likes helping others, its plain to see.

    To hide these facts, — is not easy;

    She gives away love, its a bargain its free.

    —So let me introduce you please—

    To one who loves to tease.

    I know why, I suspected from the start,

    It’s a cover for a real soft heart.

    I’d like you to meet my friend Sandy—

     ~ Our Dad ~

    What makes a good dad?

    He is special among men,

    Dad was big on caring, and loved sharing.

    It’s time to honor him again.

    If he ever complained,

    I don’t remember when.

    When dad stepped out, he was real dapper.

    He was sad when we felt sad,

    A sensitive kind of guy,

    And glad when we were glad.

    As a sympathetic listener, he was tops.

    Dads help erase anger when you’re mad.

    When we were in trouble, he was there for us.

    Dads are faithful, what more could we add.

    He’ll always love you, be by your side.

    For telling jokes, none could beat our dad.

    He was proud of our good points,

    And accepted our imperfections too.

    Who was our loving dad,

    It surely was you.

    We miss you dad; One in a million!

     ~ First Grandchild ~

    As blue as the heavens, are Erin’s eyes.

    She captivates, a charming little Miss.

    The envy of sunshine, if it should rise.

    The glory you bring, would rival spring.

    You’re adventure, wondrous new surprise;

    The untamable Erin, a wild tiger spirit.

    We’re tied to your finger, happy you’re here.

    Life’s richest blessing, our treasure is you –

    By popular demand, you’re baby of the year.

    Your parents adore you, we love you too.

    We thank the good Lord, – Erin is here.

    Who’re you? Our 1st grandchild that’s who.
