Marianne (May Reign) Ritchey, was born in Miami, Florida, the youngest of nine children. She discovered her love for the art of words in Elementary School, when a teacher, Ms. Bethel exposed her to African American Poetry. Fascinated, Marianne would soon discover that her thoughts could be translated into poems as well. Not only did writing become her hobby, it would later become the therapy that would help her through the most turbulent times in her life. She has performed her poetry in numerous venues.
