About this ebook
Anthony Sailer
Since my first book was published I have really dedicated myself to writing as often as I can. I try to make writing a daily part of my life as I expand my imagination to extend my first book into a series. Since the days of when I first started writing short stories as a young teenager as I have learned a great deal. I actually had to develop the ability of writing longer stories to make them Novellas or Novels. I enjoy writing now more than ever and I hope the readers can enjoy the ongoing worlds that I create. I hope the second book will be a good extension of the the first one. When I am not writing I enjoy watching football and movies. I also enjoy listening to all kinds of music and reading. I still live in Northwest Ohio.

Earth & Beyond - Anthony Sailer
EARTH & BEYOND
In 1988 I began a series of explorations beyond our galaxy. After obtaining the knowledge of time travel from my stepbrother, I constructed a device called a transporter which enabled me and my group to journey to another world beyond our universe called the fourth dimension. There it was discovered that a species composed of energy existed and this species, as well as this dimension, were a threat to Earth. Our mission was to destroy the core of the dimension eliminating the threat of this warrior species from our universe and earth.
Over the next three years countless journeys were made into the fourth dimension in attempt to destroy the core, with several battles against the warriors which developed into a full scale war. It was also discovered during these three years that twelve dimensions existed within this universe, expanding our explorations beyond anything we could ever imagine. In 1991 after countless journeys into the fourth dimension, as well as the other dimensions, our countless attempts to destroy the core had not succeeded while the stagnant war with the warriors continued. Nearly all of my group had been killed, which were my friends. Our explorations had ceased abruptly and our mission had overwhelmingly failed.
Just before the year 2000, a new group of explorers had emerged with new challenges within our own universe. Led by Gannon Neril, he and his group discovered, among other things, a new species just outside our galaxy called the Unidocons. After sealing off the doorway from earth to the fourth dimension to end the threat of invasion of the energy warriors, conflict between Gannon’s group and the Unidocons emerged. After a period of four years the threat of the Unidocons had ended and Gannon, with his group who called themselves the Eclipse
team had vanished. It is near the end of 2007 where all has been quiet for some time, that is until recently. Back in 1988 when I constructed the transporter, I disguised it as a stand-up shower in a small bathroom I had within my bedroom.
At one point the Eclipse team had gone back to the house I used to live in where they destroyed the transporter and closed to the doorway to the fourth dimension. Due to my obsession with time travel however, I have recently constructed a new transporter in my apartment. This one was in my master bedroom disguised as a walk-in closet. Despite my apparent ignorance in doing this I tried imply to myself a rational explanation. My intent was to try and locate the Eclipse team, and if they had somehow become trapped in another dimension this would be the only way to get them back.
In the past, one of my many mistakes was getting too many people involved with the situation, putting too many lives at risk. I was not going to make the same mistake this time however, I could not do this alone. A small handful of people are aware of what took place in the past and as much as I hate to put their lives at risk I’m afraid I may have no choice. Before I would put anyone in danger I would journey back to the fourth dimension myself.
The Doorway Is Reopened……
Phase I
It was an overcast November afternoon, as well as unusually warm, and after a busy Monday morning things for me had finally settled down. I sat in my apartment occasionally looking out the living room window while listening to the wind as it would gust from time to time. The sky slowly grew darker with approaching rain and after debating the idea for a period of time, at 2:22 pm I decided it was time to go back.
Part of me felt anxious as I was about to go back to a world that mesmerized me, consumed me, and made me feel like I never wanted to leave, never return to earth. The other part of me felt like I was making the biggest mistake in history. In any case I stood up, exited the room, then walked to my bedroom. A sign on the closet door that read closed
I flipped to open
and began energizing the transporter.
It would take a few minutes for the transporter to fully energize giving me a chance to rethink my decision, but nothing was going to change my mind. I continued to wait as I paced around my room somewhat impatient, somewhat nervous. As the transporter was just about fully energized I opened my closet door and stepped inside to begin my new quest.
Phase II
I arrived in the fourth dimension undetected. It had been so long since my last trip here. I assumed the warriors had maybe forgotten about me. Whatever the case I had made a quiet entrance. Perhaps due to a new transporter I had arrived in a different location than I had in the past. The room was similar to the old headquarters we used to have however, it was different. I had to find out exactly where I was, which sector I was in, so I could calculate some kind of strategy. In the past we could bring weapons with us. In our old headquarters we had a weapons chamber with additional firepower, but that was not the case this time so I had to find weapons immediately. I took a moment to look around the room, absorbing my surroundings, collecting my thoughts. This brought back so many memories that after standing there a few moments I started grinning, at last I have finally returned. I briefly looked around the room again, then headed for the door. After a brief pause I headed out, then once I got out in the corridor I got a fix on my location.
I was in one of the outer sectors which meant based on history I was pretty safe, sector twenty to be exact. Unless things have changed there were twenty-two sectors in this dimension all in a circular fashion with an exposed core at the center. Being in one of the outer sectors weapons were scarce so I would have to head closer to the core.
After waking for a short time I finally saw a transport beam and headed toward it. I was somewhat surprised but relieved that I had not seen any warriors yet. Once I reached the transport beam I would head to a sector that I knew, at least in the past had weapons chambers, then would start exploring the various sectors to see what was intact. This was mainly a recon mission for me as I would not be able to do much on my own, for that I would need help.
I reached the transport beam and got on, then as I started moving I looked below me absorbing the atmosphere and scanning for warriors. Think of a transport beam as kind of a horizontal elevator or those flat escalators at airports, they are in the air about a hundred feet off the surface and cross through every sector. I was headed for sector six where our old headquarters used to be, I knew there had to be a weapons chamber there.
I began wondering that if the Eclipse team wasn’t in the fourth dimension they could be in any one or more of the twelve dimensions, or if they were in this universe at all. If they weren’t in this universe then they may never be found. What the hell could have possibly happened to them? For all I knew they could have been captured by the Unidocons and were stranded on their world. If that was the case then they may never be rescued because we did not possess the conventional type of space travel that they did. As I moved along the transport beam I noticed how quiet it was. There were no sounds of generators running, no footsteps, only silence. I even began thinking that the fourth dimension may be abandoned, but if it was I don’t think I could have gotten here.
Some time had passed, then I was approaching sector nine when I finally saw something. There were two warriors walking through the corridor. They hadn’t noticed me, but I needed to get off quickly before I was spotted. As soon as I reached sector nine I got off the transport beam. Maybe if I was lucky I could find a weapons chamber in this sector. I proceeded cautiously through the corridors trying not to be detected. As I slowly moved forward I located a weapons chamber. I energized the door then slipped in while I looked behind me and saw nothing.
Damn there’s nothing here! I’d have to slip out and find another weapons chamber. I re-energized the door and when it opened there was a warrior there to greet me. I froze in terror, I wanted to move but couldn’t, I wanted to speak but couldn’t, I just stood there. The warrior put his hand up and motioned me back in the room, so I slowly stepped back as my mouth was frozen open. Once we were both in the room the door sealed behind us, he stood there for a moment before he spoke.
I saw you on the transport beam above us,
he said in his slightly robotic voice.
It has been a long time since you have been here. I thought perhaps one day you would return, I remember you just could not stay away.
All I managed to say was,
Um…. um…. I…. I-
I will take you to our leader. We need to move cautiously so we are not seen by the others.
I was a little surprised by his statement but just nodded my head and kept quiet. I did ask one question before we exited, Since Mutane was de-energized the last time I was here I guess I am going to see Arkan.
Arkan no longer exists, you will meet our leader soon enough.
With that he fell silent and energized the door. He escorted me out of the room and we began walking down the corridor. The warrior found the closest transporter and we got in. I had a feeling we were headed to the city, a place I had briefly visited only once before and knew little about. He energized the transporter and we vanished, then a short time later we arrived at what seemed to look like a palace, something I never knew about. We proceeded cautiously to avoid being noticed until we reached, I guess it’s called a transport lift, which resembled an elevator.
We got on the transport lift and started going up. Once we reached the top we got off and proceeded down a corridor until we reached a set of double doors. He scanned his hand and the doors were energized, then opened. We were in a small narrow room with another set of double doors in
