If someone does not know the truth about something, then that individual is in darkness concerning that thing! However, if the individual learns the truth about the thing, then that individual is no longer in darkness, but instead, is now in light! Darkness conceals the visual presence of an object, while light reveals its presence. When I say, Let There Be Light, I mean that, you should open the eyes of your understanding, and see the truth! That which is in light is not hidden from the eye sight, neither do men light a candle, and put it under a basin, but rather on a candle stick for it to give light to the entire room!

FORWARD

The intentions of this book is for any person or group of persons that believe in the Bible as a reference and a guide to a chosen way of life and uses the Bible as a set of guidelines of which to follow. Anyone who falls into this category will benefit from reading this book. The Apostle points out that if it is the Bible you follow, then you must understand the interpretation of the Bible for what it is, not for what someone wants it to be, or for the unjust benefit of someone else motivated by greed or power or any form of self gratification at the expense and harm of others. According to the Apostle, the words in the Bible today are words that were and still are chosen by God. Therefore, if we claim to follow the God mentioned in the Bible (The Torah), then we have to abide by the rules set forth by God Himself in the proper and holy manner for which they are intended.

PREFACE

Elishaphat, a child of God, called to be an Apostle of Jesus Christ. Greetings to all in the name of Jesus Christ, our soon coming King, who has washed us from our sins with his own blood, and given us great grace unto life eternal. It is with humbleness of heart, and humility that I write unto you, to shine light into this present world of darkness. To set in order, that which is not in order in many churches; For it was brought to my attention that, in the church, there are much confusion as to what tithing is actually for, or what is its true purpose. Therefore, through the revelation of the Holy Spirit, I am here to enlighten you on the truth!

I write unto whom it may concern about tithes and its true purpose. As a whole, this book will address some key questions about tithing. First, what specifically is tithing as defined by the Holy Bible? Second, what is its true purpose? Finally, is it currently being used for its God intended purpose or not? I will also be addressing what changes need to be made in order to comply with the true intended purpose of tithing. Let us start with the church and its expenses. There are two main expenses for any building that is being used for a church assembly that need to be met, in order to maintain meeting services, and they are the light and the water. However, in some instances, there is a third expenditure in some organizations, which need to be dealt with! This third expense is known by many names such as; the rent, lease, or mortgage. If an organization chooses to assemble in a building that is not owned by that organization, then it is only fair that they pay, or compensate for the use of the building.

In the early church, a physical structure or shelter was not essential for the people of God to meet together, starting with Adam and Eve. Rather, what they had was The Garden of Eden (Genesis 2:8). It wasn’t until after Adam and Eve sinned, that God drove them out of the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:23 & 24).

Vs. 23. "Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.

Vs. 24. So he drove out the man."

Now after such an event had taken place, the people of God started to present offerings unto the Lord (Genesis 4:3 & 4):

Vs. "3. And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord.

Vs. 4. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof."

But, after the death of Abel, the scripture shows that offering unto the Lord God had ceased until the birth of E’-nos (Genesis 4:25 & 26).

Vs. 25. "And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.

Vs. 26. And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name E’-nos: THEN BEGAN MEN TO CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE Lord."

In these scriptures, we see that in the beginning, there is no mention of any physical structure, such as a building, where the people of God would assemble themselves when presenting their offerings unto the Lord their God. After the people of God left Egypt, the first mention of setting up any form of a worshiping structure was when God told Moses to build a tabernacle (Exodus 25: 1-8):

Vs. 1. "And the Lord God spake unto Moses, saying,

Vs. 2. Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.

Vs. 3. And this is the offering which ye shall take of them; gold, and silver, and brass,

Vs. 4. And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats’ hair,

Vs. 5. And rams’ skins dyed red, and badgers’ skins, and shit’-Tim wood,

Vs. 6. Oil for the light, spices for anointing oil, and for sweet incense,

Vs. 7. Onyx stones, and stones to be set in the e’-phod, and in the breastplate.

Vs. 8. And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them."

In those days (B.C. Era), the Spirit of the Lord God dwelt in the tabernacle at first, then in the temple where the people of God would present their offerings which were received by the priests. However, In these days (A.D. Era) it is revealed that the Spirit of God no longer dwells in a man made structure, but rather in his children (²nd Corinthians 6: 14-16):

Vs. 14. "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?

Vs. 15. And what concord hath Christ with Be’-li-al? Or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

Vs. 16. And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I WILL DWELL IN THEM, AND WALK IN THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE."

Chapter 2

Now let us explore the intended purpose of the tithe in the Old Testament Church. The book of Malachi 3:10, (Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house) gives a clear understanding of the tithe’s purpose. When the scripture reads, that there may be meat, it simply means that there may be provision such as that which is needful. The bible shows us (Deuteronomy 26:1-15. Key verses. 12 &13) that the tithe was not only to take care of the Levites, but also the strangers; the fatherless, and the widows as well.

The scripture (Malachi 3:10) also reads, In mine house. Now, it would seem that, this very same verse of scripture has been misunderstood for far too long!

Many people believe that the house of the Lord God is a physical structure, that was made by the hands of men, where they gather to fellowship; and this was true in the Old Testament!

In the book of 1stChronicles 22: 1-2, & 6, we read how the people of God did plan to build a physical structure where they could meet and worship.

Vs. 1. "Then David said, This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.

Vs. 2. And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to hew wrought stones to build the house of God.

Vs. 6. Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build an house for the Lord God of Israel."

However, in the New Testament scripture, after the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we see that God’s house is no longer a man made structure, but rather it is a believer’s body that is now become the house of God. 1stCorinthians 6:19 said, What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? So then, since your body is the house
