    About the Author

    Out of Time

This book examines the multiple exhortations that God issued from the earliest times that caution humans to be aware that time is running out. We are cautioned repeatedly to be sober-minded, alert, and to remain in obedience to the Scripture. The book of Revelation, as given to Apostle John, calls out seven churches in Asia for not having maintained the walk of obedience. It calls out the rebuke of those churches and shows how to return to walking in God's grace. We believers must compare our own lifestyles to those churches and make appropriate changes in our lives. We are exhorted to be overcomers in order to receive the crown of life. The other side of that coin is that if we are not overcomers, our names can be blotted out of the book of life! We observe also what John saw in the heavens, the throne room, opening the book of life, and the application of judgments upon the earth.

We Are Running Out of Time!

Since the moment Lucifer decided to overthrow God and become the ruler of the universe, we have been involved in spiritual warfare. Lucifer (now named Satan) has determined to destroy everything God creates. When mankind came along, Satan decided to do anything and everything he could to pull mankind away from following God and to prevent them from choosing everlasting life with him. Satan perverts God's creations, blinding men's minds to assure us that the easy way is just as good as complete obedience. Scripture tells us that wide is the way that leads to destruction, but narrow is the way that leads to salvation.

Hebrews 1:1 states, God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets.

Look sharply at this comment. It says God spoke to the fathers—not to churches, congregations, or synagogues! God still speaks to the individual more often than to groups of people. When he speaks to assemblies or nations, it takes on a very different tone! As you read this, apply it individually as well as to your church.

Throughout the Scriptures, God has spoken in both the Old and New Testaments, warning of the end. He spoke of the Day of the Lord, the day of wrath, the day of vengeance, and of the great and terrible day.

When you see these terms, look at the surrounding verses because it normally points to the end of time.

For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? (Revelation 6:17)

Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand [italics mine]. (Joel
