About this ebook

Will humankind awake from spiritual oblivion, or will Providence intervene?

The human drama draws near to its climax upon earth and it is now time to turn our attention inward; for in our haste for technological progress and material gain, we have forgotten who, and indeed what we are. A battle rages for our very souls. A deceptive haze abounds upon the earth as a result of this battle, thus blinding man of his true origins and destiny. By ignoring the warnings in our sacred texts we have sabotaged our own well being; in an effort to be independent of God mankind thwarts the cosmic plan.

But an awakening is coming: the long awaited dawn is nigh, but when the light shines forth, will we be ready? We mustn't be fooled by this present world in forfeiture of one inconceivably better; for when human existence strikes the higher octave the former state of being will be viewed with contempt! When will this paradigm begin? And is this "new consciousness" synonymous with "The Millennial Reign of Christ"?

    (AN INTRODUCTION)

A condition has endured for centuries of a most profound, yet absurd kind. At first it seems this situation is a subtle one, but as we delve deeper into the meaning of this, we will begin to see this apparent subtlety unveiled for its stark deceptive qualities. Even though the way things appear are of little import as compared to their essential meaning, we find appearances are largely responsible for an enormous amount of misconceptions that have been generated over the centuries, and these erroneous ideas have for many, become very near visual fact. Many artists, sculptors, and artisans of all types, have seen fit to fill in the blanks (or change the facts entirely) of our scant records, of things pertaining to the spiritual realm and thus aspired to create a great deal of works of their own conceptions.

This will seem harmless at first, but the subtleties of life recorded upon the psyche, and quite possibly transferred to the soul, thus influencing thought and belief can become potentially hazardous. For in the dismissing of these things as harmless or unimportant, and in the acceptance of them at face value, is the endowment of their power. Because an aura of overall belief and acceptance perpetuates itself from all materially induced stimuli, a haze of deception proliferates, necessitating a kind of filter to cut through (much like the night-vision glasses used by the military to see in the dark). So what are the resultant problems from all of this?

It is my belief that we are all victims of an unseen extra-dimensional force, and because we cannot see beyond a three dimensional perspective, we are therefore at its mercy. Most of us can’t get beyond a repertory of established iconography, so it is our only impression of things pertaining to the spiritual realm. Because we can’t see the real reality we rely on symbolism to represent things that we cannot grasp pertaining to their essential natures. Because of this vulnerability these forces capitalize on inspiring entirely misleading ideas within our limited range of aesthetics, easily mastering this dimensional experience. Nearly all of our estimations of spirituality are based upon a false symbolism; any symbolic representation can be, and often is, adopted to stand in for just about anything. This is why idolatry becomes dangerous. Since one cannot see this reality lying outside our perception, iconic endowment of these false representations generates a kind of anti-life compromising ones spiritual integrity. This practice, if unchecked, creates an umbilical cord if you will, attaching the person to the newly created monster, effectively making the person ... its mother. (This hypothesis could very well be a reality of the psyche.)

Though most of the material in Threshing the Cosmic Chaff: The Reckoning of a Degenerate World is largely hypothetical, I believe that what I expound upon is real but manifested in the collective consciousness; there is an over-lap with the material world however, so please keep this in mind throughout.

There are effects in the spirit world resultant from causes here in the physical, and vise versa. Physical actions are linked with spiritual causes, since the physical is animated by the spiritual anyway. All of this probably sounds extremely ridiculous, and because we deem it so, that alone is the reason these negative forces ultimately triumph; if we were to take this seriously and become wise to them, they would have no power over us. The mere fact that most people don’t see any danger in this is why it will not motivate them to try to see through this insidious plot. Why would it? You can also apply different jargon to these forces if you like; demonic might also be used here.

Consequently then, because of these perversions of spiritual representations through various types of iconography, resulting from these evil forces manipulating the minds of quite possibly, well-meaning artists and craftsmen down through the centuries, the spiritually aloof have become entirely deceived with anything symbolizing the eternal or divine. Many of us may very well understand the metaphorical abstractions representing the spiritual realm that these artists have depicted, but I have found it to be a detriment to the spiritually ignorant. Examples must be given here of some very inaccurate depictions and portrayals to really drive this point home. One example is of infant angels: Angels are actually

God’s warriors and messengers, and typically male, not female. They also are not sweet and timid babies with wings (a common misrepresentation). They are portrayed Biblically, and elsewhere, as very frightening in appearance.

And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. (Matt. 28:2—4) KJV

This is one example among many, of the nature of angels; not exactly like the darling little angel as one might refer to a sweet innocent little girl, is it? Does she make the earth quake? Does she make you fear and shake at the sight of her, and do you become as dead men? Another example is of the languid portrayal of Jesus Christ. First of all, in almost anyone’s estimation, even the most unimaginative person, while thinking of a title like King of Kings, couldn’t possibly conjure up anything but the most powerful and majestic image. I think people in general have a reverent fear for a mere king, so what would a king of all kings be like? Christ, being God’s Son, would have attributes like his Father; in Revelation we read of a description of the Throne of God:

And out ofthe throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the mist of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. (Rev. 4:5, 6)

Here is a depiction of events leading up to, and inclusive of, The Second Coming of Christ:

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. (Luke 21:25—27)

Power and Glory are definitely the staple descriptions of both God, and The Son of God. There are other implications here also. People run with a word and distort its intended meaning way out of context, like this example: Christ often used the word meek, but it seems the meaning of the word has been hi-jacked to mean something more akin to weak. Similarly the question arises: how did the powerful and mysterious word of God degenerate into a children’s story? These ideas are food for thought that are related to this current chapter’s subject matter, but will be covered more thoroughly hereafter.

Now even though I previously said that we cannot see the essential nature of the spirit realm, so symbolism is all we can muster, this does not mean we shouldn’t have it. It does mean we shouldn’t misrepresent it in a manner, if not entirely opposite from its obvious meaning, then to that of a grossly distorted and perverted one. If the written word is the baseline for which one might aspire to create a work of art, then it should indeed reflect that scripture as accurately as possible. Adding an abstract and stylized element in an inert form does no harm, but when something is added or subtracted to dilute, distort, or otherwise change the intended meaning as we know it—then is the harm done. Neutrality has not been the problem, but an inversion. One common portrayal comes to mind of the depiction of heaven where its occupants are standing idle on a cloud, playing a harp. So this seemingly innocuous idea, as preposterous as it might seem, could very well have a damning effect! Now don’t be taken aback by this, it will become clear if you will open your mind to the psychological possibilities of this. First of all, even those seeking the truth don’t really know what heaven is like, so all the more are those with closed eyes, hearts and minds, likely to be lost. If you don’t contemplate the unseen at all, albeit by choice, the mind will grasp at any straws of the convenient in its instinctual effort to conclude something.

Consider: your gleanings of whatever knowledge you acquire in this life, from whatever source, comprise your overall knowledge bank. Of course the beauty of this is the fact that you have the choice to revise, add, or edit as much or as often as you like. But sadly, considering our short stay in our bodies, most will not open their minds to eternal wisdom. Nonetheless, even with limited knowledge, the mind tends to automatically render a limited model. You can test this hypothesis in areas of knowledge, other than spiritual. Consider a subject of which you know very little. A psychological model usually comes to mind of your current impressions of the topic, so it seems the mind is incapable of drawing a total blank even if a false impression has to stand in to fill the void. It’s as if the mind is hungry and grasps at whatever it can to fill in unanswered questions, unless the question is never asked. Until such time, if any, you should decide to fill in the blanks as the questions come in, your stand in for some kind of answer will remain. So if your impressions of a thing are very near entirely blank, the tiniest amount known will have to suffice for the model.

So, the cartoon-ish model of heaven that I spoke of is all that some human beings have to fill the knowledge void, for instance. Now there probably isn’t anyone who does not at least have a gut feeling that there might be a little more to this silly portrayal of heaven than this, but my point is only that your overall collection of ideas will formulate your beliefs. With what little one has to build their beliefs upon, and if, of that, it is wholly twisted, distorted and confused, so will be their beliefs, and what people believe is the cause of all of their action and inaction in their lives. Consider how tragic this can be when, in ones entire life-time, they, of what little spiritual knowledge they possess, find it was entirely false, yet was utilized throughout their life to exercise all of their spiritual judgment.

O.K., so here is where the actual damage of these deceptive forces come into play, in fact, as you are reading currently, some of you, surmising the absurdity of this, itself, is evidence of the actual absurdity of it! The very fact that your estimation of this, in all of your pragmatism and intelligence, is foolishness, itself, nearly guarantees its success. Pride is the brain-child of these evil-doers. Or would you rather I called them negative forces?

Now back to the silly cartoon: a particular person in question, having no reasonable clue of eternal or spiritual things, will adopt an altogether false idea. This false idea, coupled with a generous dose of ignorance and confusion, generally leads to a belief in it for lack of anything more; one develops absurd notions about things one does not understand. Like the belief that the eternal resting place of the righteous is somehow static, or boring, thus fostering a subconscious feeling that maybe this isn’t what I want after all, and many literally aspire to go to hell, thinking it a better condition. (Hopefully only the most abased.)

(Now you know these people that I’m referring to wouldn’t read this, so we’re safe in talking about them. We’re safe because, we know who they are, but they don’t know who they are, and even if they did, they wouldn’t know that we knew) You may argue that in their ignorance they are merely joking about things that they have no clue of, so therefore, they are not really serious. Well, this is exactly my point: if, in their spiritual illiteracy, they are joking about going to hell (in a positive light), in all likelihood they’ll probably wind up there, whether serious or not. Contrary to popular belief, what you don’t know will hurt you. And again, like Heaven, nobody really knows what hell is exactly like either, but we should realize by now, you don’t want it.

With what little information one collects of their own accord, and with that inadequacy makes a judgment as to what they are desirous of, I believe, they may indeed get what they wished for based upon what they, of their own volition deemed sufficient. I only consider my best judgment in light of what Christ said regarding the narrow way leading to life, compared to the broad way leading to destruction. Choosing the path of least resistance has never been the way. We make choices, and of those, no matter how we came about them, we reap the consequences in full payment of them, unless of course one can find a way to get someone else to pay. I wouldn’t want to stake my eternal well-being on any guarantees of how one oblivious to their own spiritual condition, will wind up though. (Now, let me just say here, that I certainly don’t profess to know what hell is actually like, but I do know that it means separation from God, and trust me, you don’t want that. To be separated from God implies spiritual death!)

In light of this, you tell me, would you want to strive to go to an abode where one stands idle on a cloud playing a harp for all eternity? Of course not. That’s not heaven, that’s worse than life on earth! Real appealing, huh? Condemned to eternal boredom. Hmmm? ... What’s the other place like?

Many of you may consider yourself way above all of this nonsense, and perhaps you are, but nonetheless, false, and indeed inverted portrayals of things, influence ideas and beliefs, leading to an indifference, or worse yet, a complete ignorance of them, which I obviously believe, has been intentional. These forces work on a deep, subconscious level, and this is why they are
