About this ebook

In a time of grief over his first romantic misunderstanding, Nelson realized that his feelings had to be expressed. Worrying about not wanting to bore anyone with his problems and realizing the amount of long hours he worked in front of a computer, he realized that writing out exactly what was felt during intense moments seemed to ease the pain. Not knowing that there would soon be a whole collection of poems as he continued writing about other romantic situations, he made the poems into a file that would be kept only for himself. After meeting someone very special, his first true love, he wrote much more and made the file into a chapter that would at some point be made into a complete book including other serious and comic poems. And so, this book is a collection of four chapters that examine humor, family, love and the world around him.

After having won multiple contests, being published by Poetry.com, and drawing a crowd of interested readers by being placed regularly in Berkeley Colleges school newsletter, Nelson is finally releasing all of his earliest work for others to read.

The "New Poet" hopes that his honesty, creativity, comic wit and deepest feelings will get others into reading, understanding, writing, and most importantly, enjoying the art of poetry.

Truth, Comedy, & Poetry for All is the new American Dream.

Nelson Onit Vazqueztell

Believe it or not, the author of this hilarious book started his writing career over a romantic mistake, in a time of sadness and confusion.  And both his writing career and his romantic mistake both happened in the college that he graduated from, Berkeley College.  Because of his ‘tragic times and romantic situations’ Nelson Vazqueztell became fascinated with analyzing how our thinking changes and ‘evolves’ over time by learning from our past mistakes in relationships and our lives.  And so, he has captivated readers with his analytical thinking, his gritty points of view and his tales which range from the autobiographical to the impossible.   However, being the class clown he’s always been, it seemed as if this book had been years upon years in the making.  Sure, everyone may know him as a poet, author, and all around storyteller, but anyone that truly knows him will realize that his humor is one-of-a-kind.  Nelson has written comic poems before in his first two books (TRUTH, COMEDY & POETRY for ALL and THE V-FILES: The Truth Is In Here).  And though his books have, until now, been divided into chapters of serious, romantic and comic work, this is the first time that he goes into full-fledged comedy.  Nelson wanted all of his readers to get a pure ‘shot’ of laughter… which he will always call “the best medicine.”  Anyone who knows the author personally can tell you, his sense of humor is most definitely part of his personality.  Without “funny”, there is no Nelson.   Who would have thought that a guy born and raised in tough old Brooklyn would have ended up a published poet?  Not to mention, who would have thought that a name that complicated would have made it onto yet another cover of a book?  Well at the age of 26, he has and there are many more books on the way.  Vigorously working on several manuscripts at a time is what keeps him and his loving wife, his primary editor, busy.    His next projects consist of a story-end-choosing erotica tales compilation (DARC: Love, Lust & Fantasy), another poetry book (BACK TO THE POETRY) and a trilogy of thriller vampire / werewolf legend novels (CODENAMES: VAMP & WOLF).   You Can Contact Nelson directly at the following e-mail: darcmaster@yahoo.com

Truth, Comedy & Poetry for All - Nelson Onit Vazqueztell

    CHAPTER 1

    BESIDES HUMOR & ROMANCE

    MOTHER…

    by Nelson Vazqueztell

    dedicated to mine

    No matter what the situation,

    you were always there

    No matter what the circumstances,

    you always truly cared

You were there in our times of need

You were even there when we didn’t need your support

    You were always helping us,

with any problem of any sort

    You took on many roles,

in the years of being our mother

And I personally think that like you,

    there is absolutely no other

As our doctor you kept us healthy

As our teacher you taught us well

As our friend you were there for talking

As counselor, to you our problems we could tell

You were always there when we needed you

    You never let us down

You knew what had to be done,

without us even making a sound

You helped me become my own life’s writer,

as my life unfolded like a book full of chapters

You’ve been there for my sadness

And you’ve been there for my laughters

I thank you for those days of smiles

I thank you for advice on my days of sorrow

Because even though I may not show it

I will always remember all this in my every tomorrow

Dear Mother as you get older,

    you never lose your touch

Dear Mother, you are the best mother and

I will always think of you as such

    EGYPTIAN VISIONS

    by Nelson Vazqueztell

I stand by your tomb, while the quietness is thick within the air

Not very bright in here, light and life are barely anywhere

A giant black sarcophagus before me is all I see

Though it does not spook me, it does fill me with intrigue

So many hieroglyphics, so much detail, so much mass and space

Were you important in your time, did everyone know your face?

No plaque, no information, no way of telling anything about your existence

It’s as if you died, and no one knows anything about you ever since

Unknown Egyptian, what do all those intricate symbols mean?

Hieroglyphics that I do not know, but many times have seen

Each symbol may show truths about your past

But in trying to decipher, I go no where fast

Winged Isis is on your resting place, sideways, knelt and with open wings

She, along with all those designs, is what keeps me questioning

The utterly uniform face on your coffin, same as others, does not give a clue

as to what where the true facial features that actually belonged to you

My question still lies; who were you to this great civilization?

Seems to me your importance was great, to give a carcass such protection

And the most intriguing piece of all,

is that you are standing over seven feet tall

So intriguing is the appearance of your black granite case

The case which keeps me from seeing your face

    That sarcophagus seems so strong

but then again, it must be to protect you for so long

In near perfect condition your coffin stands from so long ago

And I can’t help but wonder to where has traveled you soul

Before you died, did you read the book of the dead?

When you died, were any of its spells read?

What were those chapters, what did they mean?

How many chapters were there in this book that I have not seen?

Where has your ba gone… who holds your soul?

Is the afterlife what you expected? Is the netherworld where we all go?

Now that you are beyond our realm, perhaps your soul is at
