The V-Files: The Truth Is in Here
()
About this ebook
In becoming a poet, Ive noticed that I now pay strict attention to every detail around me. I used to take my surroundings for granted, and I didnt always pay close attention to everything there was to notice. Welcome! Welcome once again to another book of poetry and to my wild, creative and imaginative mind. In this second poetry book I hope you find the stories much more interesting, the comedy much more refreshing and that the romance takes you to a few nostalgic moments of your own.
You may notice that this second collection of my work is a little different to my first, TRUTH, COMEDY & POETRY for ALL, in that there are not as many love poems. This time around, I wanted to express a little more of my other sides instead of just the romance. So I decided, sure, there is still going to be plenty of heart felt tales in here, but there will be more emphasis on the serious and comic aspects this time around. I also made most of the poems much, much shorter. I wanted to make sure there wouldnt be constant thoughts of, "Gee, this poem is a little too long and therefore I am uncontrollably daydreaming due to the length of this study-hall of a poem." Then again, according to my test group, it seems that the long stories here are pretty good. But you can be the judge of that.
The reason I wrote my first book was to get others into reading poetry and writing some of their own. However, the reason I wanted to write this second book was because I wanted to know that if I were to die tomorrow, I would leave something behind that could still make people smile or think. I wanted to create something that would last and be appreciated for generations to come. I wanted to leave behind a mark of my existence. And so here is my book.
If you havent read my first book, well, I want to start over with a "Hello." I am a fairly new poet and writer who will either make you think, laugh or say, "My God this romantic material is going to come in handy for the next time I meet someone I like." Whatever the scenario, I just want to remind everyone that we all have three sides to us. We may not show all of them every day, but within all of us exists a serious side, a humorous side and a romantic side. In both of my poetry books I show my different characters, and then some. Especially, in THE V-FILES.
Nelson Onit Vazqueztell
Believe it or not, the author of this hilarious book started his writing career over a romantic mistake, in a time of sadness and confusion. And both his writing career and his romantic mistake both happened in the college that he graduated from, Berkeley College. Because of his ‘tragic times and romantic situations’ Nelson Vazqueztell became fascinated with analyzing how our thinking changes and ‘evolves’ over time by learning from our past mistakes in relationships and our lives. And so, he has captivated readers with his analytical thinking, his gritty points of view and his tales which range from the autobiographical to the impossible. However, being the class clown he’s always been, it seemed as if this book had been years upon years in the making. Sure, everyone may know him as a poet, author, and all around storyteller, but anyone that truly knows him will realize that his humor is one-of-a-kind. Nelson has written comic poems before in his first two books (TRUTH, COMEDY & POETRY for ALL and THE V-FILES: The Truth Is In Here). And though his books have, until now, been divided into chapters of serious, romantic and comic work, this is the first time that he goes into full-fledged comedy. Nelson wanted all of his readers to get a pure ‘shot’ of laughter… which he will always call “the best medicine.” Anyone who knows the author personally can tell you, his sense of humor is most definitely part of his personality. Without “funny”, there is no Nelson. Who would have thought that a guy born and raised in tough old Brooklyn would have ended up a published poet? Not to mention, who would have thought that a name that complicated would have made it onto yet another cover of a book? Well at the age of 26, he has and there are many more books on the way. Vigorously working on several manuscripts at a time is what keeps him and his loving wife, his primary editor, busy. His next projects consist of a story-end-choosing erotica tales compilation (DARC: Love, Lust & Fantasy), another poetry book (BACK TO THE POETRY) and a trilogy of thriller vampire / werewolf legend novels (CODENAMES: VAMP & WOLF). Introduction by the Author & Records Keeper of
‘THE V-FILES’
In becoming a poet, I’ve noticed that I now pay strict attention to every detail around me. I used to take my surroundings for granted, and I didn’t always pay close attention to everything there was to notice. Welcome! Welcome once again to another book of poetry and to my wild, creative and imaginative mind. In this second poetry book I hope you find the stories much more interesting, the comedy much more refreshing and that the romance takes you to a few nostalgic moments of your own.
You may notice that this second collection of my work is a little different to my first (TRUTH, COMEDY & POETRY for ALL) in that there are not as many love poems. This time around, I wanted to express a little more of my other sides instead of just the romance. So I decided, sure, there is still going to be plenty of ‘heart felt tales’ in here, but there will be more emphasis on the serious and comic aspects this time around. I also made most of the poems much, much shorter. I wanted to make sure there wouldn’t be constant thoughts of, Gee, this poem is a little too long and therefore I am uncontrollably daydreaming due to the length of this ‘study-hall’ of a poem.
Then again, according to my test group, it seems that the long stories here are pretty good.
If you haven’t read my first book, well, I want to start over with a Hello.
I am a fairly new poet and writer who will either make you think, laugh or say, My God this romantic material is going to come in handy for the next time I meet someone I like.
Whatever the scenario, I just want to remind everyone that we all have three sides to us. We may not show all of them every day, but within all of us exists a serious side, a humorous side and a romantic side. In both of my poetry books I show my different characters, and then some. Especially, in THE V- FILES.
Obviously everyone has to be serious in order to survive in this dog-eat-dog business world around us. However, no one can be serious at all times. I mean laughter is the best medicine of all. Ahh, and then there’s romance… many mistake love (the passion between two lovers that keeps you committed to your lover), lust (strictly animal attraction which involves little or no love) and romance (the art of fancying and treating an other’s heart in a consciousness of love) for the same thing. But they are most certainly not as I try to dissect them all within my pages. At the age of 21 (the age that I began my second book), I have to admit that I have seen and felt so much that I could not help but to write so much of it down. And now here, in its book form, my experiences and wild mind come together for the second time to bring you into the strange world that I live in and the ones I create.
My readers always asks me, Where do you come up with so many ideas?
And you know what? Until this day, I sometimes surprise myself with the cute or crazy things I come up with. My life is full of romance and craziness… and as you read this book you’ll see exactly what I mean. And as for my creative stories and poems, there are nights that I may be having a dream and I’ll wake up in the middle of the night just to write it down. I have sticky pads everywhere and thoughts running rampant all the time.
Hard to believe that when I chose a High School, I went to a Veterinary Science. And when I went for my Associates in college, I wanted to end up in Retail. I realized by the end of it all that I was flunking in one and hated the other, respectively. Yet, I never took any classes for writing and I ended up falling in love with poetry. I believe that Petrarch (a grand Italian poet at the very beginning of the Renaissance) said it best when he wrote, It is remarkable that I long to write, yet do not know what to write, or to whom, and yet-what an unrelenting pleasure!- paper, pen, ink and sleepless nights give more satisfaction than sleep and repose.
Well, to tell you the absolute truth, that’s what I love about writing. It’s that feeling of wanting to continue to fill a page with ideas until your mind is clean. That makes writing interesting and fun.
The problem though, after getting all these great ideas, is getting published. It’s hard to even think about sending your manuscript to twenty publishers and knowing that everyone of those companies will simply stack your manuscript into the stacks of manuscripts and they may not get to it for months. Hell, that’s if you’re lucky… it could be years. So, I decided to self publish. I mean, according to Vantage Press and Watermark Press, (which are both just chock full of great information) Nathaniel Hawthorne (for Fanshawe, known better for The Scarlet Letter), Leo Tolstoy (War and Peace), Edgar Allan Poe (Tamerlane and Other Poems), Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Lord Byron, Percy Bysshe Shelley, Alfred Lord Tennyson, Walt Whitman, T.S. Eliot, Rudyard Kipling and even Mark Twain,
have all paid to have their work published! So you know what? Do the homework, find a company that works for you and goes along with all your instructions, and get books out there too. Get some benchmarks out there or your own. Let others see how you see the world. You never know who or what you can change out there. I mean after all, you can’t live forever… but your book could.
PS: Let’s hear it for Alaska… they’re actually putting poetry on their beer bottles to spur interest in poetry. (Time, News Quiz,

CHAPTER 1
HONEST & SERIOUS
I found the sweetest nostalgia filling me when I returned to Coney Island, after 13 years, and I squeezed in with my mom into that ‘Happy Worm’ roller coaster and relived my happy childhood moments of being with her when I was just 11 years old. I barely fit now with mom… but it was wonderful to share a moment like that with her again.
Nelson Vazqueztell
THE SCARE AFTER AN ULTIMATE PLEASURE
by Nelson Vazqueztell
dedicated to those caught up in an uncontrollable moment (5/14/98)
What were we thinking?
How could we be so wrong?
Now we wait for our fate
but the wait feels so long
That day was like a fantasy
so real, we both lost control
It’s incredible to think however
that we might have created a soul
I love you at any cost, my love
No matter what problems our fate will reveal
Though truthfully I don’t know
how with this possibility to deal
A human life should not be taken…
not after it’s been made
You never know what may be taken…
what future could’ve been in play
Until our moment of truth, my dear
worries run so deep
Now we both think about our actions
because worries don’t let us sleep
No matter what, my love
I truly don’t plan on losing you
If positive… then we’ll become three
If negative… we’ll remain two
16-YEAR-OLDS
by Nelson Vazqueztell (1/23/00)
Guys… sure they look good… hell, most are just ready, willing and able
However, before you jump the gun… think about it…
Sure at sixteen they have no inhibitions and express the greatest of feelings…
but they’re also too young… in other words, immature
Sure at this age they have all the time in the world for you…
but what can you possibly talk about with someone who has had no experiences
And sure, you may be thinking that talking is overrated… and that you’re only
interested in getting a little action… hell, youth and stamina go hand in hand, right?
Well guess again hotshot… they’re illegal from the day you turned 18
Let them be… let those of their age range have them
MY HEART SHATTERED AGAIN
by Nelson Vazqueztell
dedicated to a slayer and betrayer, AMS (7/3/98)
It seems like I’ve once again had my heart broken
God, how is it we can never get used to that pain?
And so this newfound love has also crumbled
Once again I have been left alone to wander in the rain
To think I actually wanted to make you my bride
Now it seems like the only bride will be your intervening mother
She has to be engaged to Lucifer, she’s Satan’s bride
Now I’m left alone once again to begin my search for another
Everything would have worked if that demon didn’t exist
But she lives and she killed what we had, it’s all lost
Baby, I would have waited years to be with you again
But what truly destroyed my heart is that I was also double-crossed
You turned to her side and told her everything I’d ever told you
I feel so betrayed… you broke my trust
Honey, I thought we’d last forever in our fantasy world
Yet is was, Ashes to ashes, and dust to dust
Ever notice how when you’re alone everyone has someone?
However, now is a time when alone I want to and must be
I truly let go of all our love and emotion for you my dear
When you, to save your hide, went against my family
I stand by in wonder as my life continues
Will my heart ever stop shattering and breaking?
Is love really worth the pain and the blues?
Well it is, but not when a back-stabber causes the aching!
We had our memories and our moments, oh yes
But now I wonder if the smiles were just an evil trick of some sort
To blind me so that you could get what you wanted
Now our whole romantic past, of truth, falls so short
You violated my trust, ‘kiddo’
You also aimed and acted against people that to me are close
I would have waited for you until forever
But when you stabbed me in the back, to end all hope you chose
WHAT’S HE THINKING?
by Nelson Vazqueztell (7/31/98)
When an innocent person who means no one harm
gets pulled aside so that he can’t yell for help as he’s getting mugged…
What’s God thinking?
When a young woman who seeks only affection and commitment
gets pulled into a dark alley or stairway to be brutally raped…
What’s God thinking?
When a child is innocently at home, in his room
and a stray bullet rips through a wall to kill him after a 3-day critical condition…
What… could God… possibly be thinking?
THE RIGHT SITUATION
by Nelson Vazqueztell (7/31/98)
Do you think you would ever steal?
Let’s say… you’re poor and you see your child dying of hunger
Starving is he and no one at all will help you
While he cries, you see a nearby fruit-stand open
You have a quick opportunity and no money. What will you do?
In the right situation, you’d steal wouldn’t you?
Do you think you would ever kill?
Suppose… some mugger is threatening your crying mother
The son of a bitch has a knife to her neck
You have a knife as well as a quick hand
There’s a hero’s chance of opportunity. What will you do in sec?
In the right situation, you’d kill wouldn’t you?
Do you think you would…
In the right situation, you would… wouldn’t you?
MAN VERSUS MACHINE
by Nelson Vazqueztell (8/7/98)
‘Machine’ can do just about anything…
better and quicker than Man can complete
But the mystery of emotion and tears…
is to any Machine an impossible feat
Man may not have the power of Machine
And Man may not last as long as Machine
And Man may not produce as much as Machine
However, what’s the use of such power if you cannot dream
Man needs water and food to live
Machine needs oil and electricity to survive
Man can act like Machine and seem robotic
However, never can Machine act human and seem alive
Machine is neither fearful nor affectionate
Neither does Machine have any thoughts of it’s own
Man however must have fears and must love
Man also thinks whether it’s collectively or alone
Let the future battle begin
There will soon be a day where because of Man, Machine will ‘awake’
Man’s intelligence will be it’s downfall or it’s upper hand
However, there’s still chance for Man to erase mistake
SPENDING TIME WISELY
by Nelson Vazqueztell (8/7/98)
One must be careful of how we spend our time
We shouldn’t always think of it as just being mine
For instance, the times spent with parents should not be rare
One must remember that they won’t forever be there
Finding time to be with your love is something that must be done
A sweetheart without time is as useful as a plant without sun
Time helps make relationships and bonds grow stronger
And as many believe, your life has a preset limit that will not get any longer
Appreciate all that is around you
Care for all there is around too
Remember there are no second chances in life… when it has ended
So please, listen well, use your time here wisely and watch how you spend it
POINT OF VIEW
by Nelson Vazqueztell
dedicated to someone very dear, Mervin Otero (8/23/98)
You know that statement about not knowing what it’s like
until you’ve walked a mile in another’s shoes?
Well… it is those of us without an open mind out here that in judging quickly, are
blinded by facts of what is the reality
I speak to you of a man behind bars for murder…
a man serving a fifteen to life sentence…
It all depends… on how you look at him
TO THE THIEF OF WORDS
by Nelson Vazqueztell
dedicated to Zahir and any others who could be using other’s ‘spoken word’ (6/28/99)
Plagiarist… thief… loser… did you call my work your own?
Has your charisma gotten you this far?
How many have you stolen from before?
Where is your conscience when you profit from the unknown?
Are you stupid and desperate that you can’t express your own feelings?
Can anyone trust in the words of a man who has none of his own?
And when you finally do write something of your own, can you be trusted…
I mean what is truly YOUR work?
THE HEART BREAKER’S DEMISE
by Nelson Vazqueztell
dedicated to all those that need a little lesson to be taught, like Shelly (9/8/98)
For years she has been known
only as a seductive player
Anyone who met this woman,
got caught without a prayer
Never once thinking of how a broken heart hurts,
she’d break them left and right
She’d date without any worry or any care
Her only care was where she’d go each night
This player was an expert at seduction
and even more knowledgeable at manipulations
This sexy young woman could charm herself into any heart
and when she’d used them enough, she’d end the relations
She’d use the three little words as a hook
She used her gorgeous body as bait
This professional had all the tricks to a ‘T’
Any man would think of her as ‘great’
With a smile she could get any amount of money
With a kiss she could get any jewel
She would leave them all in debt for the next man
Not once thinking it was all so immoral and cruel
Then finally one day she met someone she thought was ‘Mr. Right,’
However, he was a player who seduced her instead
Since they had met, she’d want to only be with him,
but the same plan was not running through his head
At one point she swore to end her old ways
Now she would be faithful and would cherish
The bombshell even promised to give instead of take
However
