About this ebook

Define Yourself And Discover Your Destiny!

Do you define your life, or does your life define you?

This book is about how to know yourself. It is about how to define who and what you are - in your own terms, from the inside out - and thereby discover your true destiny.

If your life's not working and you're not happy, or if you have found a comfort zone but you know there has to be more, then it is time to consider Defining. In fact, if your life is less than ideal on all levels, you can't afford not to Define!

It is never too late to Define, and anyone can do it. Most of us are sleep-walking, stuck in the nightmare of a Victim mentality. The life most of us live is not True Reality (Oneness); it is the dream of separation and thus of suffering. Our one job in this lifetime is to wake up! In this book, as JoAnn Janson shares the Life Cycles, Purification System and Daily Action Plan that constitute her Defining Process, she shows you how to do just that.

This is the most important work you will ever do. Only you know if you are ready to meet the ultimate challenge.

(The Truth of My Being), 2003, a sequel to Define Yourself and Discover Your Destiny!, highlights JoAnnÕs insights and spiritual awakenings during the late nineties just a short time before she reaches her destiny in this 3D earth dimension. She looked forward to new experiences in the next dimension as her "Super Self" and as "Master Creator". INTRODUCTION

This is the most important work you will ever do!

This is a book about how to know yourself. It is about how to define who and what you are in your own terms, from the inside out, and thereby discover your true destiny. It is about how to heal your life.

This book was written for several reasons:

    1)   To share the fact that we must all first go within to define who and what we are-from the inside out and in our own terms-before we can finally create our ideal life on the outside. We have been doing it backwards for too long. None of our answers are out there. All our answers are within. Most people do not know this.

    2)   To assist people who, even when they do understand the first reason, have become so desensitized and automatized as a result of living in an exterior-oriented world that they have no idea of how to reconnect with their inner self.

    3)   To assist people who sincerely want to make the change, but who lack the structure and order they need to pursue the goal in a productive and progressive fashion. They mayconsider themselves on a path; but in reality, they charge in several directions at once, randomly consuming whatever current seminar, bestselling book, lecture, tarot card reading, or healing method is available, in their feverish quest for enlightenment.

All these things have their intrinsic value, yet when indiscriminately and haphazardly guzzled, the knowledge never becomes knowing because seekers have no orderly framework within which to apply the knowledge. Sometimes the information they receive is of a very poor quality or at a level that is inappropriate for them at that time. Some people blindly yet readily ingest megadoses of information of all kinds, some of which may not be right for them under any circumstances. And some of it may be wasted because people do not yet have the ability to properly integrate it. Define Yourself and Discover Your Destiny! offers a framework within which to function. It also provides suggestions for plans of action that will facilitate the process of discovering all that you are and all that you can be. It will help you to define the truth of your being.

    4) To inform people that, as I discovered, most of what is out there they do not need. You can use this book if you wish, but you do not need it. Many outside sources are only distractions from the one true need in this Process: to know oneself. All you require to set the ball in motion is your self plus a sincere and keen intention, a first step, perseverance, and the occasional boost if you get stuck.

All our answers are within. If we could simply make the inner connection instantly and completely, we would heal our lives in a single moment. In fact, the inverse of the current reality is that we are (in the Big Picture) whole and healed. The True Reality is that we are seeing things upside down, caught in the Dream of separation and exclusion that we call Life. We are too affected by a history of inherited ways and beliefs (not to mention by current societal expectations) to be able to see our essence and Oneness as whole, complete, illumined beings. So it is that we seem to need steps in order to make a more gradual, gentler transition. This book is oneway of doing the steps.

Defining yourself may not be easy, but it is simple. Anyone can do it. Your age, religion, height, weight, social status, financial state, I.Q., genealogy, and personality-none of them matter. Even the primitive tribesman can do this work! Anyone can do it because anyone who can think and feel has what it takes. It is all inside you. This inner you of which I speak is not of flesh and blood, although if you were to look for it anywhere in the physical, I would say Look in your heart.

As you read this book, consider reading with your heart, seeing with your heart, feeling with your heart, and knowing with your heart. It is time we balance the scales and bring the art of feeling and intuiting up to the same status that thinking has acquired. You will need to use both thinking and feeling in the process of Defining. If you ever have to defer to one or the other, I suggest you defer to your heart.

Feeling is the bridge to knowing yourself, which is freedom. If you remain in or join the vicious cycle of acquiring knowledge and more knowledge for security’s sake, you will never get out of the rut. This will become clearer as you live your way through your own Defining Process. While you will always inquire, you will also need to learn to feel your own answers.

If you can consider the possibility that, despite its seeming simplicity, there is more to this information than meets the eye, you will one day bless the decision you made to do so. Miracles await you if you can muster the pluck to look beyond your present conditioning-after first recognizing it as conditioning-and then intend to see with new eyes.

If your life is not working, if it is less than you know it could be, and if you are not content, you do not need a Ph.D. in Psychology nor thousands of dollars’ worth of therapy in order to figure out why or how to change it. You have inner resources, vast beyond description, that you can rally to your cause. And if you wish, you have this Defining Process that you can use as a model or starting point from which to design your own process.

Your results depend upon how willing you are to know the whole truth, and on how serious you are about making the changes. Your level of desire and your application of that desire determine the degree of change and the magnitude of the results you experience.

There is no quick fix here. There is no instant gratification (not unless you are so sincere and able to surrender so completely that transformation is instantaneous and complete!). Most of us have buried the childlike quality of innocence which would allow us to unquestioningly trust and wholly participate, heart and soul. Most of us need to be cajoled into giving up the status quo, even when what we have is not what works for us at all. Most of us need the steps. With each step, surrender becomes easier because our connection with our inner world gets stronger. Making that initial inner connection is key to your successful interpretation and use of the information in this book. It is key to the whole Defining Process, in fact.

It is also critical that you become your own teacher and authority. This is not to say that you will never again seek out another viewpoint or approach. It means that wherever you go and whatever you do, you decide what works for you. It means that as you read and feel this book, you consider the contents and then you decide both what to incorporate in your own way and what to discard. You will read about the Process lived one way-my way. Your process may be the same and it may not. Only you can know.

Perceptions change constantly, and there are countless layers to every concept, reality, and lesson (as you will find out.) Where you are in your process is not to be judged. It is just where you are. We all get to different places at different times by different routes and different means. There is no being ahead of nor behind anyone else. There is no better than nor less than, no being farther along nor at a higher level. There is no faster than nor slower than. There is just where you are. I honor your quest as I honor my own. You, too, are wise to honor every quest-especially your own.

Age is no barrier to defining. You are never too old nor too young to define. Toddlers are already well into their Defining Process. unfortunately, all too many well-conditioned parents, grandparents, and caregivers find it inconvenient and unnerving to just let children be to explore and experiment. Instead, these children are said to be in the terrible twos. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself right back in the terrible twos as part of your Defining Process! (Yes, this is a humbling experience, so be forewarned!)

The basic idea here is to use your discretion in considering the possibilities in this book. You might note especially the chapters on The Defining Process: Q & A and Why Define? in order to find the motivation to do your own defining. Read the chapters in the order presented. (You will see the logic of this as you move along.) Come to understand the Process itself. Familiarize yourself with the Life Cycles, and integrate the Daily Action Plan (DAP.) Then no matter what arises, you will have the wherewithal to pinpoint your position in the cycle based on the probabilities you will have learned. From there, you can easily determine the most appropriate action (if any) to take.

You will develop your own slant on the Defining Process. You will see how one move always quite ingeniously leads to the next, like the sequence in a giant Rubik’s Cube. This would suggest that there is a master plan of some kind that exists for all of us. It seems as if each of us is a single cell in a much larger body, and our process seems akin to the concept of the DNA in human cells. The Defining Process, once we become aware of it, clearly unfolds as if some giant genetic coding has been triggered. It seems to have a mind of its own, yet it is predictable. The code is activated and a new phase of development emerges. When gestation of that phase is complete, the passage of the old simultaneously heralds the birth of the next natural, new phase--the fresh reality.

Maybe you did not realize it, but you are already in process. Maybe you do know it, but you have not been able to stand back far enough to really get a handle on it. One thing you should know: Once you consciously embrace your process, it does not leave you nor let you go. This is the crossroads. You can buck progress; or you can give up your resistance, take a deep breath, and plunge!

We are all in this together. There is no time when one can say one has arrived. I am someone just like you, and I am taking this opportunity to share with you what I have learned. I am simply offering for your consideration what I have gathered from my Defining Process. Whether you accept and use it or not is none of my business. I trust that if you do consider Defining, subsequent chapters will facilitate your progress and make Defining a whole lot easier to embrace, negotiate, and even enjoy!

All our answers are within. We have only to learn how to go within to receive them. Your capacity to trust and accurately interpret your inner voice will be tested, to be sure. Pay no attention to anyone outside yourself when it comes to this. No matter what anyone else says (and sometimes it will seem that you must be the crazy one because apparently the whole world opposes you), you must still stick to what you know and feel. This is the supreme test. It also pays the highest rewards.

This is the most important work you will ever do. It is more important than any medical cure, computer technology, mathematical equation, or scientific breakthrough. To know yourself is to know the very essence of all life. To know yourself is to know all.

Know yourself and you will know every other human being, for in the Big Picture we are all one and the same.

Know yourself and you will understand the meaning of life and why you were born.

Know yourself and know your destiny.

Know yourself and you will heal your life.

Know yourself and you help heal the world.

Know yourself and you can do anything.

Know yourself and you are free!

What you will glean from this book is only the tip of the iceberg. The beauty of this information is that it will lead you to so much more, beyond the scope of Life Cycles and Plans of Action.

This is the most important work you will ever do! But don’t take my word for it. Prove it to yourself.

    THE DEFINING PROCESS:

    Q & A

    Q.What is the Defining Process?

JJ. The Defining Process is a life process which all of us are living, whether we know it or not. Most people don’t have the objectivity to realize that there is a method to their madness, and because they do not, they appear to be at the mercy of their lives. Often this is also what
