    Gauge

    Gauge is not important for this project.

    Pattern Notes

    Use 2 strands of yarn held together throughout for Mat only.

    Chain-2 at end of row counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated.

    Embellish as desired or as shown using listed Embellishments.

    1 Sunburst (on page 16)

    1 Large Heart with Curlicue in center (on pages 17 and 18)

    1 Zinnia with bead in center (on page 18)

    1 Beaded String with flower button (on page 22)

    3 large Pompoms (on page 19)

    4 Tassels (on page 19)

    Mat

    Row 1 (RS): Holding 2 strands tog (see Pattern Notes) ch 30, working in back bar of ch (see illustration), dc in 3rd ch from hook (2 sk chs count as a dc) and in each rem ch. Turn. (29 dc)

    Back Bar of Chain

    Row 2: Sl st in first dc, dc in next dc; *sl st in next dc, dc in next dc; rep from * to beg 2 sk chs; sl st in 2nd ch of beg 2 sk chs. Ch 2 (see Pattern Notes), turn.

    Row 3: Dc in each dc and in each sl st, turn.

    Row 4: Sl st in first dc, dc in next dc; *sl st in next dc, dc in next dc; rep from * to turning ch-2; sl st in 2nd ch of turning ch-2. Ch 2, turn.

    Row 5: Dc in each dc and in each sl st, turn.

    Rep rows 4 and 5 until piece measures 17 inches long. At end of last row, do not ch 2, do not turn. Fasten off.
