New Edinburgh Space Station, Fourth Day Fourth Month, 3000 A.E.
Ms. Striker graciously allowed Shanti to have Third Day to rest from her exhausting journey. Not to mention that Mrs. Banks needed to set up an appointment at the nurse’s office. And with the installation crew for the e-translator. And with the lock company so that Shanti’s handprint could be entered into the school’s lock database. Thus, Mrs. Banks spent Third Day making appointments, and Shanti kept to her room. She didn’t even leave her sitting room to take turns around the gallery. Or to eat with the girls.
It felt entirely luxurious to Shanti to not have to see anyone, besides the maids who brought her meals in and out of the sitting room.
Thus, when Mrs. Banks appeared in her sitting room after breakfast on Fourth Day, Shanti steeled herself for a long day of errands.
The medical offices were in the fifth sector of the space station. The elevator ride took nearly forty-five minutes. Thankfully, they took the same hallway off the main corridor as last time.
