World Building From the Inside Out: Workbook began because of a review posted about World Building From the Inside Out. A very particular review that mentioned the following:
Highly recommended. I hope she makes a workbook to accompany it!
Here’s to you, Bethany A. Jennings. Thanks for the inspiration!
Introduction
All world building begins with questions.
Questions like: What if the grass was purple?
Or: Why not have all major conflicts take place in sporting arenas?
Or: What would happen if you crossed a dictator with a pacifist?
World Building From the Inside Out: Workbook is filled with questions to help you probe more deeply into the cultures of your created world and fill them with meaning that pushes plot and builds tension.
Each chapter corresponds to a chapter in World Building From the Inside Out. There is some space after each question to jot down notes, and an additional page at the end of each chapter.
This workbook is designed to align with the textbook. However, you can use it individually as a way to jumpstart your creative process, consider new categories, or delve more deeply into your cultures. Feel free to skip any sections that don’t apply, but be aware that the deeper you go, the more it all tends to apply in some way.
For now, I leave you to your story and world building.
Ask questions. Dream big. Build the fantastic!
