He had always known that he wasn't going to be the President of anything. It wasn't that Michael wasn't smart enough to have made something of himself, he was just so goddamn lazy. He'd always been lazy, he had barely been a C student throughout high school as well as college and that seemed to be where he was most comfortable. He hadn't ever wanted to go to college, that was something that his old man had insisted on, the prick had always been on his nuts about grades and getting a job and Christ knows that he was never happy.

The old man finally had a heart attack a couple of years ago and seemed to have accepted that his son was just enjoying life, something he never did. It wasn't a great paying job, in fact, his wife Theresa was never going to be able to quit working overtime at the hospital in order for them to keep up with the Joneses and everyone else that mattered to his uptight wife. Michael loved her, he shrugged as he stared at her picture on his desk in his cramped office, she was a great mother after all and if you squinted, she was still a shadow of the adorable, young girl that he had met almost fifteen years ago. Michael knew that a few of his friends still found Theresa hot, but of course, they didn't have his job and his high standards.
