A SYMPHONY OF LIFE
A stillness, a quietness fills the air,
then a sweet softness sings out.
Not a cry, nor a scream but a challenge.
There is a questioning and an answering,
a rebellion to authority, a longing to be free,
a willingness to please and reluctance.
One moment of love and or sorrow
will soon be forgotten as another
happy or painful one takes its place.
The ever changing beat is now repetitious.
Then without warning
it slowly fades away until it is gone.
The beauty of the lyrics and expression,
this internal feeling
will continue on and on as a symphony of life.
CELEBRATE
SPECIAL DAYS
Remembering special days is important.
We celebrate many days during the year.
Do you know why today is special?
Do you know why I am celebrating today?
It's special because I have you.
ABC’S OF PARENTING
Answering questions patiently you must provide answers
that are easily understood.
Babysitting your children and others will become an activity
you learn to enjoy.
Caring for your children changes over their lifetime but your
confidence will grow over time.
Deciding whether to get a pet can be difficult balancing your
child’s maturity and your already busy life.
Enduring hours of no sleep, you will still eagerly respond
to your child’s cry.
Failing occurs in any child’s life and you must
teach them to continue to try.
Going over homework with your young children is also
one of your responsibilities as a parent.
Home is always where you and your children can find
a meal and a place to sleep.
Interest in your child’s daily activities will be easier if
you put your expectations aside.
Joining the P.T.A. is an important first step after your
child enters kindergarten.
Kids slamming doors will become commonplace
despite your pleas.
Leaving food temptations within reach of small hands will not
be a habit quickly unlearned.
Misbehaving children must be punished in order for them
to learn to be good.
Naming your first child can create conflict between
the new grandparents.
Opening up new ideas, new things to children can be a
wonderful thing for you and your child.
Preparing your children to cope with the problems of
growing up is your job.
Quadruplets would certainly surprise a great
many people.
Racing after little ones to catch them before they fall
keeps you busy.
Sex is now behind closed doors during the middle of the night
or when the kids are gone.
Trying to keep a straight face hiding a laugh when you
child does something very outrageous.
Understanding and recollecting your past can give you
the patience for parenting.
Values are another important thing that must
be taught to your children.
Waiting patiently as your child ages you relive your life
trying to ensure theirs will be better.
X rays will be taken from time and time as little bones
are broken in play.
Youth activities will develop and change and some will make
you proud yet others you will fear.
Zipping up the kid’s snowsuits becomes quite a chore
during the winter months.
RETIREMENT
A day you never thought would come is finally near.
Only a few more days until you are
free of the work world,
free to take more control of your life.
Looking back on your life, those many years,
you realize how quickly times has come and gone.
You wonder what you've accomplished
and what you've learned.
Think of all the people you've met
and how each influenced your life.
Good experiences and bad,
they were all preparing you for this event.
Each year of your life shaped the
