Axioms of Wisdom - D.D. Evans
CHAPTER ONE: MARRIAGE
IF YOU WANT TO MARRY ME:
You will have no other man/woman, in place of me.
You will not keep pictures of old boyfriends/girlfriends, to long after them.
You will give me one day per week, special and unique, just for us.
You will honor me with your speech.
You will honor my parents and my parenting.
You will give life, to our family and nurture them, with your words.
You will be faithful, in our relationship, until death comes between us.
You will be honest, with our money and generous to those in need, beginning at home.
You will speak the truth in love.
You will be modest and humble in your desire for material things.
If this sounds familiar these are the characteristics of a relationship, with God, the author of marriage.
(Exodus 20:3-17)
CHAPTER TWO: PROBLEM SOLVING
The Biblical solution , to a problem, is: joy, patience, and endurance; all of which reside in trust.
Joy is spiritual strength.
Patience is waiting, with anticipation for a resolution.
Endurance is persevering, under duress, until the end.
Ne 8:10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Jas 1:4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Isa 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
1Jo 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. [5] Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
Mt 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
1Co 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Ro 8:31 ¶ What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? [37] Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
The perfect work
of patience is: fulfillment, satisfaction, and confidence; whereas, impatience produces: chaos, waste, and failure.
Overcoming problems is done through praise, prayer and compliance; not through cursing, bitterness, and silence.
Praise is remembering the good that has been done.
Prayer is communicating, with the one who instructs us, to do good.
Compliance is obeying the instruction, to do good in the future.
Ro 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. [20] Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in
