Symphonies from utopia of the soul
Poetry is Art... these three words, in this sequence are
certainly the most exhilarating, glorious and at some
thought; most ambiguous. They appear to explain it all,
yet at the same time they don't even begin to cover all
things we might feel or think when they are said. Poetry is
the art of reminding the heart how to feel again, the mind
how to think again and the lungs how to breathe again
with a revived sense of hope.
All the poems in this book aim to capture something that
is beyond the grasp of words yet within the palms of the
human soul. Poetry in all its nature and intent is good, it
encapsulates and amplifies the essence of the human
spirit. Each poem may have a form, shape, meaning and
purpose of its own, yet all poems seek to do, is to elicit
something in each of us –
that is better experienced than explained.
Every poem relates and resonates with each reader in its
own unique way, different from another reader. Poems
are a mirror to which the reader's soul seeks to reveal to
itself, graciously regale its custodian with truths that
reverberate deeply in the chambers of their heart.
In subtle ways, poetry reminds us to never hold on to the
past, for it holds us back, but to look forward to the
future, for that forges us ahead.

Hopes of the poet
Every poem is unique in its own way. The message it relays, the essence it encapsulates, the words it’s constructed with, how it is read, and most importantly, how it heals, enlightens or simply touches the reader’s heart and the thoughts it inspires.
Every poem is a living work of art in its own way, with its own soul and a modest purpose to serve in the life of the reader. All poems should be pure, and by pure I refer to their source – what inspired their writing, as well as why it was written. Poetry is art through love and love through art – in writing it, in reading it, it contemplating it, in embracing its message, and in cherishing its melody.
In the words of the venerable poet, David Whyte, "The poet lives and writes at the frontier between deep internal experience and the revelations of the outer world. There is no going back once this frontier has been reached; a new territory is visible and what has been said cannot be unsaid. The discipline of poetry is in overhearing yourself say difficult truths from which it is impossible to retreat.
"Poetry is a break for freedom. In a sense all poems are good; all poems are an emblem of courage and the attempt to say the unsayable; but only a few are able to speak to something universal yet personal and distinct at the same time; to create a door through which others can walk into what previously seemed unobtainable realms, in the passage of a few short lines."
Every poem is a candle to the soul, and the purpose of a candle is to illuminate the space in which it is lit. Sometimes, the purpose of the very same candle can be to light up other candles in order to illuminate the whole world.
When and how we get to rekindle with that special place in our hearts I cannot tell you, yet when it does, it is the most relishing and invigorating moment one can experience. Poems are pearls of the soul, picked deep in the ocean of endless beauty and countless wonders, a place few of us ever visit in our lives, yet it lives at the centre of our hearts.
Poetry is a conversation. A conversation of love with love itself. It is about taking the liberty of living and leading one’s life holistically and wholeheartedly. Giving freely that magnificent essence of life that exists in all of us. Knowing somewhere deep in the quiet of our minds and hearts that we are all here for the sake of each other, to grow, share, learn and live as one organism that blossoms with life – we can only grow by growing others.
In poetry a healthy conclusion about life can be made that is not merely about survival. Irrespective of what idioms may suggest, life is about celebration. It is about celebrating the miracle of life and the gifts bestowed upon us to make it meaningful and worthwhile.
In our own unique ways we are each a candle, with a special gift, a light to make a positive difference in the world. It is when we accept this light within ourselves to shine out bright into this world that our lives find meaning and the art of living becomes a rewarding
